At least Sutton didn't do something truly awful like gamble on non NFL games at the Lions hotel.3 points

We just pulled in the parking lot. Not a bad drive. We took the back roads and left Lakeland at 08:30. 2.5 hours it is.3 points

But then FanDuel threatened to pull out of their agreement and the players were re-instated.3 points

This idea that "no one lost any money so it wasn't really criminal fraud" thing that's been popping up throughout the RWM is hot garbage. As though if Trump or anyone else defrauds someone who's not a real American that's me, or that's living next door to me, then it's not really a crime. It's the same logic as saying Pete Rose didn't do anything wrong because he didn't bet on his own team to lose. It's still a crime because he put himself in a position to throw games. Same here. By engaging in persistent and repeated fraud through acts such as purposefully maintaining incomplete and inaccurate books, Trump puts himself in a position to cause real loss to real people, at least indirectly if not directly. And Trump's refusal to answer questions directly about this case, veering off instead into non-sequitur issues far beyond the scope of the trial severely compromised his credibility on this case. Just because red hats exonerate Trump through this nonsensical sleight-of-hand reasoning does not mitigate the actual criminality he engaged in, as determined in a court of law. And besides, I categorically reject the premise that Trump's fraud caused no real harm because there were no real victims. There are at least three victims here: (1) the banks who are lending at lower rates as a result of these financial misstatements, putting themselves at risk for absorbing defaults by unworthy debtors, and potentially affecting loan acceptance for other borrowers as a result; (2) those competitors of the fraudster who are doing business honestly; and (3) society at large, because when we have an inequitable system that can be gamed by the powerful or those with insider knowledge, then the rest of us are likelier to get less favorable terms for submitting accurate information even as others are getting favorable terms by submitting what are essentially lies. So enough with "there are no real victims in this case" crap. Just because it's not coming directly out of our pocket right now doesn't mean there's no crime, or that the rest of us aren't losing in the end.2 points

Do they still have you drink the gallon jug? That is awful, it hit me about halfway through. Had to finish drinking sitting on the can, I still despise lemon lime flovoring....Luckily I now use cologuard much easier to deal with. My Mom died of colon cancer at 28 from poisoned water at Camp Lejune so I have been getting checked every year since I was like 20. To your point YES get screened, it might just save your life.2 points

My sister (who lived in nyc for quite a few years w/first husband) personally knew 2 people who had suits filed against Trump for non-payment on work they did in Trump properties. He kept them in court over and over and over (sound familiar?) until they needed to back off because it was causing their own businesses to fail. This is more than 20 years ago. He’s been cheating people his whole life. And still, not being made to pay up.2 points

Had my first one last year. Nothing about it was bad at all IMO. Not that I want to party with laxatives and gallons of gatorade, but it was not bad at all.1 point

So, I work for UCF now and my job is to talk with Alumni. I can't get a lot of them to get on the phone or answer emails. The amount of information you all can pull up like the Florida laws and screenshots and everything..... If any of you need a job for prospect research, please let me know. Thoughts and prayers go out to the lady and her family. This is why I lost faith in MIguel Cabrera and wasn't a fan of him.1 point

This is very different than my prep. I had my second one last month. Setting aside the diet changes which I assume yours is the same as mine, my diarrhea prep was to drink Suprep. It comes in two bottles becasue it’s a two-step treatment. The night before I had to mix one 6-oz bottle with 16 oz of water, and then chase it with another 16 ounces of water, all of which I had to finish within an hour. Then, the morning of, I had to repeat that. Suprep smells and tastes like NyQuil. I never minded the taste of NyQuil until this process. It is just as difficult to drink 22 ounces of it twice in 12 hours as it sounds. One of the things they recommend is drink it through a straw, but really, that just sounded to me like prolonging the agony, so I slammed it down in maybe three minutes. Wow, is it so gross. It’s actually worse than Malort. Last week I got a bad cold and I took a swig of NyQuil to help me sleep. Wow, did the bad Suprep memory come flooding back. It sounds like you might be getting off a little easier than I did. Let us know how it went.1 point

The instructions have me taking some laxatives and mixing a 238g bottle of powder with 64 ounces of gataorade. Looks like I can have coffee, tea, soda (Which I don't really drink), popsicles... just as long as nothing is red. I'm not worried about the laxative piece of it, we have bidets in the house and I have an area of privacy in my basement office so can do what's needed without bothering anybody. I say that now, ha ha. It's the fasting that I won't like. But it's important to do.1 point

I just scheduled my first colonoscopy. Obviously I've heard the worst part is the prep with fasting and drinking the stuff... I'm just letting y'all know in case it prompts someone to get off their ass and schedule theirs if eligible.1 point

Right. If this was during the season and people were saying “well, looks like Sutton committed a serious crime but we have an important game coming up and we should play him anyways this weekend because we really need to beat the Packers”, then I would agree with Payton. But that’s not what is happening. People are thinking that it is highly likely to be the end of Sutton in Detroit, so fine, what does that mean for the cap and how do the Lions plug this new hole. No one is saying law enforcement or the NFL should look the other way just because it impacts the Lions’ secondary.1 point

Hey Mike, domestic abuse happens every day. I'm assuming you've never thoughts about mundane things during this time because your focus has always been on the victims of this abuse, right?1 point

Well, this is bad. Putting aside the football aspect of it which is relatively unimportant, these allegations are really bad and him allegedly evading the police makes it even worse. It's prudent to wait for my details to come out before burning him at the stake but, yeah, not looking good for Cam to say the least. In terms of the football aspect, the Lions should act quickly with this so they can move forward while there are still some free agents out there because you don't want to shoehorn yourself into needing to draft a corner with a high pick.1 point

If anyone sees a conviction in a civil case about fraud and that it's Donald Trump and is sympathetic that maybe the government is victimizing him then I wouldn't call them independent. A true independent would look at it as "If I were to sue somebody, and win, then I want to make sure the courts do their job to get my award to me"1 point

I remember I once filled in at some big meeting of Bureau of Substance Abuse Researchers and directors because the big guns from Massachusetts couldn't show up. They were so worried that I would say something stupid because I was just a programmer. They told me to wear a suit and tie, don't say anything and take notes. I didn't wear a tie, but other than that I followed instructions. Some loud mouth director from Texas made a joke about beating his wife. His joke was received with no admonishment, just some nervous laughter and some oohs. I just sat there and shook my head.1 point

The Ballys broadcast mentioned a 2 1/2 hour bus trip one way for this game. Not sure if reporting or departing time was 7:30am. This lineup reflects that.1 point

While we're talking defense, Rogers had himself a first inning. Pounced on a dribbler along the 3rd base line, twirled and tossed a seed to Torkelson's chest. Fluidly framed a 3rd strike for another out. Gunned down Merrifield at 2nd on a delayed steal after a chesting a bounced pitch off of the corner of the plate. Hinch was interviewed in the next inning and said that wasn't even the best part of it. He was more impressed with Rogers' pitch calling early on.1 point

We're seeing the emergence of Raymond as a the second lead on this team. Edvinsson was fine. Got to a lot of pucks, cut off a lot of rushes, controlled the puck well.1 point

I had a dream. Six Tigers got one-year suspensions for gambling. Greene, Tork, Rogers and Mize. I can't recall the other two. Season's over, man, Manfred dropped the big one.1 point

Caught the first couple episodes of Manhunt (AppleTV). It's based on the search for John Wilkes Booth after Lincoln was murdered. It primarily focuses on Edwin Stanton's investigation. It's very well done so far1 point

In terms of this case, I suspect and hope you're right. But again, no one actually lost money here. If you sued someone because you were defrauded out of money, I certainly hope you would get the money if it was awarded to you. But if you sued on a technicality and never experienced any loss and then were gloating daily and pointing out how much interest you're making from the delay, I don't think you'd have 100% independent support.0 points
