Definitely fault Campbell for the TO sequences but the ST players running on the field is entirely on the ST coach, it is his responsibility to direct those guys, he let them run on the field when clearly the Lions were running up to spike the ball. Dan can't coach the game, direct the offense and keep tabs on the 11 special team players all at the same time. That is literally that coaches job and he screwed up.

You needed to change up your coordinators after last season. Running back was such a mistake. But man, those use of timeouts by Campbell were so bad. Todd Bowles putting on a clinic.

When I look at this lineup, I still find myself saying “who?” But through some strange alchemy they are playing meaningful games in September. I look back on the players we once heralded then forgot about such as The Van Man for instance, and then the teams that ended up disappointing that were full of All Stars, Cy Young winners, and future Hall of Famers. But I find this team’s season so gratifying I just want to say “thank you” in a manner that completely surprises me.

Pretty sure this is Edinburg. Go to Google streetview of US-281 south of Canton Road facing north and you can see the Best Western to the right, Oil Can Harry's to the right, and the KFC and La Rose ahead on the left. The gas station is different, but the Google Streetview was in June 2022. You can also see in the streetview on the NE corner the sign that says daily drink specials. I even was able to match up the phone numbers.

I guess (and I truly am guessing out of thin air air here) they could do that, but given how the new guys appear to be flourishing — for now at least — I have some doubts about ownership pulling the trigger on something like that that; it doesn’t seem to be in their DNA, especially given how prone to injury pitchers are, and that the Ilitch family might possibly like to be proven mostly right about their strategy of building from within. It’s the kind of thing a top-tier monied team would do, but I don’t think they see this team that way. I’ve become kind of cynical about this ownership group. No matter what, the off-season will be interesting.

We need to carry this winning thing into 2025. We could be going for the division next season. Kinda like the Lions finishing 8-2 and barely missing the playoffs in 2022.

I have to admit, I have rarely had cause to use this term in any context, but it really applies to the energy you see exhibited on this field by these young guys. The unabashed joy they share is really special.
