We're not depressed, we're exhausted. Having to deal with friends, family and colleagues who used to be normal, rational, intelligent people evolve into racist, hateful, knuckle dragging cult followers sucks the life out of you. The gaps between the lows and the highs with this team are excruciating. The lows cut deeper and the highs are more stratospheric because I’m a lot more invested. I’ve bought into this team this year more than I have with any team in the last many years. A big part of it is that these guys are grown and raised on our own farms which are now showing promise instead of disappointment. The youthful exuberance of the team is just infectious.

They won the game, so there is no reason for him to feel down. I also don't think this is going to go down as an epic game in Tigers history. There have been a bunch of memorable games the last few weeks and I don't see this game as standing out from the others.

The Tigers' head to head to head against Minnesota and Seattle is 11-8, Minnesota's is 12-8, and Seattle's is 3-8. So the Tigers would still lose a tiebreaker to Minnesota, even if it involves Seattle too. How about a 4-way tie with Detroit, KC, Minnesota and Seattle, with two teams making it? The Tigers' head to head to head to head against KC, Minnesota and Seattle is 17-15, KC's is 16-16, Minnesota's is 19-14, Seattle's is 6-13. So the Twins and Tigers would make it.

Umm, my life is actually better than it was 4 years ago, although that has little to do with who's in the WH. I don’t think I worry too much about Foley. I think I worry the appropriately right amount about Foley. 😁 Foley has enough holes in his game that I don’t think he’s going to be the primary closer on the 2025 team. I think he’ll still be here, but we will establish appropriate matchups for him starting next spring. Even if coaching wanted to make a change sooner than later, It’s the kind of change that couldn’t be made with just a few games left in the season, anyway, not with this coaching regime. I do think Holton is the early favorite to be the late inning leverage guy next year.

That Jaguars team had Blake Bortles as their starting QB and half the offensive talent we have. Their best weapons on offense were Allen Hurns and Mercedes Lewis. This team has more offensive talent than they had. I don't fear we're turning into the 2014 Jags. I do fear, at least a little bit, that teams are figuring out Ben Johnson's offense and would like to see the playcalling mixed up and the return of Sam LaPorta to the scheme.
