  1. If you say you're afraid of Sarah McBride because of an assault in high school, but not of actual men like Matt Gaetz who preys on teen girls, Brett Kavanaugh, who sexually assaulted a teenager in high school or Donald Trump who publicly stated he likes to leer at naked young girls, sit down and shut the **** up. Not only is at insult to sexual assault victims to use her experience for a political stunt, but she's putting actual vulnerable human beings who are already at high risk for attacks even more at risk. Deplorable.

  2. WWP=Wounded Warrior Project. Non-profit that nearly went belly up in 2016. Also. always look beyond the AI summary on anything that potentially changes over time. The algorithm is not very good at discerning obsolete data from current data. I've recently had the AI bot toss up a lot of bad Linux system programming info because it was recapitulating obsoleted info. Supposedly you can try using -AI on your searches. I've been experimenting with that.

  6. Cade has one big thing he needs to fix to become great and he does it by doing 3 smaller things. The big thing is becoming more efficient. 53% TS% is a joke, like Killian Hayes is the punchline to that joke. 57-58 would be better, but the elites can get it over 60%. This is by far the #1 thing he needs to fix. The three things that can help with that? Finish at the rim better. Develop more of a mid-range game. Draw more FTA's. Finishing at the rim is self explanatory. He gets to the rim a lot but shoots a low percentage in the restricted area and in the paint. Developing a better mid-range game would help. Yeah its an inefficient shot compared to the 3PT shot or dunk. But it is the shot defensives give up the most, so good players need to hit it. Elbow extended jumper and a little floater would do wonders to help his game. Drawing more FTA's is probably the biggest thing he needs to do to improve his efficiency. When you draw a shooting foul that shot doesn't count. If he can turn 2-3 of his misses into fouls, you are taking those off of your box score and its much easier to score at the line. All that means increased efficiency.

  7. One of many reasons it's hard to take seriously when his supporters cry about women's fears of being assaulted in bathrooms.

  8. Trump has publicly bragged about walking through beauty pageant restrooms while young women were in there. He said it was OK because he owned the pageant. So, the threat of him going into a woman's restroom seems legitimate.

  10. I acknowledge the sexual assault of all women who were raped and violated and feel for each one of them. It is a horrific experience I cannot truly know. Nancy Mace, Juanita Broaddrick, Christine Blasey-Ford, and on deserve to have their stories heard. If Mace is worried about trans men using a women's bathroom and vice versa then maybe she could start by not voting for a man who was convicted in a civil trial of sexual assault himself. Why did she vote for a man who was found guilty of rape if that is her primary concern?

  11. We had an early "Famous Dave's" in Minneapolis that was better than anything currently available in A^2. But I don't know if FD's has maintained their standards as they've grown, most places don't. For years in A^2 a one old dude ran a tiny hole in the wall with one smoker in a little shack that was probably once a 1940's single island gas station at Kerrytown. Strictly carry out. But he eventually decided to retire and no-one wanted the business. They are now building a multistory bldg on the site (queue up the Joni Mitchell...). There have been a couple of BBQ places come and go in town since then but none seem to stick. Maybe BBQ is tough sell today with the Quinoa and Arugula crowd.

  13. They don't have any franchises in MA or NH or anywhere near there. You're really not missing much. Founded by a couple of restaurant executives, one was an Outback executive. The other had sons in the military. They are based in Maryland, just outside and promotes a patriotic atmosphere. TBH the food is nothing to go out of your way for (I can think of at least three better BBQ places here and a NC based chain I prefer to their BBQ. They do give "free" sandwiches to vets one day a week. I have nothing against "being patriotic" I've played in community bands long enough to respect those who served and enjoy watching them stand when we play the "Armed Forces Salute". I do object to those who try to monetize "patriotism" . I've yet to find any Veteran causes that MBQ donates any significant sums of money or donates their products (free catering and such or deep discounts) to any local veterans groups. BTW I also despise the Lee Greenwood song. I feel it's been overplayed and just like the Pledge of Allegiance and Lord's Prayer too many people just go thru the motions leaving them without any real meaning. But to Trumpaholic, Thank you for your service.

  18. Brock Wright also had 7 receptions for 71 yards and 1 TD his entire college career. Brad Holmes saw that and said, "you..... I like you." 53 receptions for 487 yards and 9 TDs as a pro. And counting!

  20. Yeah - the 'validation by past trial' is always losing logic. You have to keep proving your bona fides every day no matter who you are. What they say on the Street applies pretty generally: Past results not a guarantee of future performance.

  21. In the early 20th century, it was the Italians, Poles and other Eastern Europeans.... it was the Germans before them, and then the Irish before them. In terms of being amongst the 'other', being gay was unforgivable until not long ago.... 50-60 years ago, people could marry people outside of their race. We had the "red scare" back in the 1950s. And obviously our history with Civil Rights and Women's Suffrage... I love this country, and we have a history of figuring this stuff out in the end.... but the struggles are all very predictable. Because we do it to ourselves over and over again.

  22. Glum is a misread. The games remain the games, institutional loyalty is what it is, but having been tied to the maze and blue for over 50 yrs by family, education, employment, and residence, I am now more amused/bemused in its sports pretensions and foibles than any capacity I retain to be swept up by the institutionally misfit dog and pony show major college athletics has become, so it would probably be fair to say I no longer meet the definition of a "fan." How about loyal non-fan? (and get off my lawn.......)

  23. There's always someone to be wary of. The transgender person or the illegal immigrant or the scary black man. Pay no attention to the greedy guy who is willing to tread all over people in his pursuit of wealth. That's the person who is willing to do some sinning and tries to misdirect attention to innocent people.

  27. I get that. My wife had knee replacement surgery the day after the election (we joked, that at least she'd be unconscious for a while after the election). She's been getting around with a walker. It was a major venture today when we hit the grocery store and ventured into a real restaurant for lunch following her PT. I can't imagine doing any type of distance traveling with a scooter, especially in a city like Boston. Hope things heal quickly.

  30. Honestly, I think this is fine. Cities seem to be finally waking up to the fact that even residents who want major league teams in their area don't want to have hundreds or thousands of their tax dollars spent on such blatant corporate welfare.

  33. Holmes also picked up UDFAs Brock Wright, Craig Reynolds and Jerry Jacobs. The first 2 are still on the team and dressing every week and Jacobs while not being that good did play for 3 years and produce 4 INTs which for an UDFA is a major win.

  37. Nancy Mace may be a survivor of rape at the hands of a high school classmate, and it’s very sad and tragic that she went through that. Her efforts to bar a fellow female Congressional representative from using the public bathroom of the gender the rep is legitimately identified with does nothing to address Mace’s own personal history, with the possible exception that she was raped in a bathroom by a man dressed as a woman—which by her own admission she was not. If Mace is using her story as the reason she wants to punish another rep who had nothing to do with the story, then not only would that be a corrupt and inappropriate use of her congressional power, but it actually backfires on her and makes her look like nothing less than a bully. And that goes double since Mace is a devoted and vocal disciple of an adjudicated rapist. The most likely reason Mace is doing this is so she can personally profit from it. https://www.dailydot.com/debug/nancy-mace-transgender-bathroom-bill-t-shirts/ Additional future fundraising pleas directly related to this issue to come, I assume.

  38. I heard Ramyswamy talking about that. I don't think it was a serious suggestion though. It will more likely be based on their political leanings. Whatever they do will be a ****show with lawsuits all over the place.
