  3. Similar view. I don't really care for 'brooding' Nolan; "Dark Knight", "Interstellar", for the same reason - I'm just not entertained by that kind of darkness. It's art for sure, but he's not telling me anything I need to hear anymore in it (maybe that's a product of age?). Nolan with a twinkle in his eye - "Inception" - is just more fun.

  4. It's what they wanted. They didn't want to have to print out a story about how competent old man Biden resolved conflict in the Middle East.

  5. Baez will likely make the game on the bench. His versatility will probably factor into the decision on some other possible bench players.

  6. members of the White House Faith Outreach team had a public prayer session today, when some members began speaking in tongues. It's a cult.

  7. I would argue that Magglio’s HR vs the A’s in ‘06 was the most significant/memorable moment across all Detroit sports over the last 25 years.

  8. The story of Batman is great. It was in the works for about 5 years until they got Burton. They originally had the Superman writer, then talked about Ivan Reitman. Names like Mel Gibson and Bill Murray were thrown out and considered. Robin was going to be in it, played by names like Michael J Fox or Eddie Murphy. Lithgow as joker. That stalled so they turned it over to Tim Burton who only wanted Michael Keaton. It was the right choice and he remains the best Batman.

  9. I was curious where Miranda was. Two prominent names missing from the Tigers’ Dominican Summer League teams are expected back early next month: Nestor Miranda, 19, a right-handed batting third baseman who signed 17 months ago for $1.5 million, has been out with a left shoulder strain. Steven Madero, 18, and a left-handed hitting catcher who has steadily wowed the Tigers staff since he came aboard, also will resume work following a quad strain.

  10. My wife will no longer support any business or entity in Florida more than to the minimum requirement of necessity for a vacation so no chance we own property there even though it would be within the retirement budget to have a side condo there. So, VRBO it is... Meanwhile our future property in the Northville, South Lyon, Milford, Ann Arbor triangle is planned to be some place with a couple acres and an out building or two for the toys. *toys here literally means about $40k in legos

  11. We're out of town for a funeral. Game was on as background noise at my cousin's but I didn't really get to watch. Shame what happened to Hali. But a really good series overall. People that didn't watch because of small markets really missed out.

  12. All trades for KD are bad trades. If I'm a GM I'm targeting Houston picks 3-6 years from now. Recent history in Brooklyn and Phoenix tells us those will be valuable. Green was a disaster in the playoffs. Almost unplayable, and didn't get off the bench down the stretch in multiple games. He can score but does absolutely none of the small things needed to win games. He will eventually find his way to Charlotte, New Orleans, Washington, or some other perpetual losing team. He will score a ton of points, make a ton of money, and lose a ton of games. The Thunder and Pacer rosters are loaded with guys I would take before Green, and I'm not talking about their stars. I mean Caruso, Dort, McConnell, Nembhard, and Nesmith.

  15. I believe she's pregnant again-the ectopic pregnancy was terminated. She claims it wasn't abortion, even though it clearly was. Blaming 'the left' rather than lobbying the FL legislature to change the wording of the law for her situation is infuriating yet oh so typical....

  24. Listening to yesterday‘s game in the car Dan Dickerson related briefly the story about Willie Horton making his way his way to the Pirates clubhouse to congratulate Don Kelly. The Tigers great paying his respects to a beloved role player. Both men of the cloth. As much as these baseball clubs follow the fault lines of soulless corporate entities like any other, the Tigers still maintain this affecting human dimension among the men who are part of the lineage of the team. I suppose all teams do this, but the Tigers are the only team I follow closely and when I sense this knit of identity between former players or hear about, it brings me joy. As remote as I am from all of it, I somehow feel included.
