  2. As much as I'd love to see it, I can't buy it. Unlike 2003 we don't have a Tayshuan Prince waiting in the wings to overtake Michael Curry and shut down TMac. Unless you think that's Ron... That said, I'd actually love to see a lineup shakeup. What do we have to lose at this point? We aren't scoring in the half-court with any lineup JB puts out there, so let's take back the paint and try to win the possession battle again. Give me a bunch of double-big with Stew alongside Duren and Reed to match their size and put a better defender on Paulo. Play Ron and more Javonte for disruption. Lean into our identity even harder and just try to impose our will on Orlando for once. If we're gonna go out in the first round, let's go out embracing our identity.

  5. This is why it’s annoying when we don’t win the games where Skubal is no hitting the other team through 5 innings

  6. TBF, Workman put up a 900+ OPS last August and September in Toledo as well, but he was still striking out way too much. Somewhere along the line Workman stopped switch hitting, and his improvement has followed his concentration on hitting from one side of the plate, so there is some rationale for thinking he's not quite the same player that putzed around the system for so many years. OTOH, when K's are the problem in the minors, that's about the worst sign for a hitter making it at the next level. Unfortunately, Jung's K rate at Toledo is also 30%. There isn't a whole lot to be excited about either one of these guys. I just would like to see Workman because he is more of an unknown. Have already seen enough of Jace for the pessimism to be well baked. 🙄

  9. I didn't mind too much when we had a yard. The back yard was a bear, however. It backed up to a wooded preserve area with quite a few walnut trees. Then there was this steep hill coming off the driveway. That was the killer and I'm not sure a riding mower would have helped. Looking at the pictures, your front yard is a lot like ours was. Our next door neighbors were out there constantly on weekends. The wife was obsessive. He once bought a new mower and she went out with a ruler to measure the grass to make sure it was the correct height. I'm sure she would have used a level to check thje bushes if she could.

  10. Where's Kriedler when you need him?

  11. Yes, the is the boring and obvious solution, especially if McKinstry is nearing a return (and it sounds like he is). I think it certainly means they aren’t going to put a guy like gage workman on the 40 for such a short term need. Same goes for potential Mize replacements. I hear sammons name thrown around and that just isn’t happening. If sammons is called up I will eat my hat (nacho hats allowed).

  12. orlando is not very good, even with the roster flaws they should still be beating orlando.

  13. McKinstry shouldn’t be out much longer so I doubt they’re going to make a 40 man roster move unless Javy or Mize is going to miss significant time—which it doesn’t look likely they will at this point I’d guess Jung comes up until McKinstry is back

  14. Of the 16 playoff teams, Detroit ranks 12th in opponents offensive rebounding. So yeah, they are not doing a very good job. Orlando ranks 6th, so Detroit isn't doing a good job on the other end either.

  15. I can see them adding Clark, but I also think they would view a real back-up shortstop as a necessity. I think Cruz would have been the obvious choice if he was healthy as he has played both CF/SS within the past year and is already on the 40-man. How soon McKinstry coming back is a big consideration.

  17. It's not just Hinch though. I still think they are sacrificing reliable defense for flexibility by moving players around so much, but it's the way the game is played today.

  18. It's probably less a matter of whether he could than that Hinch is loath to be without his Swiss Army knife roster.

  19. I think CF is Vierling and Perez until Baez is back. If you bring up Clark, you are committing to him for the rest of the season, barring him giving the team a reason to demote him.

  20. I can see why since any significant injury could spell the end of a career. For established players it could be a loss of effectiveness that noticeably brings their performance down a notch, cost them future innings or games, or even earnings. For guys on the way up, it could be the death knell of their career at that moment since they are so replaceable.

  21. 5) I’m too lazy, incompetent, and simply disinclined to do my own yard work so I pay a service to do it, even though the yard is small enough that I can handle it.

  23. Not surprising they did that. They always play the canadian anthem there even if a canadian team isn't playing since it's minutes away... something they should also do in Detroit since so many fans at the game are Canadian.

  26. I have gone over this before. But not moving Harris is one of the biggest blunders Langdon has made since taking over. The Pistons are expected to operate as a team over the cap this summer. That means when Harris becomes a free agent this summer his $25 million will come off the books, but it won't create a single penny of new cap space. So they get a hole to fill without adding any resources to fill it because they are still over the cap. People will say bring Harris back, but with his performance in the playoffs I don't think that is a very attractive option now. They really needed to move him for a player that had a deal that extended out past this summer. Or a guy who would be a free agent this summer they wanted back and could use his Bird rights to do so. That is how you manage a roster and the salary cap. But the decided against all that so Harris could vibe and shoot 14% from three in the playoffs. Sweet.

  27. I could see them calling up Trei Cruz before Max Clark becasuse Trei is on teh 40-man. Also, if Mize has to take 10 days off, wouldn't they just activate JV? Javy's fine. A couple of gummies and he'll be good to go.

  33. I see a lot of wrong info posted about Duren and what his max contract could/will look like. So here is the info Coming off of his rookie deal he is eligible for a 25% max contract. That means year 1 of the deal is 25% of next seasons salary cap. If he makes all NBA this year he is then eligible for a 30% max contract. Eligible is the key word here. Being on the all NBA team does not make the 30% contract automatic. It just means instead of being eligible for a contract between 1% and 25% he is eligible for a deal between 1% and 30%. A team other than the Pistons can only offer him the 25% contract. Coming off of your rookie deal you can only get the 30% from the team that drafted you. Raises. The Pistons can offer 8% raises per year while other teams can only offer 5%. A players raise amount is based off of the 1st year of his contract, it does not go up as the contract progresses. Here are the three max contracts Duren can sign (assuming he makes all NBA) based on the projected $165 million salary cap next season.

  36. I'm as doom and gloom about this team as anyone, but they could still win this series. orlando isnt that good. the pistons could get better shooting and/or a supercade game and win 3 straight against this team. not likely, but not impossible. ask tracy mcgrady.
