Kind of makes one wonder where this will all be in 5, 10, 15 years. How many offerings will be purely a la carte on their own, how many will be bundled? Will sports teams be predominately on their own app/channel or will cities/regions package multiple sports, or will leagues take control of all of their teams? Old enough to remember when the local cable company had an "A" side and a "B" side that needed to be manually flipped. Don't remember why they went 2-30 on either side rather than go 2-60 with no A/B, its just what we had to deal with.

Its not going to end well for Patrick Ewing, is it?

One of those channels had a show called "How the States Got Their Shapes" which, well, the title kind of explains it. Another show was called "Aerial (State/Region)" which showed drone/airplane footage of different geographical parts of a state and touched on historical significance. I'm a map nerd and I love me some map porn, so these shows were great. Pretty sure they were before COVID, but, geez, between Marble Olympics and 2019 International Team Handball Championships, if these map shows were on then, I don't know if I'd have had time to see how my wife and kids were doing.

Until Irving stops it.

Bull poop. Iverson played.

Cord cutting is an issue. The blackout rules are an issue. Waning popularity is probably an issue, although to be fair MLB is trying to do something with the flow of game play. Whether or not what they are trying works is another thing. How much of an issue is viewing habits sports in general? Are people more into catching highlights after the game or maybe checking the score and seeing whether it’s worth their time to watch a game after some time has passed? I know a few season ago the NBA had considered some sort of subscription to broadcast 4th quarters of games. I don’t think it ever came to fruition, but would that have been a consideration 20 or even 10 years ago?

Sparky loved those veterans.

Good grief, 45 years. That’s incredible.

Granderson CF Higginson RF Fryman 3B Gibson LF Castellanos DH Clark 1B Avila C Infante SS Santiago 2B Bench of Inge (C) and Cuyler (OF) needs an IF. Any way to trade Simon back for Suarez and put him at SS, bump Infante to 2B and Santiago to the bench?

That's the story of my athletic life.

Can't lose them all. Ivey and Duran played well, which is nice for the future. Bogdanoich, Bey, and Burks had good stretches/games which might be short term memory gains and/or value enhancements on the trade front. And Diallo did some good Diallo things. Maybe its just me, but I find him fascinating. You just don't know what the results will be, but the kid seems to be always at full go. It reminds me of young Rodman as far as the energy and athleticism goes. -

Oh, how you dare you call out a hometown favorite for past shenanigans. -
Is it different voices depending on the scenario? That's how I roll.

LOL..... thanks. I'm not trying to sound like a prick, but I do know that that rule exists. It was a bad joke gone awry. I let it loose as hard as I could throw it and it ended up off target. Call it a Gregory Soto fastball.

And just for the record, Doug Strange had 31 career home runs. But @oblong had live visual of his only home run as a Tiger. I hope you still have that ticket stub.

It was a Labor Day day game. Only 17K there, so I’ll bet you had plenty of elbow room. Bo Jackson played, but only as a DH. I know he probably needed DH days, too, but geez, what a contrast of LFs between he and 38 year old Fred Lynn. And between the two, Jackson was the one that had his body betray him at a still youthful age.

Not if he ain’t wearing a Tiger cap.

His 300th HR was as a Tiger and hit off of Kansas City’s Bret Saberhagen on September 4, 1989. The Tigers traded Chris Hoiles and two players to be named later for him. Now that I think about it, “players to be named later” is a ridiculous phrase. Unless the player is not yet born, they probably have a name. That phrase should probably be changed.

Marvelous.

No, but he may have sired a few Detroiters.

130 + 100 + 40 + 30 +15 = 315 games for the analysts. Sounds like a 3 man booth with Shepard's play by play. Or maybe the 315 includes the pre & post game shows? I don't know.
