They were probably longshots since they weren't on the 40. Diaz had 12 SOs in 6 1/3 IP along with 3 BBs and 3 Hs. Not sure about the competition that he faced, but that's not bad.
As long as the ball is coming off of his bat well, it'll find holes eventually. I think he was the victim of some bad luck last season. He'll have his rookie season behind him. Hopefully a reversal of fortune (ie, a more in line BABIP). I think he's going to have a pretty good season.
Depending upon how one looks at a calendar (Sun-Sat or Mon-Sun), Opening Day is next week. Never mind the dusting of snow that was on the ground this morning. The games are for real next week. Every game is televised and radioised. The dugouts aren’t as crowded. It’s American League and National League rather groupings of citrus and prickly plants. We’re almost there.
In all honesty, this is a good game to suck. Get it out of the way. It’s not on Tiger radio or television. Boyd gets a clunker out of his system. Sucks for Evil Roy, but on the other, he’s in Florida in March, so, hey, that ain’t bad.
