  1. Don't worry. Playing the Yankees will give us all the prime time and Bob Costas you can handle.
  2. Looks like 8:00 AM cider is on the menu.
  3. Bligh Madris is not a name I expected (or wanted) to hear again this season, especially since it would mean no Carp for the Yankees series.
  4. It would be quite possible that I would watch zero minutes of that. That is by far my least desirable matchup.
  5. That's what I thought too
  6. Is there anyone that looks at the patch that says Oxy, and doesn't think of the drug? I actually have no idea what that truly is.
  7. Same, though he was on short rest. Still, to not even go two innings was very surprising.
  8. I am really surprised the Padres weren't able to close that series out last night. It seemed setup perfectly for them, with Freeman out and Dodgers having to do a bullpen game.
  9. Doing all I can. I'm wearing the same clothes, and will get the same food and beer. It's really all up to my dad though, and whether he is sitting in the correct position or not...
  10. I look forward to attending my second straight clincher.
  11. Right. Whatever you are willing to pay to be add-free, there are companies willing to pay much more than that to ensure you see them.
  12. There is no reason we shouldn't light up Cobb. Of course you can't take anything for granted in the playoffs, but we should jump on him early and often.
  13. If the Tigers would have won Saturday, this could have been one of the all time best sports weekends. Three "top ten" SEC teams go down. Michigan loses. Michigan State loses. Buckeyes roll. Packers win. Browns and 49ers lose. Good stuff all around, except baseball and that changes today!
  14. Boy did that game get chippy, not only between the teams but also with the fans. There was a 15 minute delay between innings because of issues with the outfield fans and the Padres players. And Flaherty and Machado were having A LOT of "conversation". After Flaherty struck him out, you could clearly see him say "Get back in the dugout MFer!".
  15. Fascinating. This isn't some young, inexperienced closer. He's one of the best in the game.
  16. I found the good news of having the Yankees in the playoffs. We get to avoid having Costas/Darling call our games.
  17. If she happens to be left-handed, she can have my guitar. I stopped trying to learn awhile ago, and I haven't been able to find another lefty to give it to.
  18. But I got rid of my snow blower last year!
  19. I have tickets to game four in Detroit, and I'm guessing it's going to end up a 4:00 game because the stupid Yankees will be in prime time. That stinks, because my brother and nephew are supposed to be going with us, and it will be much tougher for them to get away from work.
  20. Why are we panicking about TP exactly? I feel out of the loop, and like to stress about the same things others are.
  21. Shoot. No wonder my son's little league team wasn't very good.
  22. Since the beginning of the three game wild card (admittedly not long ago), teams that won the first game are 8-0 for the series, and 7-1 in game two.
  23. When I was young, my dad would take me to a lot of baseball card shows for autographs. One of my friends was a huge Reds (and hence Pete Rose) fan, so we got tickets and went to the card show. Every other show I've ever been to the player would at least look up and acknowledge you when you got to the table. Not Rose. Head down, signing and on to the next, as fast as he could. My friend tried to say something to him about being a huge fan, and got no response whatsoever. Not even a glance up or a nod. Pales in comparison to all of the other "bad guy" stories about Rose, I know.
