It seems like I have to throw my Gritty tshirt in the garbage, right? I certainly can't wear it again without being rightfully mocked. -
I watched it last night instead of baseball. It was fine. Maybe I'm just burned out on superhero movies, or I wasn't in the right mood, but it never really grabbed me.
-
I know the mantra is to make the playoffs and then anything can happen, but it's hard to see the Tigers as anything but cannon fodder at this point. Especially if they have to pitch Skubal twice this week just to get in.

How does his swing look?

Second and third with one out might be the one occasion I can support it. You are essentially risking second and third with two outs for first and third with two outs. In either scenario you need a hit to score. Contact play with second and third no outs makes no sense to me. You're putting a double play on the table, when previously it wasn't. Major league infielders just don't make wild throws often enough to make that a good risk to take. Though apparently it is...

I hate the contact play so much. The metrics must back it up, but it sure seems like it doesn't work way too often.

This is essentially the argument I've been making to my son since the trade deadline. The Tigers did nothing to help them win in October. Is Morton marginally better than our other back-of-the-rotation guys? Maybe. But you aren't relying on those guys to win playoff games. We needed someone that was going to move that needle, either on the pitching staff or in the lineup (or both). Instead, we kept it "Skubal and pray" in the rotation, and "Greene, Tork, Carp and pray" in the lineup. -
Taking my parents to this game. My dad is very cranky about the Tigers recent performance, so for their sake I hope they do well. I reassured him that they were saving up to impress him in person today.

Please, please, please let the good Jack Flaherty pitch today. -
I use a Firestick, and it sucks. At least once per game it just completely drops out of the app, if not restarts the Firestick completely. I use the Firestick for all my viewing, and it's the only app that has a problem.

Look, GG is straight up telling you that he does not care about non-Americans, including if they live or die. And if they do die, he doesn't care if they were murdered by American soldiers. Further, his assertion is that the majority of Trump voters feel the same. I for one believe him about all of it.

Well you can share the "good news" that Apple will be out of the baseball business next season. I actually like their broadcasts though.

For All Mankind WAS great, for the first couple of seasons. Then it went completely off-the-rails into soap opera land. I think I'm two seasons behind now, and don't care to catch up.
-
Fixed that for you.

No. Before it came to Ohio, I always got excited when I had a chance to import some (or have it on vacation). Now I rarely buy it.

Well, it DOES end up being chaos, but not in a good way. -
I disagree. You can absolutely navigate the playoffs rotation wise as currently constructed. Three solid starters is more than enough. Of the priorities, I consider a starter well behind elite BP and impact bat.
-
The impact bats certainly don't seem to be there (outside of Suarez, but that ship has sailed), which is unfortunate. We certainly could use one. That and an elite BP arm is what we needed IMO. I'm not all that thrilled about the third/fourth starters that are available (which is what I consider Alcantara at this point), or these donkey relievers we keep signing/trading for.
-
IMHO, it doesn't. Enjoyed it immensely. I did finally have to read an "explainer" about who is actually related to who on that show. It blew my mind that "Uncle" Jimmy is not actually related to any of the other regular characters.

I've become less enamored with the mix-and-match daily routine of the team. We have a lot more mix and notsomuch match. Trey Sweeney has no business being here right now. Unfortunately, the same can be said for Parker Meadows and Matt Vierling. I still like Zach as a complimentary piece, but the OF outside of Riley is an offensive blackhole. Carpenter coming back will certainly help, but for how long before he is hurt again? Kwan from Cleveland would be fantastic. Suarez obviously as well. Certainly bullpen is a high priority, but I'm also not confident in this offense getting it done in the playoffs. -
Anymore. They did in January though.

You are a brave man for keeping Kahnle on this list, while at the same time extolling the virtue of swing and miss ability.
-
TLDR: Skubal is a good dude and a great pitcher.
-
My son and I were two of them. Castro made that really nice catch at the RF fence right in front of us.
