  1. So wait Sportz and Alwaysthrowheat are Father and Son?
  2. Ibanez is now 0 for his last 32 with the only time reaching base safely during it was a single HBP.
  3. Damn Tigers have drawn 34 walks since Sunday, no other team in baseball has drawn more than 22.
  4. Riley clobbers a single to center(110.7 mph) to make it 5-2 Tigers!
  5. 10Ks and 18 whiffs for Faedo with no walks no less! Very impressive outing indeed.
  6. Faedo responds perfectly after the HR by K'ing the side. His stuff has looked really good tonight, FB sitting 93-94 with some bite on his slider. Has 14 whiffs on 82 pitches thus far.
  7. According to statcast it was "only" hit at 99 so not nearly as hard as I originally thought, I figured it was closer to 110 with how hard it sounded and looked off the bat.
  8. Tork absolutely scorched that one, surprised it didn't roll all the way to the wall, Roberts must've really been moving to cut it off that or Heather and Co. didn't cut the grass this morning.
  9. Javy with a 2 run single! 3-1 Tigers!
  10. You'd probably have to have a fielder knock themselves running into the wall or something to score Cabrera on a sac fly.
  11. Baddoo showing some of that early 2021 power there!
  12. Great play by Javy but damn Vaughn was running with the proverbial piano on his back!
  13. I swear every stolen base against the Tigers this year has come around the score.
  14. Starting to think Ibanez is literally never going to get another hit in his major league career.
  15. Miggy hit it hard but still ended up being "a miggy" aka GIDP.
  16. Cabrera may only play a few times a week but he takes up a roster spot every day of the week so yeah Carpenter could be the DH but you still are then rostering 2 guys who can't play the field anywhere which limits your options and flexibility. I guess given the lack of offense on the team it may be worth that trade off but if Cabrera wasn't on the team there would be no debate about it, it would be a foregone conclusion that he'd be on the roster assuming of course the reports about him hitting with no problems are true.
  17. It's been said before but the position thing has merit when you are building a team from the bottom but the Lions aren't. THey are set at QB, both Tackles, had the two best rookie pass rushers last year, have a legit number 1 receiver and spent a ton of resources on the secondary in the offseason. They shored up or are set at all the "important positions" so should they just keep using resources there to draft back ups that won't see the field much just because there is suddenly some rule that it is taboo to draft certain positions early even if there is a need for them? Also I found it funny that when PFF put out their top 25 players under 25 they had a freaking Center listed 4th overall ahead of stud players at positions like OT, DB and WR. So position value only matters to them in certain situations I guess.
  18. ESPN had their rookie projections the other day and they have Gibbs projected to finish 2nd in rushing to Bijan but 1st in total yards at like 1200 and first in total TDs at 9. Also have Campbell finishing first in tackles at nearly 100 beating the next guy by 25. So yeah getting the guy who leads all rookies in all purpose yards and TDs along with the player that finishes with 25% more tackles than any of his peers sounds like a Home Run to me even if they play "less valuable positions".
  19. It sounds like Carpenter is "hitting lasers all over the field" according to what I heard on the radio but he still can't throw which is why he hasn't been called back up. This is where having Miggy hurts us cause we'd have no problem just using him as the full time DH until he was healthy enough to play the field but with Miggy already taking up that spot it makes it hard to roster two guys that literally can't play defense at all.
  20. Beck says 1st pitch scheduled for 8:10.
  21. I was a little perplexed on draft night when they passed on Mayer but I wasn't too worried about him cause I was optimistic that we were going to sign one of the premier FA SSs that offseason and we'd be set there for the next 5-7 years. Of course we know how that has turned out thus far. As far as Jobe goes I liked everything about him except for the fact that he was a HS pitcher. Lol
  22. Kiley McDaniel has his new top 50 out on ESPN. No Tiger made the list but Keith did make the 15-20 names on his "late cut" list. Also Madden and Campos were two of the 20 or so prospects he said went up 2 or more grades since the offseason so that's some positive news. Btw Mayer was 3rd overall and Lawlar 12th. Thanks Al!
  23. Speaking of Chapman, he must have found the fountain of youth cause last year when I watched him he was "only" topping out at 97 and occasionally 98 but yesterday he was hitting 103 on the TV gun like he used to in his prime.
  24. On a side note how is Salvador Perez only 33 years old(just turned that 2 weeks ago)? He's less than 2 years older than Aaron Judge who seems like and plays like a guy right in the middle of his prime where as Perez despite still being really good feels like a guy that has been around forever who is on the tail end of his career.
  25. Ugh Tigers lead them loaded as McKinstrey strikes out after UMP calls strike on a borderline call that would've walked in a run. It was close but still that one call was a huge turn of events, instead of being 4-2 with bases loaded and our best hitter coming up its inning over down 4-1.
