  1. BTW this win moves us back into 2nd place, could be there by ourselves if the White Sux hold onto their 6-1 lead over the Guardians. Also the Twins are facing Kershaw and the Dodgers later tonight so if things go right we could be just a game back in the loss column come tomorrow morning.
  2. Weaver just said that he felt that picks 3-8 are interchangeable this year so presumably he must have had Scoot on his own tier.
  3. Yep that's before my time.lol One of the 6-6 I remember was Damian Easley in the late 90s or early 00s, I know I have come across more but that's the one that really sticks out to me.
  4. I agree about the power, would definitely like to see more from both Tork and Greene but what they have been giving us is alot better than they were so it's a step in the right direction. But yeah if they never hit for power they are going to need an obscene BA and OBP to really be the impact players on offense that we hoped they would be.
  5. I don't see much of a difference between 3-5 but I do think getting 2 would've been a real bonus even if we didn't draft Scoot. I think the consensus is that Scoot is on his own tier after Wemby so I'm sure there would've been atleast 1 team in the market to trade up for him if we indeed didn't want to take him. Potentially could've ended up with say the 5th or 6th pick plus another asset or two.
  6. We also got to remember that Lorenzen started the year on the injured list and didn't end up making any minor league rehab starts, he was thrown straight into the fire and in turn got lit up his first couple starts, if you discount those then his numbers look even better.
  7. I'm sure there will be some fluff articles(probably from JEIII) that say stuff like "The Pistons ended up with the 5th pick last year and got Jaden Ivey and I think they are more than satisfied with that result." or something along those lines.
  8. Don't think Keith is going to get another at bat so it looks like he is going to finish 6-6. I've seen a few 6-6 in my life but never have seen a 7-7 so it would've been cool to see him try to go for that. Still though an obvious unbelievable game and surely the best by a Tiger and possibly any minor leaguer this year.
  9. It sucks that just when the Pistons decide to finally bottom out instead of being stuck in the 9-12th seed purgatory is right when the league changes the lottery rules and makes it harder for said ****ty teams to win the lottery. Kinda like how the NFL changed the rookie draft scale the year the Lions got good and stopped picking in the top 5.
  10. Is the Cade draft the only time a Red WIngs or Pistons team has moved up in the draft in the past decade or so?
  11. God Damn Spurs! Oh Well atleast it's a Western Conference team.
  12. NONONONONONONONONONONONO!!!!!!!
  13. Colt does indeed get the cycle with a leadoff single in the 6th! Now 5-5 with 2HRs, a double and a triple to go with 7 RBIs!
  14. You just KNEW that being a great slider was in Zach's toolbox.
  15. Carlos Santana is Nelson Cruz light. Doesn't matter the team, the year or his age if he is facing us chances are he's going to do some damage.
  16. Verlander used to do that time to time when he was here and it drove me crazy, granted JV did pickoff his fair share of runners but it felt like the throwing errors/passed balls on the pickoff moves far outweighed that especially when it allowed runners to score like in this situation. To me it just isn't worth trying to get cute and get the rare pickoff in situations like that.
  17. Keith with the Tiger minor league stat line of the year for sure and we're only in the 5th inning!
  18. Riley with a 2 out single but Reynolds robs Javy of extra bases and a likely RBI by making a diving catch.
  19. Keith adds another HR, so he is now 3-3 with 2HRs and a triple!
  20. One time presumed tanking prize Kumar Rocker set to have TJ surgery, announced the day he moved into MLB's top 100.
  21. Not a bad 1st inning for Colt! I'd imagine there haven't been many players in baseball history that have hit a HR and a triple in the 1st inning.
  22. On the surface the Martin pick looks like a reach but its lazy to just look at where a guy is ranked and then presume he should be picked at that spot. Yes overall Martin may have been ranked where he was but the Lions didn't go after him for his overall grade they went after him for a specific skill set that he brings to the table and excels at so in that regard his overall grade is almost irrelevant to them. If you're the Lions you don't want to take the chance that another team has that same thought process which is why they may have taken him a bit early but again better to take a guy too early than not get him at all.
  23. Uh oh, our big rival the Pirates coming to town, definitely a must win series!
  24. It's kinda a double edged sword coaching for a contending team, yeah it's cool to be competing for a championship and having good players to coach but if you don't win the whole thing you very well could be screwed. Atleast when you take over a team like the Pistons you know you're probably getting atleast a few years of security and if you do end up actually winning you can basically name your own price when it comes to getting a raise.
  25. Theres always the hope that Scoot can develop an outside shot, theres been a few example of guys lately who couldn't shoot coming into the league but ended up developing the outside shot.
