  1. This isn't exactly going out on a limb but those Warrior/Lakers games are going to draw serious ratings. Depending on the time slots I wouldn't be surprised if they set records for this round.
  2. Another thing to consider is just how awful Miggy looks, I mean who wants to go see their favorite player looking like that? If he wouldve turned back the clock like Pujols did then maybe his farewell tour would draw more people.
  3. Funny that the Bears and Lions have 2 sets of siblings with the Sewells and St. Browns.
  4. I don't think its fair to compare anybody to Carter since by all accounts he wasn't drafted because of off the field issues. I mean it's like alot of people are suddenly ignoring that and just treating him like there was no problem at all. Before the draft the media folks were talking about the risks involved with drafting him now they give the Eagles a victory lap for not only drafting him but trading up for him.
  5. I think maybe MAYBE Cabrera may have an effect on tickets at the end of the season assuming he is still playing then. Like maybe folks want to go down to see his farewell games but even then I doubt it would be a big number like his milestone chase produced.
  6. You hear about the value thing alot in Fantasy Football as well and rarely in my experience to the people that get the best "value" end up with the best team. For instance people say it's bad value to draft a qb before the third round, well the guy that decides to wait will end up with a mid tier guy but claim he got good value. Meanwhile the dude that took Mahomes in the 2nd will end up scoring 75 more points than the guy that got the good "value" at qb.
  7. The only time I get the value argument if you can confidently say that the guys you picked would've been there the next time you picked but I don't think that was the case with our picks. And even in that case I rather take the player I want too early then miss out on him. In hindsight with the drop of Sanders and Simpson you could possibly say Jack wouldve but at the time you don't know that. He was 1A,1B or 1C for his position depending on where you looked so theoretically all it would've taken was 1 out of the other 31 teams to decide they want to go that position and he could've been gone. Besides like 75٪ of the mocks had us taking a TE with that pick and by the results of the draft that would've been a reach too by their standards.
  8. Depending on the weather I think JVs start may draw marginally more fans over the norm but nothing Earth shattering. I mean I would love to see a big crowd give him a warm welcome but I just don't see it either. If this was 2018 or 19 maybe but not this far removed.
  9. We're going on 6 years since Verlander left and almost 10 since Max left so them returning to pitch here doesnt have the same cache as it wouldve before. Reminds me of when Grant Hill left the Pistons, everybody was anxious to see his return to the Palace but he was injured for like the next 3 years so by the time he finally made his return fans had already moved on and didnt really give a crap.
  10. Kiper gives us a B and criticizes us for "reaching for need" yet every pre draft mock he did had us passing on superior prospects(according to his grades) for position of needs. Can't make this up.
  11. Lol I don't care what happens the rest of the way now that the Bruins lost. Despite having family in Boston I love to see that fan base suffer!
  12. Tork saves a run with a fantastic scoop on a wild Short throw. edit: It appears to have been Javy, for some reason I thought he was still injured. I should've known it was him by the throw.
  13. They might as well take down the HR counter for Miggy cause there's no way he's hitting another one. Even if we were to play with a 100mph tail wind that would still require him to get the ball airborne which isn't happening.
  14. PFF put out their way to early 2024 mock, not sure what they used for the projections but they had the Lions projected to pick 25th with the Eagles and 9ers being the only NFC teams picking after them. Aside from that the one thing that caught my eye was that the Cardinals are projected to have the top 2 picks with the 1st one being the one they got from the Texans for Will Anderson. I'm sure Will Anderson is going to be a stud for Houston but that trade could end up being a franchise changer for Arizona.
  15. Pope Morosi says that JV could make his return this week against the Tigers. I know we have faced him since the trade but has he pitched at Comerica since then? I can't remember, if he hasn't and he indeed does make his return against us that should be a cool scene.
  16. All these internet post draft grades do is just grade teams based off where the online pundits had guys ranked and where you ended up drafting them. If you got fortunate and one of the high ranked guys fell to you then you get a good grade, if you draft a guy that they had ranked lower you get a bad grade. If the draft was that simple you wouldn't need 25 guys in your War room, hell any of us idiot message board posters can look at somebody's big board and make picks just based off that.
  17. Getting no hit for 6 innings then scoring 10+ runs in the 7th seems likes one of those crazy things that may never have been done before or atleast been decades since the last time but nope, happened less than 2 years ago. Never would've thought that.
  18. I'd say if you feel it's top 7 it's an A, 8-14 B, 15-22 C, 23-29 D and F for a bottom 4 unit.
  19. I knew Willie and Verlander for sure. Didn't think about McClain.
  20. "Is Zack Short the SS of the future?" - Random topics from the old board
  21. I see AT Perry is still available, I would love to nab him.
  22. My cousin and Uncle are William and Mary Alum so I guess I'll support the pick just because of that.
  23. His arm strength may not be elite but his deep ball accuracy and touch is what makes the deep ball so good. I watched a few Tennessee games this past year and he threw some dimes that would just drop right into the receiver hands in stride. Was very impressive.
  24. B(if you include the pick and the trade) B+ B A B C Nothing I would say that I absolutely love about the draft thus far(other than Campbell but seeing how far Simpson and Sanders dropped it prevented it from being an A) and nothing I absolutely hated. I question the Martin pick and would've preferred to get an X receiver or one of the few 2nd rd graded corners left instead of Hooker but I can understand the rationale behind the pick.
  25. As horrible as Snacks score is there's no doubt he would look like Usain Bolt next to me.
