  1. Packers schedule was leaked, we get them on Thanksgiving and a Thursday night game in Lambeau in like week 5 or 6.
  2. Birkett confirms the Chiefs opener, also says we have 2 more a Thursday games as well.
  3. Erie wins 1-0 so not much to report on the offensive side, the lone run was driven in by Dingler who went 1-4. The good news from the game though is that judging by the stat line Madden looked alot better throwing 5 shutout innings allowing just 2 hits with 6Ks and no BBs.
  4. This is my thought, even if we don't win the division it would be nice to atleast play in some meaningful games in August and September and keeping E-Rod makes that hope a little more achievable.
  5. Tiger win 5-0 and close out another series win! The 5 run win will help out our all important pythag record!
  6. In his last 38 innings he's only given up 1 run! I'm not sure if even peak JV or Max had a stretch like that for the Tigers.
  7. E-Rod with a 1-2-3 7th to make it 7 shut out innings with 8Ks!
  8. Great to hear from you Bert! Its funny the other day I got a follow suggestion on Twitter who was a Tigers fan with the name Bert in his handle so I thought it may have been our Bert until I clicked on the profile and realized it wasn't. Anyway seeing that then made me think to myself that I hadn't seen any posts from Bert in awhile and it concerned me a bit. Glad to hear that all is well and its funny how things like that work.
  9. I remember hearing that there was/is actual consideration to move the Jags to London for half their home season. They basically would play half their home games at Jax and the other half in London, considering they play in Europe seemingly every year and in some cases multiple times it may be their way of easing into that move. Its funny to somebody like me who has never been to Europe it feels like half a world away when in reality getting there from JFK doesn't take a whole lot longer than some domestic flights depending on where you're from and going. I think it takes about 7hrs from NY to London vs. about 6 to LA but to me it just feels like London is so much further away.
  10. Correa hearing the boo birds in Minny after yet another horrible night. Average currently sits at .186 and OPS at .624. Considering the Twins aren't exactly the Mets or Yankees when it comes to absorbing bad contracts this deal could end up being be a real killer for them going forward...... and I'll enjoy every second of it if it is.
  11. I may be wrong but I think we have won every non ALE series so if that is true we're gonna need this one to keep our Dimaggioesque streak alive!
  12. I don't get the Giants love, I didn't look into their offseason that closely so maybe they added pieces that I'm forgetting about but even so it would need to be alot in my eyes cause I felt they were one of those teams that wasnt nearly as good as their record. Yeah you could say the same about Minny too but the bottom line is atleast they won 13 games where as NY only won 9.
  13. I wouldn't want them to mortgage the future but at the same time I wouldn't necessarily want them to sell off pieces either unless they got a really good return. IDK I'm just tired of having meaningless baseball in August and September, if keeping guys like E-Rod will give us that much more of a chance to atleast be in a pennant race and play meaningful games I'd take that over getting some mid tier prospect(s) or volatile lottery ticket(s). Now if the return is legit high level type prospects then yeah perhaps I'd be willing to sacrifice the possible short term success for that but if not then no just keep the players and let the season play out.
  14. Just looking at the standings and currently the A's are on pace to finish over 90 games back of the Rays in the standings. lol
  15. Odds are you are going to regress to your pythag but seemingly every year there is a team that on paper isn't very good but ends up being in or near the playoffs cause they do indeed outplay it by several to double digit wins. Maybe we will be that team this year.
  16. Andy Ibanez strikes me as one of those guys 10 years or so from now that will be a great answer in a "name a random Tiger from the past" game.
  17. Vecenie has Ivey going 4th and Duren 12th in his redraft which is based not only on their rookie performance but projections going forward. . Says Ivey is the end of a tier then a drop off after him. Has Paulo, Williams and Chet ahead of him.
  18. Back in 2nd place! Alway nice to beat the Ind..I mean Guardians, especially at their place.
  19. We scored 6+ runs only 4 times in our first 23 games, after today's performance that now makes 6 times in the last 10 so the bats are heating up!
  20. I could see alot of those happening but despite us seemingly playing the Packers to end the season every year I think its going to be us and the Vikings since we're viewed as the 2 favorites in the division. I think the league likes the chance of having the division title being decided on week 18 between the teams involved.
  21. Even though he was expecting it we may still need to do a wellness check on Buddha.
  22. Singuel strikes with the leadoff single!
  23. Yeah I thought Ivey was better over the course of the season but Ben got all to the much better start and when it comes to rookie awards I think that matters alot particularly when you play on garbage teams that the media doesn't really pay attention to. It's like the first impressions are what they remember when the voting comes around.
  24. NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NOOOOOOOOOO!!!
