  1. It seems like a reach but him and Bijan were the clear top 2 RBs so all it would've taken was 1 more team that wanted to take a RB and he would've been gone. Probably would've been there at 18 but if you didn't want to miss out on 1 of the top 2 RBs then just take him there and not risk missing out on him.
  2. Now I'm guessing they had Bijan and Gibbs virtually equal so figured 1 of them would still be there at 12 which is why they traded back.
  3. Depends on how their board looked. They very well may get Gonzalez at 12 and pick up a little extra capital. If they would've taken him at 6 to begin with people probably wouldn't have questioned it since many had him as the CB1.
  4. Guess the Eagles just gave up a 4th next year to move up.
  5. Bears will probably end up getting more for moving 1 spot back then we got for moving 6 back.
  6. So do I, if he wasn't on the Lions radar then I guess it doesn't matter but if they traded back in hopes that he may still be there then this trade may come back to bite them.
  7. If the Bears and Eagles pass on Carter then you know there must be some serious concerns among NFL teams.
  8. Don't like that trade cause I have a feeling the Eagles will take Bijan. Not to mention I wouldn't have passed on Carter but I guess that's defensible if his issues turned them off.
  9. Well now if Carter isn't on the Lions board then definitely Bijan or bust!
  10. If Carter goes to Seattle and we can't trade back then Bijan or bust for me.
  11. I liked it at first cause I didn't think it was going to take that much but after seeing what it took I don't get it. They do have a ton of draft capital in the future though and walked away with arguably the best QB and best defender in the draft but that first next year just seems like way too much.
  12. Forgot they had multiple 1sts, has it been confirmed that they are trading their own or somebody elses?
  13. Damn that's a great get for AZ cause unless Stroud comes in and has a rookie year like Herbert chances are the Texans are still going to struggle next year so there is a more than 50/50 chance that pick is in the top 10 if not top 5.
  14. Texans played that brilliantly, waited to trade up till after they drafted Stroud so the price and demand may not be as high vs. if they traded up an hour ago. Gotta wonder though since they were linked to Wilson up until a few days ago if they would've went with him if the injury news didn't come out.
  15. Yeah that's where I'm at. If this was 2021 and we were more than likely destined for a couple rebuild years before we sniffed the playoffs then I wouldn't do it but since we should be competing for the playoffs for the next few years I think it's a perfect time to grab him and take advantage of his young prime years. If he flames out in 4 years but helps us win a division or two or God forbid make a deep playoff run will we really care if he didn't have a ton of longevity?
  16. If Carter and Anderson are gone and we stay at 6 I think I'm on the Bijan train. I just think back to how potent our offense was when Swift was at his best and Bijan has even more upside than that so the thought of adding that is just too tempting for me to pass up.
  17. That would be sweet to get Hopkins and 3 assuming the Lions would be willing to take Carter cause that would mean we'd be guaranteed one of Anderson or him plus get a WR that could help us immediately.
  18. Oh wow did not know that, thanks for the heads up. So if by some miracle Javy opts out and signs elsewhere we wouldn't get a comp for him either then?
  19. Trout and Ohtani are on pace for over 20 WAR between them yet the Angels are only .500. It's just a shame their talents have been wasted on such terrible teams, talk about squandering 2 generational talents like that. edit: meant to put this in the general regular season thread, oh well my lack of posting awareness would fit right in on the rest of the Angels team I guess.
  20. Or his throwing was so good they figured something must be wrong with him.
  21. Not on a rookie contract so there's no use for him, surprised a smart org like the Ravens didn't get that memo.
  22. I think if Holmes does trade back into the 1st it would be shortly after we pick at 18. Like if there are a few guys he has his eye on there I think he would take the one he likes best then almost immediately try to trade back up to get the next one. I don't see him waiting till say 27-31 to see if he drops there before trying to get him. He just strikes me as the type of guy that if he really wants somebody he isn't going to sit around and wait unless he is either really confident he is going to drop or if there are multiple guys he likes the same and can wait it out until it gets down to just that 1 player.
