  1. If we stayed at 6 and took Richardson I wouldn't like it nor agree with it but I could see the rationale that it may be worth taking a chance on him since the talent level available at 6 this year is so so in regards to what you normally would expect there. Not to mention you also have 18th pick and multiple 2nds this year to fill other needs so again this year may be the year to take a swing for the fences. OTOH if you trade up for him you are likely giving up atleast 1 of those next 3 picks to fill other needs that I talked about and passing on a guy in Anderson who most people feel is actually a premium talent that would be worthy of a top 3 pick in just about any draft. So yeah I would be pretty upset if they traded up to 3 only to take Richardson.
  2. We may suck still with the new coach and show that Casey wasn't the issue but sooner or later you have to atleast try something different cause things weren't working here with him.
  3. Beckam gets 15m guaranteed. That's insanity, Lamar would be wise to pick up his agent. Speaking of which it sounds like they plan to give Lamar what he wants cause paying a WR that tells me they must plan on having a capable guy to get the ball and Pro Bowler Ty Huntley isnt that guy.
  4. Not exactly going out on a limb but I got Giannis and the Bucks winning again. My rooting interest is the Nets though just cause I would love to spite KD and Kyrie.
  5. Casey just said that he is indeed stepping down as Head Coach and moving to the Front Office.
  6. Tim Byrdak was solid out of the bullpen in 07, only Tim that comes to mind.
  7. Not only are the Rays 8-0 but they won every game by 4 or more runs, that is just insane. I have to believe there haven't been many instances in MLB history where a team has won that many games in a row by that much runs.
  8. That was so awesome! Youkilis had/has an all time great punchable face so seeing him get judo thrown by a skinny 21 year old kid was the best!
  9. I can't leave the area for a multiple of reasons but if I could Chicago would definitely be at the top of my list. Definitely no other city I'd rather be at in the summer time, for my money best city in the country in the summer.
  10. Outside of Lange and Manning(when he is on) nobody on this roster has big league caliber stuff. It's like everybody else throws low 90s FBs with no life or command along with lollipop breaking balls. Virtually every other team you watch has a ton of guys that may not have the best command atleast are capable of throwing plus stuff we don't have any of them aside from the two I mentioned.
  11. I'm just glad for his sake he is playing here and not for the Red Sox or in NY. I can only imagine with how brutal their media and fanbase are the kinda crap that he would have to hear and deal with.
  12. It's a shame how much of society treats mental illness in general.
  13. Yep, as I mentioned above with my anxiety disorder I am fine 99+% of the time(by fine I mean relatively speaking) but once in a while in certain situations despite therapy and medication I still get attacks and breakdowns usually in high stress environments with people. It has cost me or atleast kept me from pursuing several promotions throughout my life just because of the environment that came with it. I couldn't imagine struggling with it and trying to have a job like a pro athlete.
  14. Yeah I don't see anyway you can prove it nor do I think that was the sole motivation behind the trade but they may have seen the signs or he may have said things in passing to coaches/players/management that made them think something wasn't right. I've been taking medication to treat my social anxiety disorder since I was 17 so the illness hits home to me. I've tried numerous times over the last 25 years to get off the medication and when I do my close friends/family along with myself noticed a difference in me for the worse so I end up going back on them.
  15. In lieu of the Meadows news here's the updated lineup. Baddoo not only gets the call up and start but gets the leadoff spot as well.
  16. Also the Meadows injury is listed as "anxiety" so sadly it seems that he is still struggling from his mental illness. I am starting to be of the belief that TB totally knew about it or atleast suspected it when they traded him.
  17. Just announced that Meadows to the DL and Badoo called up so there you have it.
  18. Also we all know the Lions history but it's not like they were just these cellar dwellars when both retired, When Barry retired they made the playoffs 4 of previous 5 years and with Calvin were just a year removed from an 11 win season. Ironically enough they made the playoffs again both times the year they retired so it's not like they were surrounded by total scrubs.
  19. I'd rather them demand a trade vs. just up and quitting leaving the org high and dry. Atleast then they may have gotten something in return for them.
  20. Yeah when I read some of the quotes that I believe Kidd said yesterday I thought to myself "Wow I can't believe they are just openly admitting this." I know it would've been obvious but maybe they could've atleast lied and said something like they were giving their guys the night off to rest so they would be a 100% if they make the play in game and since Chicago was resting their guys they figured it would be a good game to do it. IDK something better than flat out saying that you are going to take a step back this year(miss playoffs keep the pick) for the long term health of your organization in the future.
  21. Nick Baumgartner of The Athletic put out a new 3 round mock yesterday and he has us taking Will Anderson at 3(gave up 6 and 48), Bijan at 18, Hooker at 55 and Denton at 81. Like a couple other mocks I've seen I question the low cost they have for trading up but if that is indeed all it takes I think they'd be crazy not to unless of course they just don't value Anderson or anybody else that much more than other guys. I would love the Bijan pick at 18 in general but in his scenario of us not only giving up a 2nd but using the other one on Hooker makes me not like it as much since those are 2 picks we can't use on more pressing needs like DB and LB. Love Denton at 81 but don't think he's going to be there that late.
  22. Yeah I rarely watch full games anymore but I tune in basically every game for stretches and I've been really impressed with Ivey's play atleast on the offensive end. Admittedly I'm not the best at gauging defense unless it's something that is completely obvious so it's hard for me to comment on that but by most accounts its where he struggles. Is there any hope that he can atleast be adequate there in the future?
  23. I hope they get him, I think he'd be the perfect backup, he's more than capable relative to most backups but he isn't some huge name or huge character(like say a Cam Newton) that can cause of a distraction. He seems like he is a guy that would know what his job entails and what he was here for and would do what the team asks of him.
