I think it's between Detroit and Chicago, the game is in November and by all accounts the Lions SHOULD be alot more competitive and have a better record than the Bears which is why folks seem to think it's going to be Detroit. Theoretically you would think the NFL would want to put out the most meaningful and competitive game possible and the Lions should be the better option to give you that.

Seeing alot of rumbling online that the Lions are likely going to be the Chiefs opponent in Germany next season. If so that's a little bit of a break not having to face them in a true road situation.

CBS sports just put out their 2022 redraft and an amazing 4 Lions picks ended up going in the 1st round in the re-draft. Aidan stayed at number 2(Sauce went 1) followed by Rodrigo, Joseph in the 20s and rounding out the 1st they had us taking Jamo with the Rams pick.

I wonder if the lack of 60 win teams in the 70s had anything to do with the ABA merger? Seems kinda random that period is the only time in history that had a stretch like that.

"Different feeling around the team this year, the boys are just being looser and having fun vs. playing tight last year. AJ thinks their relaxed attitude is going to carry over onto the field and lead to more wins." -

But you got to factor in he's in the best shape of life, no way he can get hurt. -
I also remember once Fairley dropped to a certain point people started speculating/hoping that there was a real possibility that we could get him and then the Texans took JJ Watt and I got super excited cause then I knew one of Fairley or Prince Akamura would be available at our pick. The fact that I thought the Texans were stupid to take Watt over them two shows why Im not an NFL exec.

About the last part, I asked him once if the organization's history of developing certain positions or attributes effect his view on a prospect and he said he doesnt factor that in at all in his grades.
-
Iirc pre draft Fairley was basically considered that drafts Jalen Carter. The thought of him dropping to us wasn't even in anybody's mind so I don't think any of us even brought his name up pre draft.

Im glad the long pants over the cleats look that Manny Ramirez made popular appears to have faded out. Always hated that look. -
Speaking of this I came across this video yesterday and its painful to watch. For those that can't handle the pain of watching the video the answer is 7, 7 freaking times Altuve rounded the bases inbetween pitches by this guy, that's like a half of mile worth of baserunning. Insane!

Lol gotta admit that is me. I just feel that offense is far more important than defense and all things being equal will take the offensive player over the defensive one. If we were at the point where there was no margin for improvement for the offense than sure go with "team needs" but we're not there yet. We still can be even better so as long as there is room for improvement you should always be open to looking at that position even if you have more pressing needs elsewhere. After all the name of the game is to outscore your opponent whether that's 50-49 or 3-0. With that said Im not advocating going offense early just that I have an open mind to it cause I know how valuable it is.
-
I know we need some pieces defensively but to me I think the way to win in the NFL is to have the most explosive offense as possible and just have a defense that isnt a disaster(like we were early in the season). So for that reason I wouldn't be against taking an Olineman or even Bijan if it made the offense that much better.
-
I think Campbell was the one that said that what he hears is that Bijan won't make it past 6, I didn't put much stock into it when I read it cause I was unfamiliar with him but if he indeed has legit connections than him saying that really makes me wonder if are going to take him.

All I can think of late in his career is when VMart hurt his side in one our playoff series only for McCarver to use this gem "baseball is a game of oblique angles.... and injuries." I remember just cringing when he said that.
-
Maybe it happens often but I just can't recall ever hearing of a qb getting "arm fatigued" or "dead arm", especially if you factor in how young he is.
-
Kinda weird to see a team in Cleveland's position do a buyout this stage in the year. Seems to normally be reserved for the cellar dwellars.
-
Idk what all went into these workouts but on the surface this just sounds strange and if you're the 49ers pretty concerning. As great as that franchise has been run that Lance pick and trade could end up being an all time bad trade/pick.
-
Yeah Id be OK with the rule of they waited to the 11th but doing it in the 10th seems premature. Atleast give teams 1 inning to try to win the real way.

I predicted Tork would be the first true fluff piece but it seems I picked the wrong Spenny T. Shouldve known it would be a pitcher since they report first. -
From everything I could find its only for HC and GM unfortunately.

I agree they def need corners but again to me it comes down to how Holmes views all these top corners. I've seen as many as 6 CBs with 1st round grades all of which are separated by only a couple points, if he feels similar in the fact that they are all essentially the same then he can wait till 18 and get one. OTOH there seems to only be 2 1st rd graded O-lineman and only 1 RB so you're not going to get a similar one if you wait on them. With that said I have my doubts that he would take an O lineman in the 1st even with that in mind but if he does I'd be willing to bet reasons such as that are why. He's all about getting the highest value guys regardless of position or need hence why he traded up for Jamo last year and then drafted a dlineman in the 2nd despite us having far more pressing needs in the secondary.

Funny you say that cause No joke I just went to tankathon to see where we were at after the Charlotte/San Antonio game(we moved up to 3) and since I was there I figured I sim it a few times, the first time I did the Bulls got the 1st pick and we dropped to 6. Then out of curiosity I wanted to see how long it would take for us to get 1 and it took me 9 tries. -
