Would Skoronski be able to play guard until we move on from Decker? I assume the answer would be yes but I also have heard that just cause you can play tackle doesn't mean you can play guard or atleast play it at a high level. Kinda like in baseball where if your SS people just assume you will be elite when you move down the defensive spectrum but that isn't always the case.

First time I heard the name was when my childhood friend named his son that in 2005. He sent me a text when he was born with the name and I responded with something like "is that Jake with a C or did you just mistype?" He smartened me up that it rhymes with pace. Now I see that name everywhere. -
The biggest question about the Cade pick to me is what was offered to him that he turned down? There were rumors of Houston wanting to give up a bunch to swap picks and even OKC giving up SGA, 7th pick and possibly more. If Cade doesn't turn into that superstar we hoped and there was legitimacy to some of the offers than that will be a major kick in the nuts.

McShay has us taking Murphy and Ringo in his latest mock. Btw he Has Porter, Weatherspoon and Gonzalez all going right before the Ringo pick. If it played out like that in real life I could see Holmes moving to make sure he secured his guy instead of being stuck with the leftover.

The one thing the Bears do have in regards to possibly extracting more value from Fields is that the team around him is a complete dumpster fire. There may be a team(s) out there that blames that for his struggles passing instead of putting the onus on him. If he had a decent squad around him and still sucked you wouldn't have any excuses.

Mize says his back has been bothering him "for awhile". Not sure what that means, does it mean months or several years? Like was it bothering him when we drafted him but our crack medical staff couldn't detect it? I don't know much about back injuries so maybe they are hard to detect but if somebody has been bothered by them for seemingly a long time you think somebody would have picked up on it at some point. -
Rebuilds can happen fast in the NFL but the Bears seem like they are atleast a couple seasons away from being legit so it may be in their best interest to see what they can get for Fields and start fresh with a Bryce Young this year. If you're not going to be good for another couple seasons now Fields is in year 4 or 5 and is going to expensive, on top of that you added another 2 to 3 years of punishment on his body. You don't want him to start breaking down right when you're ready to take that next step forward.

Were Power rankings around when the Lions went to the Conference Championship game? If not that may be the highest final ranking they have ever gotten by anybody. Hell you could probably count on 2 or possibly even 1 hand how many times they were ranked higher than that at any point during the season before.

I've mentioned this before but I think playing for a winner means more in other sports namely basketball than it does in baseball cause in other sports your legacy is completely tied to how well your team does. Baseball being a much more individual stat based sport it really doesn't matter how your team fairs as evidence of Trout being viewed as the consensus best player in baseball for the past decade. Any other sport there'd be no way he'd even be in the conversation due to his team's success no matter how good his stats were. -
It always amazes me the memory athletes have to remember specific plays and what they were thinking long after they happen. Like I can see major moments but it can just be a random play from a random game and if you refresh their memory enough they'll remember it. I suppose as an avid golfer I kinda get it, I couldn't tell you what I had for lunch yesterday but if you ask me about a specific shot from months or in some cases years prior I can remember exactly what club I was hitting.

Not sure if it's been mentioned or not but Manfred announced that the extra inning runner at 2nd rule that everybody loves so much has now been made official for every game going forward.

I agree that considering the situation it isn't an upgrade but in a vacuum an OC is higher on the coaching ladder than Running Backs coach/Asst. HC right? Just wondering why else he would even consider going there other than he has already had a bad vibe/experience in just the 1 week he has been here.
-
Jeez only been here like a week but OC is an upgrade over being an Asst. Head Coach right?

Lions are at number 12 on ESPN's "way too early rankings", not sure if that already factors in things like upcoming draft capital or how well you are going to be positioned in FA but if it doesnt don't be surprised if we move even higher come preseason.

Well said. I think if they highlighted the view during the broadcast where you could see the blatant jersey grab this whole thing wouldn't have gotten as big as it did but for some reason all the announcers and replays kept highlighting was the soft contact AFTER the jersey grab so viewers were thinking that was why it was a penalty. I believe the only time the jersey grab was brought up during the game was when Peirera mentioned it but the guys in the truck still refused to go cut to that replay even after he said it
-
Bradberry admitted in his presser that he held his jersey but hoped he'd get away with it. Normally I'm in the mindset of "let them play" in close situations and if the penalty didn't effect the outcome of the play I'd still agree with that mindset but in this instance that wasn't the case. That jersey pull did impact the play, that slowed the receiver up just enough for the ball to be overthrown.

If the trade doesn't go through and we don't end up with Wiseman then you just know he's going to break out and fulfill his pre-draft potential.

Duren still playing hard and going after every loose ball. He's looking like young Drummond except with a heart and better post moves. -

Been watching some of the game tonight and nothing too exciting other than Duren making a few sweet moves in the post. Also can't believe Stanley Johnson is still in the league. Amazing that he has carved out an 8 year career for himself thus far. -
From what I remember of the 2020 draft I think most saw Edwards as the only potential star and even he wasnt a sure thing by many due to his shooting numbers in the SEC. I think Del was always down on Killian but I think aside from him most on here were fine with the pick. I think the consensus was that Hali may have been the safer pick but Hayes had more upside but I could be wrong about that.
