  1. It was only 85 degrees today, don't worry once it gets into the 100s the guys will start hitting.
  2. Barring a little 9th inning rally this will be the 7th time in our last 14 games we've scored 1 run or less, plus another 4 times we scored only 2 runs so in total 11 out of the last 14 we've could've had prime Koufax on the mound and chances are we would've lost or best case went to extra innings.
  3. I always got a kick out of how George Blaha would say Chicago, he'd pronounce like Chi-caw-go or sometimes even Chi-call-go.
  4. Also its not uncommon for even the best prospects to struggle out of the gate in the big leagues. Iirc Trout didnt exactly light the world on fire in his first stint in 2011.
  5. Nate maybe remembered more as a Viking but I think he sees himself as a Lion cause he would often openly cheer for them and say things like "my Lions".
  6. Gotta wonder if part of that is to just entertain the crowd that stuck around in the blowout or to lighten the mood for the team that just got blownout cause like others have said with all the pitchers teams carry nowadays youd think it they wouldn't need to do that except for the most extreme and rare exceptions.
  7. In a year where offense is way down Mike Trout hit 2 more HRs today to give him 9 on the year and raised his OPS to about 1.200. The greatest player of this generation just keeps getting better and finally for him it appears the Angels are too, the win today moves them to 21-12 on the season.
  8. If there is one good thing to come so far from this dumpster fire of a season is seeing guys like Brieske and Faedo look half way decent up here. Its only been like a handful of starts between them so tiny sample size but if they do turn out to be legit mid level starters that could be big for us. That could allow to perhaps trade a Mize and/or Manning for a bat if/when they regain their trade value.
  9. Yup, 37 million a year for probably 20 games a year so damn near 2 million a game. Im pretty sure that's more than most Americans will make in their lifetimes.
  10. Meadows seemingly has had a few of those type of balls this year. I have a feeling he's gonna start a little HR hot streak coming up.
  11. The As are getting shutout cause the Comerica scoreboard is prepared to have a bunch of zeroes for the home team.
  12. Somebody needs to do a wellness check on Montas and the rest of the As pitchers for atleast the next couple days. Giving up runs to this team is the type of thing that makes you question your existence.
  13. OSU got a commitment from 2024 5* and number 1 qb overall Dylan Raiola. And yes that is former Lions Dominic Railoa's son.
  14. Clicked on the mlb app and saw the 2 next to our name and I instantly heard Al Michaels scream "Do you believe in miracles....yes!"
  15. Id say he is our only chance!
  16. Brady signed a 10 year 375 million dollar deal with Fox to call games once he retires. Just insane! Of course at the rate he is going that may be 20 years from now so the money may not seem as crazy.
  17. Find you somebody that loves you the way Al and AJ love Willi.
  18. Is the over/ under on hits really only 4.5? Lol if so that is crazy.
  19. Ive heard that it can be more difficult gauging flyballs in mlb parks due to the upper levels of seating so maybe Ill give him some leeway there but still it baffles me how a big league player isn't capable of tracking flyballs correctly. I only played through HS and by JV level virtually everybody I played with or against could do it, by Varsity you very rarely ever seen somebody not track one right yet a major leaguer who is supposed to be the best of the best can't do it. It's crazy to me.
  20. Well it sucks that it was an at'em ball but on the plus side it was nice to see some more hard contact from Schoop.
  21. Whoa a hard hit ball for a double, shocking! of course it comes with 2 outs so it's likely not going to lead to anything.
  22. I hope you're right but I think Schoop may be toast. He'll probably put together a relatively decent stretch cause even if he is toast I don't think he is truly this bad but after things correct themself I don't see him being anymore than maybe a mid 600s OPS type of guy. That's basically what he was last year aside from that one hot month he had.
  23. I feel like Avila's thought process was in the right place for many of his moves but unfortunately for him virtually none of them panned out aside from maybe getting Candy and Paredes(which in turn brought in Meadows) for Wilson. Even that though wasn't exactly a major home run yet unless Candy can bounce back to where he was last year. Then as far as the draft goes, Jobe was a questionable pick but aside from him I thought the last few drafts looked good at the time of the draft but again the vast majority haven't taken any steps forward so in turn it hasnt worked out. So the question is are the Tigers and Avila bad at identifying talent or how to project them or are they just bad at improving and developing the talent?
  24. To be fair Avila talked about making these changes when he took over for Dombrowski. Perhaps they didn't come to fruition cause Mike didn't believe in it so it took his death for the organization to fully embrace it?
