  1. Kiley McDaniel of ESPN put out his top 100 and he has Greene at 5, Tork at 7, Jobe at 58...and Dingler at 86.
  2. Yes I'm raining on Stafford's parade but I just want to say that he did have like the easiest playoff path you could possibly get. Arizona looked terrible the last 6 weeks, the Bucs were missing their top 2 WRs, top OT, and 3 starters on defense and lost to the Jets 2 weeks prior with that lineup, the 49ers were a 6 seed and Bengals a 4. The point I'm getting at is I think if Staff got those slate of teams the years we made the playoffs we may have been able to make a run at things.
  3. My girl Lilly.
  4. There's some Aaron Donald retirement rumors floating around and he isn't denying them, I wouldn't be opposed to that.
  5. Ill support the pick if that happens but I hope it doesn't. My philosophy is that if you don't think the QB is worth taking at 2 then chances are he's not going to amount to much in the NFL. Also I don't think the Lions are in position to just take a flyer on a QB and hope that he is one of the outliers that get drafted late in the 1st or after and pan out.
  6. Also I just don't see Holmes taking a QB early in this draft particularly with how Goff closed the season. For better or worse I get the vibe that he is extremely stubborn with Goff and is going to give him every chance to succeed and try to build a competent team around him first before giving up on him. If he looks like crap next year and a CJ Stroud or Bryce Young are available then I think he will pull the trigger but until then I think Goff is his guy and I have no problem with that.
  7. I would love to trade down but the only way I see that happening is if a team falls in love with a QB and if that were the case chances are they would just make the deal with Jax to ensure that they get the QB. Of course Jax may not be interested on trading down and want to just sit tight and take whomever they want, in which case a team could trade with us after that but I think that is highly unlikely. I guess after thinking about it maybe two qbs separate themselves and 1 team trading for the 1st pick and another the 2nd is another outside possibility.
  8. I wonder how many casual fans even know there is a strike going on right now? I was at my parents yesterday for the Super Bowl and my Step Dad and his friend said something like "shouldnt Spring Training be starting up here soon?" and when I told them about the strike they had no idea. My Step Dad is usually who I use as the barometer for casual fan, he's somebody that watches about half of the games but doesn't listen to sports talk radio and certainly doesn't go on the internet to talk about sports. Any sports information he gets is from the local news and my siblings and me.
  9. Stafford with the arm punt on 3rd and long, no harm no foul there on 3rd and long from that point in the field, an interception in the end zone is basically the same as an incompletion and ensuing punt/touchback.
  10. One thing to keep in mind on these trades is that yeah prospects in general are risky but what makes it even riskier is the team trading them knows more about them then the team trading for them so they are going to be more apt to trade the guys that may have drawn some red flags from their scouts or analytics departments. The guys with the lowest risk are guys that the team probably isn't going to want to get rid of and are just going to keep for themselves. That's not to say that prospects you trade for don't pan out but I think generally there must be some sorta flaws in them that you either have to work out once you get them or hope that the player just overcomes them.
  11. James Edwards says Cade is active tonight so maybe this game will be watchable.
  12. They definitely need to get rid of Casey, I know this roster isn't good to say the least but even if it was I don't have the confidence in him that he would maximize it. I'm hoping that Weaver is just keeping him around for the time being knowing that we aren't going to contend anyway, kinda like the Tigers did with Gardenhire but when that time comes when they plan to compete they find somebody else.
  13. The only thing I can think of is that they wanted to get a feel of his personality, how he fits here, if he improves at all away from Sacramento etc. instead of signing him unknowingly in the offseason. Of course whether that is worth 2 second round picks is to be debated.
  14. RBs are replaceable though, Henry missed most of the season yet Tennessee still finished with the best record in the AFC, the Rams made the Super Bowl with virtually nothing from Akers. The Cowboys drafted Elliott in the top 5 and they had their best season to date with him despite him having his worst season.
  15. I was thinking about this last night, yeah Bagley was a top 5 pick so perhaps Weaver thinks there is some untapped potential there but how many cases in history has that actually worked out? Chauncey comes to mind but I can't think of any other off the top of my head where a top pick struggled for more than 2 years, the team gave up on him and he ended full filling his potential elsewhere. I'm sure it has happened but I can't think of any.
  16. Lunardi still has Michigan out of the tournament, only reason I'm surprised by that is that their BPI is 24 and I thought that was the biggest metric the committee used but Lunardi is rarely wrong so if he still has them out I'm going to trust him.
  17. Just for fun I'd figure I'd do a mock with no trades. The board didn't exactly turn out like I wanted to, I didnt want to take a CB with our Rams pick but the top 6 WRs were gone so I went with McCreary cause I felt him along with Stingley and Gardner were the top tier CBs then a drop off after. Ebiketie is a beast and I think will probably go in the top 20 in the real draft so getting him in the 2nd I thought was a steal. Skye Moore I had as the 8th WR but from 7-12 I feel were all similar that's why I passed with the Rams pick so getting him with pick 101 I liked. Hassan I just took as a homer pick, that's about the round I like to take a RB and he happened to be the best one available so I went with him. The rest I can't say I put any thought into just grabbed who was ranked highest according to PFF at that position.
  18. Jesus I just went and looked at that 93 team and I didn't realize how stacked it was, I was just a kid at that time so I only paid attention to HRs but looking at their OPS+ and it's nuts. They had 6 guys with 400+PAs with 130+ OPS+ and then Fielder with a 124 OPS+. I'm sure there is a way to look it up but I don't know how to but I would like to know how many teams throughout history could say that if any.
  19. Law has changed the way he writes now too, it wasn't just Tigers fans that thought he hated them it was all because of the tone he would use. Even if he liked something or somebody he would spend more time highlighting the negatives and then maybe just put a little snippet of the positives. He doesn't seem to do that anymore. Like even in his chat the other day a Tigers fan basically was putting down our team about how horrible we draftex the past 20 years and how we can't find guys out of the first round and he's like "its hard to find guys like that, they found Skubal and have Kreidler and Dingler who I like, it hasn't been that bad. " like he was talking the fan off the ledge. He never used to be like that.
  20. Yeah and I think he genuinely hated how we constructed the teams back then, it went against everything he liked. Like we basically ignored the draft by giving up picks to sign relievers and DHs, which went against his mentality, gave out huge contracts to guys that didn't look like would age well and would trade what good prospects we had for players that weren't exactly superstars like Sanchez,Infante and Fister. I remember him loving the Granderson trade cause that fit his taste on what he liked, trade a guy who is going to be expensive for 2 cost controlled players with upside.
  21. This team is just a train wreck right now. I hope the fans in attendance atleast get to see a Ja poster dunk or something. In other games Doncic just put up 28 in the first quarter with 7 3s against the Clips.
  22. Law had high praise for Greene, said he has "wicked bat speed" and can handle center field for the foreseeable future but would be plus at the corners. Also says that "I can easily see him being a 300/400/.550 guy and if he does he would on the short list for best player in baseball"
  23. On the flip side The Athletic gave us an A minus and said they loved the deal for us.
  24. James Edwards has an article up now on the Athletic about the deadline, he doesn't specifically say what they turned down but says that from what he heard they were asking for 2 1st rounders or a young player(s) that could be a part of their future.
  25. I also feel with Lions fans part of the reason most are rooting so hard for Stafford is cause as Lions fan we never won anything so it's almost like those fans are trying to live their Lions fandom vicariously through Stafford since to them this is like the closest they ever gotten to celebrating a win in the NFL. I just don't feel that way at all or share that experience. Im not looking forward to this SB anymore or any less than any other one.
