  1. It seems to me the big dividing line between the Pro Trade folks and the Anti Trade folks is on the return for Skubal. With no knowledge of actual proposals to access (ignoring the crap from writers that need to file a story) I tend to be in the Anti camp, but willing to change if a great return is offered. Until then, it’s all speculation and wishcasting. Show me the confirmed deals. Most never do come out in the open, some get a glimpse of what was a possibility.
  2. I know there’s still the playoff to focus on, but the look on Cignetti’s face as he walked across the field after the victory- not a hint of positive emotion. 😶
  3. I’m pretty sure it’s December 4th. The season doesn’t start next week.
  4. You agreed I was correct with what I said - and then went off the rails about what some on the left believes (or your opinion of same). Most of the “left” people I know, and lots of centrist people believe the immigration issue is a mess. Despite efforts that have been made to fix it, the “right” -to use your simple labels- doesn’t want to fix it. So they can continue to stoke anger and resentment all the while getting piles of cash sent to them.
  5. We don’t now, or at any time in the last few administrations, have open borders. Anyone who uses that term just advertises their dishonesty, and in most cases, racism.
  6. I’m sure some ICE personnel are decent people, but others seem to enjoy the cruelty they are able to use on people. And with recent hiring blitz, the proportion of bullies and thugs has gone up. This cruelty is part of the plan by Steven Miller and the rest of the fascist, anti-American dregs.
  7. Sounds like a concept of a plan.
  8. Thanks, Cas. I made a batch yesterday. What is this thing you call a recipe?
  9. I wouldn’t describe an extension to Skubal as a Harris decision, it clearly is a Skubal decision. Harris can only decide to offer same, not make it happen.
  10. This. He’s always been an attention whore. Plus his take on political policies was never based on any sort of principle or values learned from experience with the public’s lives. All just an opportunity to grift and bask in the limelight.
  11. Add to this the number of men that are ammosexuals.
  12. It’s going to be a long off season…
  13. Same for me, I have the app on my phone and an ipad, the latter is my main viewing option.
  14. Their Lt. Gov. candidate is named Void.
  15. Hoping T-Mobile keeps the free MLB games access (even if fewer games are available there).
  16. In related news, Tyler Guyton sings a contract with Manchester United.
  17. We have another week to see if Torres accepts the QO. That likely affects various potential options/plans by the Tigers. Either in terms of where a player like Bichette might play on the field or if some of the many MiLB IFs would be offered in trade.
  18. Doesn’t differing ability to do the “see” part of that phrase define how well a hitter does the “hit” part? It’s expected that hitters will crush a mistake pitch, a hung slider or cutter that stays true. But those cookies do get popped up or sprayed foul. With so short a time recognize a pitch, plot its path and coordinate a swing, failure is the norm. McGonigle does mention some areas he feels he needs to improve on, or at least be aware of how a pitcher might try to defeat him. And he has worked on his bat speed (an area the coaches have assisted in) to at the least foul off the pitches he didn’t see well or were too well placed to barrel up. I am eager to find out if his approach and skills continue to work well as he moves up levels. The contrast with Tork is significant to me.
  19. Remember when we included Jung in our list of prospects? It seems longer ago than it actually is…
  20. Interesting that the interview mentioned Riley, and strikeouts, and towards the end, not hunting the perfect pitch to drive (Tork?). I’m eager to see McGonigle move up.
  21. How much different is it in calling Cam Robinson a starting LT than calling Skipper a starting LT? Neither one would hold such a position for long if not for being emergency fill-in. Robinson was probably better than Skipper, but not dramatically so.
  22. Echoing Roundsquare, I appreciate your sharing of the procedures and implications for the rosters.
  23. Didn’t the NHL put limits on contract length after teams were putting long out years to spread annual cap ceilings?
  24. A reminder of the sign I saw at the recent protest: Patriots defy dictators, cowards serve them.
