The Jets OL issues outweigh their QB issues. I’m not sure they can go to any of those vets without getting them killed. Wilson’s ability to run for his life may be their best option.

Week Two: Seattle Seahawks (0-1) @ Detroit Lions (1-0)

Nelson hasn’t played well in a few years. He’s going to need to step up his game. Next man up. -
Justin trusts MSU leadership to follow the rules much more than I do. Maybe they were quiet tonight because they knew more than they should’ve all along. Title IX rules are the AD isn’t supposed to know the details of the complaint. After all that has gone down the past few years, I’m not ready to just take MSU leadership at their word that they know the rules. With this administration, it’s easier to believe they botched protocol and shared important details with the wrong people when they weren’t supposed to.

Probably a newly hired crisis management firm already at work.

If he wants to keep being a football coach then he doesn’t have many good options. The best thing he can probably do is deny everything and let MSU fire him. Work with the university to have them use some of the remaining contract to pay her off to keep quiet and avoid any future lawsuits from her. MSU could easily be sued since she was a vendor alleging misconduct against a high ranking school leader. They have some motivation to make this whole thing go away and not just Mel. Tucker is still a Saban guy and while he’ll still be too hot to hire right now in the Bama coaching reclamation project, St. Nick can get him a pro job next year and then he can hire Tuck on the Bama staff in 2025. He can start his slow rise back up and if he’s lucky get another hc job in 5 or 6 years. This only works if everything stays quiet and he never has to explain himself and this situation further.

As does, he’s finished.

Things get worse for MSU with every hour that goes by with Mel Tucker not being suspended from his duties. Being accused of sexual harassment by the person that you hired to teach your team about sexual harassment is idiotic enough but this is the foremost expert on the subject within the college football community. She’s been hired and on site at at least half the programs in D1 and knows just about everyone in the college coaching profession. This is such a poor lapse in judgment and not something that MSU can look past especially with their recent history. I feel bad for Mel’s wife. That’s a lot of divorce money that she’s not going to see when MSU claws back $70M of his contract. Um, not quite. You don’t know so it’s cool.

Mel Tucker is done. What an absolute moron. Getting involved with her is one of the dumbest decisions he could make. Goodbye 95M contract and so long the hope of ever head coaching again. The only way anyone could survive this is if they were coaching at Michigan.

The video is great. I don’t love the song but it’s better than what I expected a new Stones song to sound like now. I’m not sure why they are making new music at this point of their journey but I definitely give them props for staying creative and trying something new and still taking chances.

Lions 12 -5 - 2nd place NFC North. Lose a WC game to Dallas on a horrendous no called pass interference on a pivotal play late.

One of the things that has me really excited seems to be flying under the radar in most of the Lions pre season hype frenzy. Hutch Year 2 He played great last year and should only get better. Based on what he showed as a rookie along with his talent, there is a very real possibility that he could become next Bosa, Watt, or Crosby and take a huge step this season. I’m also expecting huge things from Brian Branch but that’s for another post. -
Such an odd game. Dabo was 58-0 as a coach when his team was over 200 yards in both rushing and passing. 3 redzone turnovers including 1st and G at the 1 twice and they got zero points.

You mean we aren’t trading him for Chris Jones? Damn. -
I expect that we will start seeing more of these marquee early season games as the playoffs expand and the TV networks take over more control of the game from the NCAA.
-
It seems like just the other day that Michigan fans were the ones really upset that Harbaugh had support of his team.
-
Bummer that Cam Rising and Kuithe are both out for Utah. Not sure what we are going to see from Graham Mertz and the Gators but I’m not sure it will be good.

Awesome that you are making the trip. I have very little desire of ever attending another road Lions game in most NFL stadiums but Arrowhead is an exception. Seems a great place with decent folks that aren’t savage aholes like in Philly or SF. Have a killer trip and enjoy the BBQ and a Lions win. 42-27 Lions Like the 2017 season opener when Alex Smith led a young KC team into Gillette for a stunning victory over the defending champs on ring night. -

He started out so well early in camp but faded towards the end.

Interested to see how the organizational philosophy to not play the starters at all in the preseason works out. I personally like the call but it’s going against what most of the league is doing. I expect they come out sharp at KC and it becomes another case of Brad and Dan pressing the right button.
