  1. So, dumpster diving? Who is on the farm that we’re waiting for? Jung, Keith, maybe Meadows? Are you suggesting this likelihood because we have few tradable assets (which I don’t disagree with)? That’s why I like bailing teams like the Padres and Yankees out of some shitty contracts with some of their better prospects. Yankees SS situation, as someone previously brought up, is a prime example.
  2. Constants for next years lineup (barring any my trades): C-Haase, Rogers 1B-Tork 2B-Schoop SS-Baez CF-Greene DH-Cabrera Meadows is under contract, but given his mental health challenges, can’t be counted on. Baez could move to 2B, with Schoop moving to 3B or UT role, depending on other moves. Would be shocked to see Candy or Barnhart brought back. Reyes and the Castro boys are less likely. Doubt we’d count on Kreidler, Clemens, Baddoo or Carpenter to be significant contributors. I believe Harris will focus on SS, LF and 3B, in that order.
  3. Volpe or Peraza and Donaldson for Candy and Kreidler? Hear Josh is a douche, but I could tolerate him to upgrade at SS.
  4. how do you explain the performance of the veterans? Schoop, Candelario, Barnhart, Baez? That's a lot of veterans who played beneath recent seasons. Consensus top prospects in Tork and Greene? Not sure we can blame Hinch for this, but it's not as though the team was littered with AAAA players.
  5. I don't follow the Giants or the NL that closely, so don't know many of the names that were acquired, either via trade or waivers, but the list appears to be underwhelming. I remember the Cozart trade--it was suggested here by a few that that was the type of trade that the Tigers should make--take on a bad contract to get a good prospect in return. No idea how that panned out with Will Wilson, though (too lazy to look).
  6. according to their Twitter account, this is the first time in their history that they have made it this far? I like their chances in a short series, with Flores and Olsen getting starts. Unfortunately, Madden looks like he might have hit a wall in his first full season of play.
  7. This contract did not set back anything for the Tigers. A lot of hyperbole here.
  8. Gum Time, part deux? I’d be OK with that.
  9. Bonehead call by Santiago. No reason to send Candy, when it would have been 2nd and 3rd with no outs.
  10. Have yourself a night, Mr. Small Sample Size!
  11. Now we just need to get Baddoo and Greene to stop terrifying poor Nathan during every other commercial break.
  12. Yes. And 90% of Tigers viewers thought, “what did that nerd just say?”
  13. Do we like Wentz? Please tell me how I should think.
  14. Shep just said, “hold my beer!”
  15. Jack Morris bungling his interview with Scott Harris. <yawn>
  16. The answer to each of those is Jamie Moyer, I believe.
  17. Miggy is 2-2 tonight. Coincidence?
  18. They are up 12-0 in the 7th on my broadcast.
  19. There is no Tiger with a .700 OPS in tonight’s lineup. 5 of them have an OPS of .603 or lower. That is all
  20. I hate it. (somebody has to be the contrarian)
  21. If he’s facing Pittsburgh’s pitching, he already has a shot.
  22. I think most of your assumptions make sense, though I don’t think Cruz warrants being considered as a starter. I wonder if they’d push Graham that high? I would think he’d be at West Michigan, at least.
  23. Seems kind of a mixed thing that he has moved faster than the more heralded Jung and Graham.
