  1. You’d think taking 2 of 3 from the Gritty Tigers would have bought at least another month.
  2. Dodged a bullet with the Cobb signing—at least he hasn’t pitched ****ty
  3. This game not going our way, in spite of Skubal. The starting pitcher putting up a lot of pitches means we’ll get into their pen sooner (potentially). Don’t love that when we haven’t scored yet.
  4. I think Melton sees time this season, similar to what they did with Jobe (but sooner).
  5. I agree with this, but don’t agree that Briceno is overrated (though that is a very subjective term). I think he’s flying a bit under the radar nationally, especially based on what he did in the AFL and offensively in High A. It seems like he’ll hit, but finding a position might be tricky. That uncertainty makes him a viable trade option if another team values the bat.
  6. Well, they do have a 9 game losing streak, so they are lost. Let’s make it 10. Skubal in line for one more start before the break—Saturday v Seattle. That would knock him out for pitching on Tuesday in the All Star game. And I’m very good with that—we have bigger goals.
  7. But they’re not Gritty
  8. Remind me again when Jose Ramirez is planning to retire?
  9. There goes his All Star game start and Cy Young.
  10. Nashville Cats and the Salt Lake Sister Wives?
  11. Need some more runs. Hate the Cleveland pen—would like to take it out of the game.
  12. Pretty much a must win. Amirite?
  13. Winning and drafting lower takes the intensity and pressure off for the draft. I trust the front office to make an informed selection. It is exciting that we also have the 35th sick
  14. Guess what happened again tonight? The Tigers and each of the top four minor league teams won. This makes the 21st time that the org has achieved the Quintuple Lindy this season.
  15. That doesn’t make sense. Finally contributing and affordable and provides much needed 30 HR power from the RH side? And no replacement in sight? I think he’s OK
  16. Not saying to give him away, but of all of our elite prospects, he’s the most expendable. Tork has improved both his offensive and defensive skills, so he’s entrenched at 1B likely fir the next few years, at least. I’d prefer to keep Liranzo—he’ll stay at catcher.
  17. And for our trade capital, I think Max Anderson and Josue Briceno are the most attractive prospects we could move without feeling the loss. Add in Hamm or another pitcher (I’d like to hold on to Melton cause I suspect we’ll need him this season) and you could command a good player
  18. I wonder how many teams will ultimately decide to sell? The Tigers showed last season that anything is possible, even with the most remote odds. I really don’t see the AL Central pulling the plug, save for the White Sox. Would be ironic if the Tigers, buyers for the first time in 10 years, are disadvantaged by their performance in ‘24. The fewer the sellers, the more the buyers (potentially), which will drive up prices for the fewer players available.
  19. Remind me how Enns was available as a minor league free agent?
  20. I don’t want to block Lee, but I’d rather get a proven veteran. Playoff experience a plus.
  21. I wasn’t thinking of a Ibanez-type, but a legit 4th OF/DH type that could play full-time, if necessary. Marcell Ozuna?
