  1. The Mets $$$ might break the trend with Ohtani but my bet is with Dodgers or Mariners with heavy lean LA since it will be excess of 550 million.
  2. No they didn’t. The Asian players prefer the west coast for travel and the time zone allows friends and family to watch live in the mornings Korean and Japanese time. I think flight times from Seattle to Tokyo are only about 8 hours which is why there is a large Japanese population in Seattle Good for the Mariners in their pursuit of Ohtani I think he spends part of his off season there as well
  3. I was pinning for Al to sign Kim out of Korea when he was posted. He started slow in the states but is in gear now and killed it in Korea. I think he will be a free agent after his contract expires.
  4. Thanks but it’s just my impression so I could be wrong. We can watch and see if it plays out.
  5. Agree with you. Hitting slumps. Defense is daily.
  6. Also all of Badoos great catches are to his glove side I believe. He doesn’t like shopping at the Gap.
  7. Badoo has improved in the field but still takes bad routes. Sometimes his speed over comes that and other times it doesn’t. He is Inconsistent and his throwing is terrible and teams run at will. I say play it out this year and if he hits trade him this off season. Riley Greene should be our left fielder. His arm plays there, it’s a large area he can handle and it’s easy on hit legs. He runs so upright he pounds his shins. Get Verling in right field where his arm plays and his half tick slow reads don’t hurt as much as center. And bring Meadows up for center. Now. We have lost two games Marisnick would have won with catches. And keep Carpenter at DH. Defense. Please.
  8. The worst part of the JD trade was Al forcing the manager to play Lugo so much because he was desperate for a miracle.
  9. Not only a win that Lorenzen did well but it plays perfectly in Harris desire to build a reputation of players coming to Detroit and getting better.
  10. San Diego coming to bury their season getting swept by the Tigers.
  11. You beat me to it and expressed it much better !
  12. Baez has value and starting tomorrow represents the potential to bounce back. I still like his skill set and have more confidence with him at bat than anyone else but Greene Verling Tork and Carpenter. If he did opt out we slip backwards as a team. As others have said we just need to add two solid bats and others will improve. Baez always excelled as a side kick not a main character. That’s what we need. As for Erod I would offer to add one more year and 30 mil to his contract. Four years 70 mil. If he declines then trade him. Lorenzen I am trading 100 %. Not enough history of success as a Starting pitcher and coming off an All Star nod so his stock is at the peak. We need another Verling/ Maton type return to build depth but Harris must bring back hitters who can defend. Then add a solid player or two in free agency or trade and another couple pitchers. . And yes we can trade minor leaguers not named Keith to make it happen.
  13. I just hope DEFENSE is at the top of Harris mind when making decisions. Badoo is a so so fielder who can not throw and a liability in the outfield despite some good plays due to his speed but not reliable. Adding Mallory to the mix just complicates things. It's why Minnesota (Badoo) and Atlanta (Mallory) passed on them. Carpenter is bad and Hasse is catcher only. So it's Greene - Meadows - Verling left to right for me and as G2 has said we should get started with that ASAP. Maybe use Badoo and Mallory for trades since they both are DH's but should have trade value to the right teams.
  14. Need those two badly.
  15. We just have to hope that Baez plays better and hits at least league average perhaps finding his lost power because he isn’t going anywhere but Comerica Park for the next four years. I still think he will improve he just cannot be this bad and he hustles and plays hard all the time apart from a rare let down so I believe he will get better.
  16. I understand dropping Marisnick for tomorrow but for this team this year we win tonight with outfielders playing the outfield and there will be others with Carpenter And Haase in the outfield. I would have liked to see an outfield of Greene Marisnick and Verling left to right. It would be a bit easier on Greenes leg also. But alas the mad chessman is free to pursue fielding flexibility in search of righty lefty match ups.
  17. If hitting is more instinctual than intellectual then over coaching could be an issue.
  18. No just thought he had the same contract status as Shreveport for some reason. Glad he doesn’t.
  19. Yes he’s the glue and one of our top players.
  20. True but I missed the rookie part. Thought he was gone at seasons end so that is a big difference.
  21. Erod, Cisneros, Lorenzen and Holten are good as gone in my estimation. I think the return will be minimal. Maybe one decent player for next year and a "platoon" major leaguer(s) and/or low minors guys. . Lange has damaged his value and Foley will require more than other teams are willing to pay since many free agent relievers like Cisnero will be cheap to acquire. Trading Baez seems like an off season move and exchange for another poor contract.
  22. Should he have charged that ball to get it on the big hop rather than laying back ?
  23. Yes they either extend or get traded. My guess is both traded and if the return is good it won’t matter if we are close to first place.
