they saw duren as a pick and roll dive man who would work perfectly with cade. and in that sense he does work very well with cade. the problem with duren is defense, hustle, and his inability to develop a shot yet. if he never does, then he's a more coordinated andre drummond. that's not nothing, but that's not someone you pay. ivey was drafted as an athlete and scorer. and he is both of those things. ivey has been mishandled, imo. he could play well with cade but isnt the "perfect" cade player because he isnt a dead eye shooter. but he hs regressed badly under monty. part of that is on ivey seeing as how he seems to constantly sulk and doesnt hustle on defense, but i still blame monty for effing with ivey so much early on. if you have duren you cant have ausar and ivey on the floor too. no spacing. if you keep duren you have to have a stretch 5. i know everyone loves ausar, but he 1000% does not fit on a team with duren and ivey. none of them can shoot or bring the ball up the floor. its just 100% cade. terrible roster construction.

for a brief moment last year you could see it. he was being physical and getting to the corners and the front of the net, hitting people. then this year there's been nothing. its puzzling.

ras has been a huge disappointment this year. not physical enough.

you'll get tobias harris on a max deal and like it! and then a trade of jaden ivey for draymond green and some second round picks, re-signing james wiseman and quentin grimes, and then trading those second rounders to get back into the first round to nab zack edey, and bringing back rodney magruder.

the white sox are currently focused on extorting a few billion from the city/state to build them a new ballpark. they dont expect much from the on-field product right now. they got a haul for adam eaton, chris sale, and jose quintana: giolito, moncada, cease, kopech, and jimenez all came over in those deals. add that to tim anderson and luis robert and they thought they were set. but covid ruined their best season and they decided to hire tony larussa instead of aj hinch and they ended up with no playoff victories to show for it. now anderson is a shell of himself, cease was traded, giolito regressed mightily, kopech cant start, and moncada, robert, and jimenez cant play full seasons. moreover, the clubhouse is toxic and split because of guys who try hard during the game, and guys who try hard at the clubs after the game despite being on the iniured list. they wrecked their window. man, you just hate to see it. 🙂
