  1. debrincat misses a wide open net, the wings flub their way through a 5 on 3 and get nothing, gufstaffson looks terrible and gives the rangers a scoring chance when the WINGS are on a 5 on 3, and then talbot gives up a soft goal and theyre down 1-0.
  2. he's already in playoff form...
  3. I really want to go to grand rapids. said no one. ever.
  4. truth. the raiders are bad for a reason. and that reason owns the team.
  5. if the raiders thought hendon hooker was a franchise qb they would have drafted him. i like HH, and i'd give him time to develop some more, but he hasnt shown anyone anything that would indicate he is a franchise qb.
  6. betrayer the optimist, always giving the new regime a chance. 🙂
  7. shesterkin has been the difference so far. wings are playing well, just cant get it by igor.
  8. rangers getting a lot of home cooking in this one.
  9. i guess so, but they've been playing really beat up offensive lines so far. better than last year, and you hope arnold/rakestraw get better as the season goes on.
  10. comparable trades to crosby-ish defensive ends: bears trade a high second for montez sweat bears trade two firsts, a third and a sixth for for khalil mack, a second, and a fifth raiders trade a future first for richard seymour vikings trade a first, two thirds, and a swap of 6th round picks for jared allen **** mack and allen trades seem the most similar. i would argue the bears overpaid for mack (and sweat), but unfortunately they mucked up the market for everyone else. crosby is in his prime but he's also REALLY expensive. a first and a fourth, plus a future third (or two) with the raiders throwing in a future fifth or something should be enough. if the lions want to go that route.
  11. hollinger had his bottom of the east preview today. bad news: pistons at 28 wins. even worse news: there were four teams in the east that were worse. were going to end up picking 8th.
  12. on the one hand, this loss kills their defense and makes them from mediocre to suspect. otoh, they had a very suspect defense last year and were a couple josh reynolds drops away from the super bowl.
  13. on a positive note, i was happy to see them rub it in the cowboys' face. running trick plays late in the game, running up the score, lining up skipper as eligible all game long, even at wide receiver! **** the refs, **** the league office, and **** the cowboys. it was a level of grudge holding i can appreciate.
  14. hutch set the edge on defense too. helped a lot against the run. everyone knows this, but its a massive loss. he's not replaceable by many players in the LEAGUE, much less many players on the current roster.
  15. yup. the defense was playing pretty well, but without their best player - and one of the best in the league at one of the most important positions - i expect them to fall off. right before the viqueens game too.
  16. hassan reddick? he just doesnt seem like the lions' type of guy, but i could be wrong. would the bengals really trade hendrickson? probably not but you never know with them. someone mentioned the jaguars earlier, that might be a good place to start.
  17. he's got a $30 million cap hit this year. doesnt that hit the raiders' books if he's traded? the raiders want to deal underperforming veterans like davante adams not pro bowl de's in their prime. seems like we go through this with crosby every year now.
  18. we're not giving up multiple firsts for any quick fix.
  19. i've never felt worse after a blow out win over the cowgirls. 😞
  20. call up kasper and mazur and roll with two goalies.
  21. cant wait to see which 30 year old declining third line center we sign next offseason lest danielson think he's done enough to make the team out of camp.
  22. veleno is a very replaceable 4th lone center. that's fine. he's an nhl player for sure, but he's nothing more than a younger luke glendinning. on his best day. kind of a come down from his juniors career and his draft slot. i'd rather the wings had let him test the market and called up kasper instead. but that would mean kasper would have gone into training camp already having made the team and FAR BE IT for the red wings to let a prospect make the team rather than let him waste another year in the AHL.
