  1. he can go to texas and underachieve like every other 5* recruit before him. have fun losing 4 or 5 games a year every year in the sec.
  2. its a big miss because they put all of their eggs in this particular basket and didnt recruit any other 5* qb. and they missed. now they have nothing behind jj but 3* developmental guys and transfers.
  3. i dont think you need 5* olinemen. those guys take a long time to develop and its just as much about coaching and talent identification than high school attributes. michigan gets its fair share of 4* olinemen and that's enough. the 5* guys tend to be offensive tackles. you can develop those guys. but speed is speed and a qb is a qb. michigan needs SOME 5* guys to compete with georgia/bama/ohio state's of the world, imo. this class is bad. however, michigan may be demonstrating the new world of college football by using the portal to cover up for the deficiencies of that class. they got 3 offensive linemen, a starting linebacker, a starting defensive end, and needed tight end depth. the future of college football recruiting might not be signing a ton of 5* high school kids and then watching half of them leave within 2 years, but rather raiding other schools for those kids. maybe. with that said, michigan needs a class next year that replaces their base of talent. next year's michigan team is looking very strong yet again, but it will be the last year for jj (most likely) and edwards (most definitely). i would like them to have a couple guys in the hopper to replace them. all THAT said, signing day is here and not everyone will commit. harbor is still out there and you never know if they can flip someone on signing day. that would go a long way to making this class acceptable by michigan standards. without them? its well below par.
  4. it is. relegation is not the issue in european soccer. the issue is no salary constraints, limited revenue sharing, combined with a system that rewards teams by sending them to the champions league and the oodles of extra money that goes with that. its why the owners of some of the bigger clubs (a lot of them americans) tried to create a breakaway "super league" that would not have any relegation or promotion, would have a salary "cap" type system, and would guarantee them revenue. that attempt failed. shortly after, the american owners of two of those clubs (liverpool and united) both put their teams up for sale. basically admitting they may have maxxed out the profits they can take from their teams in a world where rulers of oil rich countries can outspend everyone and make it impossible to compete (man city, psg, newcastle).
  5. he wasnt interested in michigan. i dont think they even bothered this time after spending all of their time recruiting him last year. big miss.
  6. bears are looking at carter or anderson.
  7. bulls gave up 150 to the twolves w/o gobert or kat. now all the "lavine isnt happy" shams tweets are coming out. they just gave donovan a contract extension AND just gave lavine a max deal. and now the fans want to blow it all up. lolbulls. so nice to see them suck after derozan bailed them out all last year with that horsehoe stuck up his butt.
  8. otoh, the lions run defense has been outstanding lately.
  9. so is zach wilson and he just passed for 300 yards and left a ton of plays on the field. i'm a bit worried about the lions secondary again. they looked awful against the jets. can we re-hire aubrey pleasant again so dan campbell can fire him?
  10. i think belichick is the greatest coach in nfl history. theyve found and developed a lot of players who, when they leave, turn out to be terrible. he won 16 games in one of the greatest seasons of all time, he's done it multiple years in a salary cap environment that is tough to keep teams together. guys like chuck noll did it with one group of amazing players over a 5-6 year period then flamed out as a coach. landry did it over multiple teams, shula too. neither won like belichick. the guy who may be underrated as an all time coach is andy reid. and dan campbell, of course...
  11. it was $5 billion but sarver made him take britney and the mercury.
  12. for what? anyone could have had him for free. nobody will give you anything for czarnik. the bigger questions are whether anyone will give them anything now for bertuzzi.... .....or larkin?
  13. which guarantees it will be top 3. ask derrick rose.
  14. so much internet ink spilled on a nothingburger like jeimar candelario. must be a slow offseason.
  15. on the one hand, watching the bulls' mismatched roster full of guys who can score one on one but dont play a lick of defense implode has been so much fun. on the other hand, i dread the draft lottery where the league gives them wembanyama or henderson.
  16. i dont hate rodgers. he beats the bears and rubs their noses in it. the enemy of my enemy is my friend.
  17. i think this has already been a successful season, even if they dont make the playoffs. heck, even if they lose their last three.
  18. i dont think nfl teams tank, i think theyre just bad. houston has taken dallas and kc to the wire two weeks in a row. they just cant finish. same with the injured rams and denver. the broncos just smoked the cards. the cards arent tanking, they just suck.
  19. i know you do. but youre not an obnoxious ass.
  20. everyone is excited. you can be excited while also being nervous because youve seen the lions fail before in similar situations. its ok to want them to win - even to think they should win - while also being scared they wont win.
  21. yes, but you can admit you were wrong and not be an obnoxious ass about it.
  22. remember how you said he was washed up and the lions were right trade him? and then fought about it for a couple years? how's teez tabor doing?
