  1. houston is a shit show. as long as that gm and owner are there, its going to be a rough ride.
  2. did you really need convincing to coach denver over houston? that's a pretty good gig for your first head coaching job.
  3. at least we'll get a draft pick if he gets the job.
  4. ryans to the texans. poor aaron glenn is never getting a job.
  5. make him earn it. if he does and you cant re-sign him, you can always franchise him. he also might be a better safety than corner. that could be in the works too. melifonwu isnt working out so far at corner or safety, so it looks like they'll need to replace him too.
  6. hopefully. cause he looked bad.
  7. did i say i "didnt like cherry picking"?
  8. yes, as i wrote, people cherry pick games and stats to support the point theyre trying to make. i do it. so do you
  9. people cherry pick games and stats for their own convenience depending upon what point theyre trying to make. the lions played a really tough schedule to start the year and went 1-6. they played a much easier schedule in the second half and went 8-2. they also had a fair degree of good fortune this year and goff was healthy all year long. theyre on the right track for sure, but theyre not as good as the eagles or niners this year. i dont think they were as good as the cowboys either. the lions are not an elite team. they were; however, as good as the rest of the bad nfc last year. probably the best of the rest. and that is really saying something considering the depths from whence they came.
  10. lol. nyah, i'm just teasing you. 🙂
  11. i think youre right about the eagles/niners. both of them likely run over the lions like the panthers did. i think the lions will try to make a move for a corner this year in free agency (and the draft). that's the one area where they are really talent deficient. okudah got benched at the end of the year and, quite honestly, played his best football as a safety in the box (against dallas) rather than as a corner. yeah yeah vikings game against jefferson, but that was mostly double coverage. okudah was beaten a lot this year, iirc. and was subsequently benched. if i had to guess, i bet they dont pick up his 5th year option. they'll need a few corners in the next few years and they cant all come through the draft.
  12. i still think trey lance will work out if he gets healthy. his running opens up a whole new set of plays for shanahan.
  13. hard pass for that money.
  14. lol. detroit, the last refuge for scoundrels.
  15. triple will never last to round 5. that mock is bullshit.
  16. if vatai takes a paycut, i think the lions will keep him. sewell loves the guy. i think that matters to this mgmt group.
  17. good deal for the isles. hopefully they dont sign horvat.
  18. we could even trade our #1 pick for pat swilling! 🙂 the draft should be about taking the best player available with an eye to the future. holmes is thinking about next year and three years down the road and five years down the road. this offseason will be real interesting on whether holmes is ok with paying big money to bring in an outside free agent or continues to build in house. and if he does go outside, what type of fit are they? is jalen ramsay a guy they bring in here? is he a culture fit? holmes should know him, at the very least.
  19. give me the eagles and the under. kc cant protect a hobbled mahomes.
  20. yeah, the "hitler had some good ideas but went too far" thing was a little much. the years of alcohol abuse rotted his brain. even the backwardass blackhawks had to let him go after a while, and they never get rid of old players/stars.
  21. a super bowl trip and back to back afc championship games has answered it already, right?
  22. chariot was signed to provide toughness and he's done that. this team got physically pushed around last year and there has been less of that this year. he still has big issues as a defenseman, but he's served some good. i watched edvinsson tonight. he's very big and very smooth. cant teach that. not sure if that will translate at the nhl level because he still makes a lot of mistakes. young, time will tell.
  23. i didnt see it, was it actually a good penalty call?
