I think there is an outside shot that this breaks through with independent voters, as well as with voters MB mentioned with the people who sat out 2024 or went Biden to Trump. Most voters don't follow the news daily like we all do. So there are a lot of voters that just won't know what's happening to the White House. For those that do see the people's house being destroyed, it will be a bad look for any non-hardcore MAGA.

Juan Gonzalez was a great player too . . . Until he came to a place he had less than zero interest in being. Then he was always hurt and missing games all of a sudden.

Over and over and over again you hear from farmers and those whose economic livelihood relies on farming and agriculture, about just how bad things are getting for them. I have no clue who this guy voted for. Hopefully not Trump. But you're seeing the negative economic consequences of Trump's tariffs and on farmers and rural Americans all over the country.

I don't care who is in the Epstein Files. They need to be released to the public, with victims protected. There needs to be justice brought to whoever abused and trafficked these women. Donald Trump Bill Clinton, Bernie Sanders, Republicans, Democrats, there needs to be justice for these women.

I remember being pissed when I heard about it as well. I listened to WDFN as a kid and likely either heard about it there or watching SportsCenter. Don't remember which one. I remember Felipe Lira being our next best starter after David Wells. Didn't Mike Moore go something like 5-20 with like an 7.00+ ERA and an almost 2+ WHIP?

Speaking of bad Tigers trades, was Randy Smith also the one who traded David Wells to the Reds for CJ Nitkowski and reliever Mark Lewis? I friggan hated that trade when I was a kid as Wells was one of our only good starters at the time.

They are all private citizens, entitled to their private lives and political beliefs and opinions. That said, I have wondered when listening where they fall on the political spectrum. If I had to guess, my guesses would be these. Dems/liberal/progressive: Costa, Heather, Karsch, Rico, Hatchet, Wojo, Riger Apolitical/they all suck: Gator, Valenti Republican/Conservative/MAGA: Jansen, TJ Lang, Kenny Cott, Caputo

I 100% agree with you on Fetterman. The warning signs were there and either Connor Lamb or Malcom Kenyatta should have been the nominee. Fetterman pulled a bait and switch and got even worse after the stroke I feel. Progressives and anyone who supported him under the guise that he was this fresh, new, cool looking candidate with tats and no suit on did wrong on that one.

I know Costa's wife in real life and they are both on the left side of the fence if you get what I mean. Karsch is also a big Dem. Edit: I heard what they said on the morning show on 97.1 healthcare just now and it was during Heather's news updates. It doesn't sound like it was one of their regular topics of discussion. But I am a bit surprised she mentioned it given that 97.1 usually stays away from political discussions.

Bill Clinton shouldn't be used on the campaign trail if we're going to sit here and pretend to be the party of MeToo and believe a women when she said she was assaulted.
-
I mean, Bill Clinton allegedly raped a women and allegedly sexually assaulted another, and we keep trotting him out there election after election.

I'm sure the league will invest another new rule that we've never heard of, cost the Lions the game, and give the bye the win. Seriously though, I feel really good about where this team is at the bye week. They are 5-2 and have shown they can beat good teams and win the games they are supposed to. Some of the things we were worried about as fans, like their offensive line cohesion after losing Ragnow, ability to run block as effectively, their pass rush, and how losing both coordinators would effect this team haven't appeared to have had a significant negative impact on this team. They are hitting their stride on offense under Morton and he's got Gibbs in particular really looking strong. On defense, Sheppard has the pass rush looking strong after a lackluster opener against Green Bay. Had we played a bit better in KC, not made so many coverage mistakes on defense, and not gotten jobbed out of a TD by the league, we could be 6-1. We're 5-2 though and I'm fine with that because I like how this team has been playing.

I really like the philosophizing of Alan Watts on religion. He has the ability to be as articulate and knowledgeable on the subjects of atheism, the idea of a deity, and collective religion without the condensation that you sometimes get from atheists like Christopher Hitchens or Matt Dillahunty. Now, I haven't watched or listen to every speech or lecture that Watts has ever gave, so may be is a condescending prick somewhere, at some time. But I really enjoy the academic way he walks you through the reasons there is no ordained God, no ordained religion, no deity that is the divine authority.

I complained about Glenn back in 2022. I didn't necessarily want him fired back then, but I did feel that Aubrey Pleasant got scapegoated for a lot of Glenn's defensive breakdowns and coaching mishaps. Glenn's risking being a one and done in New York if he doesn't get a win here soon. His team looks like they are immature and undisciplined. He looks the same way as a Head Coach. As bad as the early Lions teams were under Campbell, I don't think you could say those things about Campbell or his team. It was simply an issue of talent on the field.
