Oh I can't wait to listen to Valenti tomorrow if it's Sanders.

Is the Edge from Boston College still available? Ezaracku? I think he's on the board.

Damn, no wonder Jacksonville is a poverty franchise.

Now we see the violence inherent in the system. Come and see the violence inherent in the system. Help! Help! I'm being repressed! -
I suspect they will draft the best player available tonight, who fits their culture and has a first round grade on their board. If Holmes doesn't have 28 players with first round grades on his draft board then I think he is trading up for a player that is a BPA and his front office has given a first round grade. They are likely also not touching any player with character concerns, IE James Pearce Jr. or Mike Green. I like Mike Green quite a bit and feel he is the type of high motor, hard nose, physical, explosive, athletic pass rusher, who also plays against the run, that they might normally like. But I think Green's character concerns keep him off their board entirely. I think it is wide open as far as the position they end up picking because they will heavily lean BPA with a first round grade over any sort of perceived team need. That could mean they go G/C with a guy like Gray Zabel or Tyler Booker. It could mean a DT or DE like Kenneth Grant, Derrick Harmon, Shemar Stewart, or Donovan Ezeiruaku. It could mean taking yet another first round LB like Jihaad Campbell or a CB like Will Johnson. It could even mean a complete surprise pick like Colston Loveland or Tyler Warren at TE or Matthew Golden or Emeka Egbuka at WR. I would not be shocked if they picked a player at a position outside the norm that we all expect them to draft (OG/C, DLine). As far as who I want, I'd like them to draft in the trenches, either on offense or defense. I think there will be potentially a top talent available at either the offensive or defensive lines when they pick at #28. If they don't have a first round draft grade on the guy they probably aren't taking him. I would be ok with anyone Holmes drafts in the end because I trust him. However, I would prefer one of Derrick Harmon, Mike Green (I'm sure his character concerns will make him a no), Donovan Ezeiruaku, Mykel Williams, Gray Zabel or Tyler Booker.

So Karoline Levitt's husband is gay just like Michelle Bachmann's husband?

Before I get roasted, let me preface this by saying I'm perfectly fine if Brad Holmes stays the course and doesn't make a big time move for a guy like Trey Hendrickson. Brad has earned the right to keep on doing what he's been doing because he's been successful at it. So if Hendrickson never comes here that's perfectly fine. I also don't suspect he will be a Lion, so my hopes aren't really up at all. That said, I think the Lions can afford Hendrickson and still be able to resign Hutch though. Assuming the cap continues to go up over the next 2-3 years along with Goff's contract being restructured and likely letting one or two of their own marquee players go/get cut. Jeremy Fowler at ESPN reported Hendrickson wants around $30 million/year. The NFL cap went up an estimated $23.8 million in 2025 from last year. The cap going up whatever percentage creates an initial bucket of cap space. We don't know how much it will go up in 2026 or 2027, so that makes estimating the increase tricky. Assuming it goes up again by a similar percentage though, as it has the past few seasons, that gives you more flexibility. Restructuring Goff's contract gives you the next bucket of cap space and could net a decent amount of space. Cutting Taylor Decker in 2027 gives you around $17.8 million in cap space while only creating about $6.2 million in dead cap. Lastly, if you're trading for Hendrickson you are probably still letting Jamo walk and one of Branch or LaPorta in this scenario. Is Trey Hendrickson really that much of a difference maker? I'd say with 40+ tackles and 17.5 sacks each of the last two seasons suggests he can be. If we win a Super Bowl out of him being that productive of a player, will fans care if that means we lose Branch, Decker, Jamo, and/or LaPorta in the end? I'd suspect "geez but our cap and roster flexibility and the fact that Brian Branch and Taylor Decker are gone next season" would be on the minds of almost no fans if they were to watch Campbell hoist the Lombardi in the post game show. I don't think Holmes is mortgaging his future and giving up his own guys or his high end picks for Hendrickson. So this is all a moot point really. I just wanted to put out there what I think scenario might look like trading for Hendrickson.

I know KAT isn't known for stepping up in big playoff situations, but we can't expect him to choke like that all series long. That said, it was awesome to watch our star player dominate the game after a rocky start in Game 1 and one of their star players fall flat on his face and go scoreless in the second half.
-
I have to say, short of getting a Trey Hendrickson or similar caliber, top-tier player, I don't understand trading Jaymo now. We're in a Super Bowl window to win the Lombardi now and trading one of our top offensive weapons, and one of our only deep threats, doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I think Jaymo adds too much value to this offense to be shipped off for future assets or a 2nd/3rd round pick that may not be an immediate contributor. Unless we get a high end current NFL player as part of a Jaymo trade, I'll be disappointed if he's traded this offseason.

What type of value does Williams offer up? A 2nd round pick? 3rd round pick?

I was under the impression we would have to shed a bad contract to get Forsberg and stay under the cap. It appears we could afford him without having to shed one of our bigger, awful contracts. So I was mistaken in thinking we'd have to shed a Chairot, Compher, Copp contract to afford Forsberg. I guess not. Nashville though would want a bad contract for the same reason San Jose wanted Wallman. You attach extra picks or a prospect in order for them to agree take on a bad contract. But given that we apparently don't need to clear cap space to afford Forsberg, that point is moot. I think a Forsberg deal I'd be comfortable with would look something like Forsberg for Danielson, Buium, a 1st and a 2nd. If it took a second 1st to get it done I might be ok with that. Is it a given that if we acquired Forsberg he would be behind Raymond on the depth chart? The guy did have 94 points a season ago.

I wouldn't put it past Holmes to draft Campbell and then let Rodriguez and/or Anzalone walk in the future. I would be mildly surprised if Campbell was drafted, but not shocked given that we love going BPA.
-
If Nashville is in a full scale rebuild why not go after the big fish and try to trade for Filip Forsberg instead of 35 year old O'Reilly. If Nashville is going to tare it down and rebuild then I would presume they want top prospects and picks for a top guy like Forsberg. Both of which we can offer them. According to Spotrac it looks like the Preds will be $21 million under the cap next season, so they have room to take on a bad contract or two as well. We have bad contracts to give them along with picks and prospects.

Trump or Musk? I'd say both.

I don't know what type of player Danielson will end up being in the long run. I don't know what type of player Zach Benson will end up being in the long run. I do know that I wanted Benson at the time in the draft. Through two seasons of play Benson has logged 144 NHL games played with 21 goals and 58 points total in those games. It's nothing that lights the world on fire by any means but he is up contributing on the big league roster. We'll see if Danielson works out out to be the better choice or not.

The symbolism of JD Vance breaking Ohio State's CFB National Championship trophy is amazing.

This. Most everything with Trump is either to feed his own ego or transactional where he gets something out of it in the end. Either his ego was being fed by this Whitmer visit, which meant she almost certainly had to grovel to do so or she outright made a deal of some kind with him so that he would be perceived to benefit in some way.

New country music from a new artist named William Beckmann. This is a simple, straight forward, twangy 90s-style country song. The stuff corporate radio radio won't touch anymore because it sounds too real and too authentic.

Hopefully someone serves Trump his three eyed fish on a platter.
