George Kirby replaces TBD as the SP for SEA
-
Did you see the way those “warriors”backed the **** up when one of them moved? That must be the ethos the drunk guy was talking about.
-
It’s almost like baseball is hard and every time wants to win.
-
I didn't know Cal was going to go Ohtani on us at the last minute...
-
Have you been to Little Caesar's Arena? It's almost like that.

Where: T-Mobile Park, Seattle, WA Watch National - FOX Listen: Mariners - Seattle Sports (710 AM), Tigers - 97.1 The Ticket, LaZ WDTW 1310AM/107.9FM National - ESPN Radio DET: Tarik Skubal SEA: George Kirby. Legacies to be defined?

yeah... a pitcher doesn't like it. I remember years ago when the ump called the runner safe because the 2B didn't have his foot on the bag while turning 2. It was on ESPN. They showed the replay to confirm the safe call and Jon Miller is explaining "Well it's foot's not on the bag, how can you call him out?" and Joe Morgan's disputing it. "As a second baseman, I don't like it...." and this wasn't a transition thing where the foot goes over the top of the bag while catching and getting out of the way. He was stationary and just standing there....

I don't think the Lions being the NFL game will influence their decision. They knew they were going against the NFL regardless when they booked the ALCS. But what do I know?

But are fans in Cincy Reds fans or Red fans?

Why is it Tiger Stadium when the Detroit Tigers played there? Should it have been Tigers Stadium? Why do we singularize the plural? Same with Yankee Stadium for the New York Yankees. Would the Colorado Rockies play in "Rockie Stadium"?

Also… Lou threw out the first pitch. Always nice to see him here. I only took a picture of his name on the scoreboard. That was it for me during the game. however in the plaza outside LCA they have banners up for retired numbers…. Along with a “placeholder”.

Top of the fifth I turn to my friends behind me and say “man… 3-0 feels like 10-0”. Once they started hitting the place went nuts. From the fifth inning on every Tiger half inning the crowd stood and cheered them on. Hearing the crowd chant “Javy! Javy!” Before his HR was incredible. He and Riley’s HR’s will be legendary. This seriously might have been the best game in Comerica Park since 2013. Their performance redeemed a lot from September. The fans deserved this. I don’t fault the fans for booing when they did. But they turned it around quick.

This 3 o’clock start time is a damper. If Seattle takes a multi run run in the 7th or 8th, peoole will flee. I’d actually be surprised if the stadium is 75% full by game time. After yesterday…. Of course I am leaving in a few minutes and stay until the end. But if it looks like they will be eliminated the fans will head home early.

Man what a long day yesterday. Every single forecast said the rain would end around 4. We got down into the stadium around 2 so that we would be at least covered when it did rain. As it turned out the heavy rain didn’t really happen down there until after 4. Standing around for 5 hours is hard. I say that as someone who ran 10 miles on Sunday. When we finally went to our seats it was a relief to walk up stairs. the crowd was ready and pumped. More than I expected. I felt good about the game until Naylor worked Flaherty in the second inning. Then that was it. People began filing out in the 8th. I really wanted a Toronto win yesterday. Going back down there this afternoon is going to be a struggle. I’d be surprised if the crowd is into it now. People are tired.

Th atmosphere down here is weird. Subdued. The weather really sucks.

They were taking to Lance Parrish on Fox 2 this morning. They asked him where he would be watching the game. He said on his couch. That seemed odd to me. Wonder if he had a falling out with the org.
-
I liked the Phillies because of Mike Schmidt. Of course I rarely saw him play on TV. Then I hated them because that’s where Parrish went after he left the Tigers. Looking back of course he had to do it.
-
So it’s not just me. I thought I was a sick ****.

The Phillies have increased their win total each year but have regressed in the postseason at the same time.

Ok now I follow. You are offering the option of playing the games and seeing what happens. Or we just skip the formalities and play Friday in a winner take all because you don’t trust this team to win even one game at home. I say that last part because if you did trust them then you get the other option anyway.
-
Yeah another deciding game on the road is not ideal. But why would a Tiger fan take that? Or is the alternative lose 2?

Seriously the worst thing about LCA is making the staff wear those hideous orange shirts. It looks like Chuck E. Cheese. At the Palace the ushers worse elegant blazers that looked regal. At baseball games I didn’t mind because it went with team colors. Really clashes at pistons games as people tend to dress nicer at those. Hockey fans are already wearing loud sweaters and jerseys.
-
Well the org was ok with the worst chain store pizza donning their hockey arena… $$.
