do you think harassing Jews is bad? I mean... is pointing out anything someone else does that's bad virtue signalling? Is the whole civil rights exhibit at the Henry Ford Museum with the Rosa Parks bus virtue signaling?

it's just a circle jerk for whatever is fed to them on TikTok.

Anytime there's a Trump rally you see the fringes with their confederate flags, maybe a swastika, some real hatred going on. Do we go through the mental exercise of excusing some members of that rally as just being caught up in it? A person is resonsibile for the company they keep. The FBI in on heightened alert for attacks against Jews. What we are seeing at Columbia and other places of "higher learning" is not unlike what we saw in the 50's in the south. I can't believe we are seeing this in this country in 2024 and it's not a bigger story. It would never ever be tolerated if it were another group.

youth is wasted on the youth. These kids are just plain stupid. But it's genearational. They were the Occupy Wall Street folks 15 years ago. Every group of early college kids gets an issue that they can pretend to be adults about and build camps and pretend to be activists and think they are changing the world. 4 years ago it was BLM. I'll concede most are pawns just caught up in a movement (Like many January 6 folks) but this time instead of fighting racism they are participating in racism by this movements leaders. They should be smarter to realize it.

It’s about power. You see… the Jews run the entire world. So going after them is fighting oppression. Blacks people do not run the world so going after them is the oppressor going after the oppressed. At least that’s what do have read and been told. That’s why left wingers are ok with it.

Getaway games at MN scare me. I can recall at least 4 times they blew a lead in that scenario.

This season reminds me of the 2012 World Series.

I saw a meme that they should set up a party line where everyone in hold can talk to each other while waiting

I bet in those cases nobody knows how to change the messages. The person who did retired in 2009. They don’t hear it so it’s not on anybody’s radar. in the case of the menu options you that’s just their way to get you to pay attention. What drives me up a wall is when they ask you to verbally speak what your issue is. It infuriates me. What they will hear is “Jesus Christ:..” or “oh dammit not this **** again..” or “what the ****…” followed by me mashing 0 repeatedly.

One of the last things I remember talking with him about was whether the Tigers should build a statue for Sam Crawford.

Without looking it up on the timeline here is my theory. Lee Iacocca became a celebrity. He had a national best seller. A celebrity CEO. trump saw that and decided to follow suit with his own book. He would often call up the gossip columnists. As with anything, something that’s big news in NYC is pushed on to the rest of the country because the network news outfits are based there and it’s an easy story to sell. He was a fake “tycoon”. Throw in his marriage scandals and the tabloid nature… people ate it up.

We need to toughen up our youngins.

Yeah I was surprised they were as in game 7 as they were. Of course there’s no guarantee they win game 6 if they were up 3-2.

If the Cubs had made it the Tigers would have had home field advantage because of Wrigley not having any lights. The other options were they play their games at Comiskey or Busch. Baseball didn’t want to lose the revenue of World Series night games for games 1 and 2 and a 6 or 7.

I know. Trust me, I have fantasizsed and thought about this. I think the actual way to hurt him would be to say something like "I remember he had some book in the 80's and Wrestlemania was at his casino, he was in the tabloids a lot for having affairs and getting married, then I sort of forgot about him until the Apprentice came on but I never watched. To me he was just some washed up person from the 80's like Max Headroom or that Herb the Burger King guy. Never knew why he was famous"

1987 and 2009 forever cemented the Twins as the devil for me. They could be the last baseball team on the planet after a nuclear strike that I survived and I wouldn't root for them. Tigers should have played the Cubs in 84 and the Cards in 87, and 2011 and 2013.

This thread is for Comedy Skits (Probably NSFW)

I recall hearing about Zappa's situation. One problem with what he did is that on a live broadcast you have to trust each other and know when it's your turn to read the cards. Once you break from that then the sketch can die. Your cues are shot. It's not improv. The blocking and cameras are set up a certain way for a reason. Regarding the Beavis and Butt Head sketch, Heidi Gardner addressed it in an interview https://www.vulture.com/article/snl-heidi-gardner-beavis-and-butthead-sketch-interview.html Basically she lost it during the dress rehearsal and tried to coach herself for the live show but it didn't work. -
Maeda is giving me so many flashbacks to the failed signed starters of hte past, like Jordan Zimmerman, Mike Pelfrey, Alfredo Simon....

I don't think the purpose of any corporate based customer service is anything other than to justify/promote themselves rather than improve service. It may not be for outside consumption but some manager has it on his objectives so they write the survey in a way so they get a good score. And in many of those cases the person/process being measured has control or impact on the issue that caused the concern in the first place, so they phrase the questions to keep it narrowed to their little world. Think of a gate agent for an airline getting screamed at because a flight was delayed/cancelled due to weather, pilot rules, etc. That agent can't do anything about it. So a survey on them won't address those issues.

I'll never forgive myself for not getting some. My kids were also young and I had just had to pay for some things, including two tuxedo rentals for a wedding and at that very moment I couldn't justify the few hundred. I don't make that mistake anymore. I always tell myself "In 5 years I won't miss this money"
