Anybody watching Winning Time? I absolutely love it and it's revived my interest in that era of the NBA. THe last episode had a great scene with Riley taking over the team.

If I didn't know better I'd think you hit on her and she turned you down. It comes across as obsessive. I love her as governor and hope she runs for Senate. She and some of our other prominent female leaders in this state are models of how the country would be better run by women. I firmly believe that. I don't know if her background would pass inspection from a national search. I have no inside dope or anything but there might be some skeletons best left hidden. Who knows...just a hunch I have.

Without any deep analysis I just go by my gut and say that it's been a lot of fun watching the team this year. The good times feel legitimate and earned. The bad times exist but it's easy to think there'd be fewer of them with some tweaks that he should be capable of doing. They aren't THAT much better but I feel like I am watching more of the future than just retreads. Rather than go on about individual deals or non deals it's better to take a macro view. Expecting him to pull an expedited Dombrowski and get the team to the WS in one year rather than 3-4 is unreasonable. Not saying anybody here is doing that but some on twitter already make fun of him and think he's in over his head. Absurd. I'd say a solid B. It's probably an easy B considering the state but that's the reality.

What i remember about Beiker is he made his debut, in fact when I looked it was his only appearance, the day before we left to pick up our first dog from the breeder. Had to drive to Columbus. The talk radio guys were making fun of his name as we were driving down there. We were newly married about about to turn our life upside down by getting a creature we were responsible for 24 hours a day, a boston terrier puppy is great training for kids. The kids were easier! -
I mention this a lot, I know, but each morning Fox 2 News has to do their corporate duty and air a propaganda segment from the parent company. You can tell they give the anchors the questions to ask because it's so out of place for what I know of Jay Towers to come up with these on his own, not a knock against him but just not his wheelhouse, same for Ryan Ermani or whoever else is in the chair that day. I'm sure Fox does this with all their corporate stations, it's a showcase for their national talent to look smart. You can tell they know the answers already because they are talking fast and nobody is that well prepared. In a clip on the upcoming race they show a side by side of Trump and Biden. For Trump he's standing behind a podium with the POTUS seal. Biden's clip is from the 2020 campaign. That's subtle but intentional.

and no President, until Biden, had the guts to "lose" Nixon had bigger problems so getting out was at that point not his worst problem so why not....

What about the Griffey Donruss Rated Rookie card? I have about a dozen of those. -
I hope they keep it up. Nothing people love more than fighting battles from yesteryear.... that lost.

He could have been ROY if not for some guy named Mark that hit 49 Looked it up. Kevin Seitzer finished 2nd, Nokes third. Mike Henneman even got a point in the voting. -
they passed a law that had instructions to kill a guy named Brian Woodward? Did they make him drink old Flint Water? Was Snyder there too? Did the law have crazy fonts in it that people couldn't read? I'm confused here.

I found articles from 2016 that referred to the 2018-2021 seasons after the CBA signed at the time. Home team still sets times but there's rules now. It has to be a day game if the departing team has a flight longer than 2 1/2 hours, even if they have the next day off. Detroit to NYC is under 2 hours. Also there cannot be a day game to start a series if the visiting team played the night before in another city (This was in response to Detroit having their "traditional Thursday" day game when, I think it was Boston that played the night before, and some bitching went on). In both cases It can be a mid afternoon game if they want, like 5 pm, based on some other criteria. Doesn't have to be necessarily a "night" game. -
Can someone explain to me why I should care about Gretchen Whitmer in regards to the Flint water crisis?

Maybe it has to be a day game if the team leaving is still going to be on the road but since Detroit comes home then it's ok. -

I thought the last agreement said getaway days had to be day games. Is this game on any national network? Otherwise I think the home team sets the game times. Most orgs play nice and set day games for the final game of the series but a few, like Baltmore and I guess NY prefer the higher ticket sales. -
I hope it changed their mind about being vaxxed. Considering what we are seeing now I think a wave is going through and a lot of us are getting it without knowing. Data is pretty clear and I am not worrying about the unvaxxed anymore. They know the drill. If I get to the point where I'm coughing and sneezing then I just stay home.

I listened to Peter Berg on a podcast, he made Painkillers for Netflix which also covers the Sacklers. Been wanting to watch Dopesick but I think it'll just make me so angry.

My wife is on ICU and hasn’t had a patient with COVID in there because of COVID in months.

It is but we gotta find a way to both sides

I’m at the point where I am just treating it like a cold. I know several who have had it recently but all said it was very minor and 5 years ago the “symptoms” wouldn’t have even registered on their radar.

it was a private school. I have no idea if they were state accredited. Religion and education were mixed together as one. Most people went there because their local school "had too many black kids".

that's like the kitty litter box in schools thing.... some moron gets a crazy idea and of course the fringe RW media jumps all over it and has their tinfoil hat circle jerk. Can't wait for Joe Rogan's take.... "Hey.... I got a great idea. Let's use different fonts. THEY'LL NEVER KNOW!" As a kid in baptist school we were taught that certain clothing brands would put devil symbols on their jeans. We weren't allowed to wear them. Seriously. These are the same ****ing people who are so gullible they believe anything.

I will never voluntarily pay or use points on first class unless it’s cross country for those reasons. Preferred is good enough for me. On one of my recent flights they kept the partition open and we were using that bathroom since it was closer for us. It was right between the two seating areas I was in the second row of preferred. Nobody told us not to. Usually what happens is I book our flights regular and then a month later I will upgrade. Once I put out $600 originally another $200 the following month, or miles, doesn’t seem like much. I fall for it. The extra legroom alone is worth it to me. The free drink is a bonus but not a deal breaker usually.

The way society in general treated women even up until maybe 10 years ago is eye opening. That includes not just people who did or said the things but those who laughed or let it happen without comment.

We flew United when going to Aruba as Newark is a hub for them with direct flights there. Significant downgrade from what I'm used to on Delta. The TV controls were on the armrest so anytime you moved it would change the volume or change the channel. I was used to free alcohol drinks on economy plus. United didn't have that but the attendant gave me two bottles since I was on vacation, so that's a plus.
