  1. you should quote some more posts... people find it engaging.
  2. I get taco bell every sunday when I visit my mom, she is 93 and loves the power bowls. The offer was there on Sunday but it wouldn't let me apply it along with other rewards. The app is great.
  3. I mean if someone says player A is a better power hitter than player B because player A hit 20 homers and player B hit 18, and I come back and say "Well actually player A has a higher slugging % because they hit more triples and doubles, you left that out", am I "accusing" them of something? No... just filling in the gaps for an incomplete point. But some like drama.
  4. you love to be the victim.... poor you
  5. Well you did leave it out. Using the word accusation infers I was saying you did it intentionally. I wasn't doing that. Just stating the fact that you didn't say that and therefore it presents an incomplete picture.
  6. That's the most frustrating part. The Arab/Muslim world, including people here in Dearborn, refuse to acknowledge the role of Hamas in this and that the are the ones who do not care about arab/muslim lives.
  7. It's not an accusation, just pointing out your fake scenario doesn't represent the reality. You go ahead and take comfort in your fake scenario that doesn't represent reality as if that is an actual argument instead of just bull****.
  8. @IdahoBerti was just telling you about them. agree. They are good.
  9. Can someone help me out. I swear that the Smithereen’s “a girl like you” was in a movie or TV show. I cannot confirm via a search.
  10. Me too but part of me thinks it would be cool if Texas wins the WS by winning every game on the road in the playoffs.
  11. No it’s not because the main argument used against many on the left about their antisemitism is the fact they refuse to acknowledge the role of Hamas in this. They just pretend that Israel decided to attack Gaza on Oct 8 and ignore the why. Their statements minimize, at best, and often ignore, the why. They do nothing to hold Hamas to account and present this as an act of aggression. That’s a deliberate omission on their part.
  12. You are leaving out the biggest reality. Ignoring Hamas and pretending they are not doing anything to inflame the situation and have no responsibility for provoking israel into their response. There was a cease fire on Oct 6. Arabs broke it. Savagely. Yet it’s rare to see that acknowledged by people who go after Israel for their response… hence the charges of antisemitism. And harassing and targeting Jews that are not in Israel is wrong and antisemitic regardless of what beef the persons grandparents had. there’s been a wave of this ever since Oct 7. here’s a Twitter account that tracks down these people and properly shames them. It’s satisfying seeing people get fired for their hate.
  13. “Hatred of Jews” is not the single definition of antisemitism
  14. I don’t understand why that is supposed to matter? The guy who killed the Palestinian boy in Illinois wasn’t killing any Palestinians before that but I dont think that’s relevant to the charge of calling him a racist.
  15. Who cares? In both situations they are being targeted for being Jewish and that is all that matters. Full stop. motivation for being a jerk is an attempt to excuse it or deliver a cop out. Rednecks hate Jews because they are led to believe they do and did and believe crazy things. (Running the world, eating babies, hoarding money, etc) Those too are “actions”.
  16. I think it’s a distinction of degree, not principle. It’s Shaming a person because they biologically or religiously share a trait with others who are doing what you think are bad things. How is that different than right wing nutjobs targeting Muslims/Arabs after 9/11?
  17. I think some people are aghast or offended at the suggestion that there might be crazy/hateful people that otherwise generally align with them politically, even if further to the extreme. Left/Right is a very broad box obviously. But it cannot be denied that there's antisemetic feelings among the extremes of both wings. Different reasons and motivations but hate is hate. It doesn't mean that if a person leans left or considers themself a lefty that they are being charged as antisemtic.
  18. We got a dusting of snow last night, its cold but very bright out, no clouds. Went for my brisk morning walk and man the birds are noisy today. That made me happy. I don't know what they are excited about but I like when nature is active.
  19. and I didn't mean to disparage this guy... he's nice. Very gentle. He's not barking or anything. It has its advantages sometimes. When they were outside for yoga a group of muslim kids were nearby acting up and disrupting the class. The instructor tried to do something but again, they aren't listening to some white woman. This guy ran over there and got in their face and they ran off. My son experienced it as a head life guard. He tried to kick some kids out and they wouldn't leave. One of them pushed him in the pool, got his phone soaked. He had to call the police and all summer long one was stationed at that pool for that reason. The feedback we got was "why did they put a white kid in charge there? The kids won't listen to him". The mayor got invovled and they eventually did listen to him. I'm not saying all of this to suggest they are all assholes, part of it is kids being kids but I do think there's an element culturally to always push back on authority and especially "outsiders". Everything is just a suggestion, not a rule to be followed. This is probably what was said about the Germans and Poles the early 1900's....
  20. I have to stay mum on these issues but I will jump in to say I was happy to see Shawn Fain shut that down real quick when he tried to get in the way. "Not up in here!"
  21. By nature it's a partriarchal and subsrvient culture. That leads people to accept their fate as pawns and that the "elders" know what's ultimately best for them and their future. If they have to die protecting a Hamas leader then they are martyrs and the cause continues as they can use that to gain sympathy. Here's an example. In one of my workout classes we have a diverse lot of people. Female instructor. She's counting off an exercise we're doing. Midway she'll often ask one of us to continue counting so she can go around and check everyone's form. Every time she asks a muslim woman to count, this other muslim man will then count over her... as if her counting is not enough. Every time. My wife and other friends notice it and start to snicker when it happens. We call it "man-counting" If they ask questions the instructor will answer, then this guy will also answer too. It's not a language thing. It's just that they cannot lead the class and they should get their instructions from a proper Muslim man, not some white woman.
  22. The young people use that app for everything. It's their search engine.
  23. Here’s some more on some of the left’s antisemitism.
  24. I do not know how these advanced stats get created. But I wonder if at some point there is a subjective element? A decision is made to give weight to some element? To me that can introduce doubt. Someone made a decision. Plus it doesn’t roll off the tongue. I can’t very well mention at a game “well this guys RC25 is blah blah blah”. I sit in the second row in the second level. They might toss me over.
  25. That letter is great.
