  1. I don’t think it was nefarious intent. She’s just too stupid to know it’s not how you do it.
  2. I think the lawsuit talk is a joke about the fella that suggested the Tigers sue Rodriguez for… something.
  3. Dog caught the tail once again.
  4. The second paragraph is totally unnecessary and simply makes you an intolerable asshole. Knock it off.
  5. I have been to 2 Pistons games and yes, it's an entirely different atmosphere, unless it's all about the other team. This is my first wings game this season. Man, I hope my connection doesn't retire soon like he says. It spoils the hell out of me having access to his company's suite. It's not fancy in terms of food/drink but I dont care. Being able to sit comfortably with a bathroom a few feet away.... that will be hard to give up. I'm trying not to get too used to it but I've been blessed to go to 4-5 games a year there since it opened. Right inside the blue line.
  6. The quest for knowledge is a gift to us they we should pursue. For many religious people it's a threat because it contradicts their truth. Not all. Many religions seek those answers for the right reasons. But some don't want people to know because it's easier to oppress them with your own version. If for centuries you have dictated certain things because it's in the Bible and the Bible is infallible and you start to crack that then their message becomes untenable. I'm speaking of the hardcore fundamentalist evangelicals. They don't bother to debate certain things because their interpretation of the Bible is clear. Growing up I heard silly things like races should be kept separate, they shouldn't mix. Beards were wrong. tattoos were wrong. Earrings were wrong. Rock music, even something as simple as electric guitars and heavy drums were wrong. Beer was wrong. 40 years later through social media I get a peek into that world again and many of those barriers are rightfully gone. But I so want to ask these people who I haven't cared about, nor them me, in that time since graduation... "What changed? I see your daughter married a black fella. You said that was wrong in 1985. The male teachers have beards and goatees. You said that was wrong in 1985. What changed?"
  7. Pistons have won 12 games in the last 12 months. 5 games in the last 10 months. If they lose tonight, that number goes down to 4 games in 10 months, as they won a game on Feb 9, 2023.
  8. Loni Anderson does that to a fella.
  9. I was at the game. When the wings scored goals 2-4 they weren’t even done announcing them when SJ scored their 3rd goal.
  10. There's Tiger fans on twitter acting like the extra money he's getting over the first 3 years is "not much more".... $11 million is nothing to sneeze at. Nevermind the additional $20M he's getting for the 4th year. Why do fans expect players to do things in the interest of the fans and org and not themselves?
  11. I think 3 and 4 are most likely. Harris wouldn't have made it this far in the baseball world by doing #1 and #2. ERod may have just been undecided and didn't want to make a rash move at the last minute with a gun to his head. that's his right. In the end he got $31 million more guaranteed than he current contract was going to pay him. I can't fault a guy for that.
  12. Beck with the snark. I like it.
  13. Was that 2012 or 2016?
  14. I was stuck on the Bridge.... once again I got the slow line.
  15. Coward
  16. David Halberstam's book The Fifties goes into a lot of detail on it. That's a great book. I cannot recommend it enough.
  17. The importance of it was setting up the 3 camera sitcom, studio audiences, establishing the west coast as a TV industry, and societal things like referencing pregnant women, a hispanic male lead, along with showing repeats, syndication, etc. When pitching the show one of the execs said "Ok but lose the Cuban... the country won't believe a woman like that is married to a Cuban", apprantly ignorant of the fact that... she was married to a Cuban.
  18. Mind blowing. Huge fan of Maiden growing up and finally saw them last year. This proves their chops. I mean... imagine doing this to Shout at the Devil or RATT or Whitesnake....
  19. I'd venture that the most important people in the history of TV comedy are Lucille Ball, Norman Lear, and James Burrows. I just made this up so I'm open to more suggestions.
  20. The normalization of antisemitism is stunning.... just like Trumpism I guess it was always there and just needed something to bring it up to the surface.
  21. it's also easier to brainwash them. That's not usually the intent by the parents because they themselves have been brainwashed. Check out the Duggar thing on Amazon Prime. Lots of people from my HS have homeschooled their kids after they spread out in the country. The "evil" public schools.
  22. They have the right to spew it and you have the right to not read it. Bitching about what others believe and about them expressing it definitely gives off a “chip on the shoulder” vibe. Your unwillingness to simply be exposed to something you won’t agree with or like is what is closed minded.
