That took less than an hour. First time that’s ever happened with a home project I have never done before. one question that I didn’t need but it came up. I needed an extra neutral wire to connect the new plug to the other neutrals in the box. I got a pack of 10 ground wires with the green screws and used that to ground the outlet into the box. I wondered if I could have also used one of those as my neutral from the silver screw on the outlet to the other neutrals, as long as I labeled or marked it. Copper is copper in my mind. I didn’t do it because I remembered someone had left some extra wire that I had in my junk box of scrap. My dad’s mantra… never throw anything away and once or twice a year just go look at it all so you refresh your memory on where everything is at and what’s there.

I don’t think closer is ever settled except for a couple of teams, ever, at one time.

I keep seeing that tweet or whatever it is and am wondering what the big deal is. I mean yeah it’s bad. But it’s nothing new for him. Nobody is seeing that and changing an intention to vote or not vote for him. It doesn’t move any needles.

Thanks. Yeah that’s what I was getting at. Create a jumper on the 3 neutrals back to the new plug. It will be a GFCI since my house is old and there’s no ground wires. Still unsure on the fixture but I want to replace the box just to give me options. I’ve been watching a lot of videos.

I have a junction box in the basement that was set up for a shop light, controlled by a wall switch. The light I want to replace it with requires a plug. I need to change the box because the current one is too small. the wiring situation: it has the line coming in and it feeds two others. So there’s 3 neutrals together, 3 hot twisted together, and the red from the wall switch. when I put them all back in the new box and put in my plug, controlled by the switch, do I just take one of the existing neutrals for my new outlet or should I add a pigtail to the outlet?

I wouldn't either. But his accumulated wealth has also given him the ability to make the best choice as he sees fit for himself, whatever that may be. I am glad he opted out and am glad it appears there's no interest in having him come back. Let him be someone else's problem.

that's easy for you to say about someone else's situation. Maybe his kids have friends they don't want to leave. Maybe his wife has friends. There's so many things within a family that can come up where a sudden move or absence can be traumatic. We simply don't know.

Regarding Christie, I remember the flack he took in 2012 when a Hurricane hit New Jersey. It was like the week before the election or something and "He's out there hobnobbing with Barrack Obama". I'm not saying that to change any minds and I know the other crap he did as Governor. I just don't think he's going to destroy democracy or severely curtail some of our rights. That's a low bar I know but given today's GOP the minimum baseline is critical.

I know some very well off folks who work for them at the corporate level.... of course, they wouldn't want the places near where they live. But it's fine to make money off it.... sure.

but to give him the benefit of the doubt... why would a free agent immediately rule out a big spending team that's targeting his position? Even if you don't want to play for them or live there you keep them in the game. He'd be an idiot otherwise.

and many many people are nuanced and mature enough to hold a position that is "I think abortion is generally wrong, maybe even immoral, and women generally shouldn't get one but I don't think it should be illegal because a woman ultimately should have full autonomy over their body". I think my wife falls into that camp. The flirting around with banning contraceptives and denying certain cancer/medical treatments because a woman may be pregnant is also at play. Throw in the higher risk women in their 40's face with pregancy issues... it's just too much. It's the ultimate "Dog catching it's tail" analogy.

Yeah I am not a fan. I don't care what people do. I just don't want to smell it and I don't want to be bombarded with the adverts for it. I drive to Ohio 3 times recently and noticed the plethora of signs in Monroe. A friend came up to visit us and she commented "I have to stop at a place on the way back for my brother" and she laughed, then I understood. To me the choice is between eating a bland bowl oatmeal and eating a can of expired wet dog food out of a can. One is just not going to excite me or give me any kind of joy but whatever. It'll be over soon. The other will be horrible the entire time and may hurt me and make my life miserable for an extended period of time.
