  1. Were any Kennedy kids relevant? I know Caroline was an embassador but those are just tokens.
  2. "If it weren't my daughter...." I can just hear his cackle after saying that.
  3. I know this doesn't make sense but i have a friend who agrees with me... my beer doesn't taste the same when I have the can in a koozie. It's surely a mental game where the width of the can changes so my mind thinks it's something else. I don't use them as a result. Besides I'm usually on a beach if I have a need for one and at that point I'm drinking a Yuengling so cold isn't a requirement because they go down so fast.
  4. Here's a theory:
  5. They all just waiting to see who's next to be marched outside up against a wall by Saddam.
  6. I think the only difference is O'Reilly's peak came about in a different political landscape, pre Trump.
  7. Gerrymandering and voting restrictions among those unfavorable demos for them is the path forward now.
  8. those other networks won't be able to absorb the financial ramifications like Fox. I made a joke about about The Hulk Hogan lawsuit ending Gawker as we know it, I can definitely see places like OAN and Newsmax suffering a similar fate. The Fox settlement does nothing to help their competitors and just provides a baseline for a settlement that they cannot afford. Tucker will just do his own thing online. I believe he broadcast his show from his bunker at his home anyway. If morons like Shapiro and Kirk can do it then he will. The guy's filthy rich anyway.
  9. No, that's ok. I just mute the word Barry. It's on me to guard that. What I don't like is the day something is released, like some Star Wars stuff on Wednesdays, and that afternoon you get these reviewers with full recaps in their tweet liking to their review. Dude, give working people a chance to watch first. It's not our job to watch these so we can't spend the morning doing it. To me the day after is ok.
  10. Which all goes back to Lindsey Graham's statement that if they nominate Trump the republican party will be destroyed. He's hijacked it. If he's not the nominee then he takes his voters and goes home or runs third party and shaves off just enough support to prevent a GOP win. If he is the nominee then he drives away more voters.
  11. We were all set to watch at 9..... saw it was 10. That's too late for my wife. So I have to mute Barry on twitter.
  12. yeah. Hitters don't owe the opposing P anything. I hate that kind of thinking. It's not a 8-0 game... even if it were, doesn't matter. There's no running out the clock in baseball. Their job is to win games not tip their cap and step aside.
  13. I think it was the best TV show I've ever watched. Bummed that my wife couldn't get into it. I understand how some didn't like it because the pacing was so different from BB. I believe the Howard situation coincided with their mid season break but they didn't plan it that way but it definitely gave off cliff hanger vibes. I also think that episode is when Bob had his heart attack. They had a tough plane to land given we knew the future somewhat and they were teasing us throughout the series but I'm sure they didn't have an overall arc. They did it.
  14. I always get Stefanik and Slotkin mixed up. That’s who I thought that was about and it was about Biden’s ticket. Doh! yeah I think Stefanik would be a good pick for any GOP candidate as VP
  15. We are diving into Black Mirror finally. Liked the first episode.
  16. It would be interesting to see how Baseball America's track record was until the internet and such sites like BR and Fangraphs became prominent. My impression is BA just hired a local writer in each city, had them talk with the organization to get their "top 10" lists, then BA put them all together somehow. I think the org today is in better shape than in 2002/2003.
  17. Musk was trapped because he probably was drunk when he said he'd buy twitter for $44B and was joking when he did it, but then his lawyers told him he was screwed. So now he's in charge and the revenue isn't what he needs it to be. He sees journalists and others using the site to promote their works and tried to get a piece. His ego forced him into fights and grievances and won't let him back down. He misunderstood the value of the original blue check. It's not unusual to offer up some perks to users who want a better experience somehow but $8 a month is too much. If he made it something like $2 he might have gotten some bites, I am giving that much to a couple of patreons who run podcasts on niche topics I listen to and I figure it's my way of thanking them. They're not getting anything from advertising. He might be able to turn twitter into something profitable but it won't be the same site it used to be.
  18. as best as I can determine in 5 min or research the best draft picks under Randy Smith (1996-2001) were 1998 (not a bad year for Randy actually) Brandon Inge Jeff Weaver Andres Torres (Not sure we can count him since his 'success' came like 10 years later with another org) 1999 Cody Ross (legendary around here)
  19. Yep, like a status thing, especially with smaller projects like this. It can help with funding. It would depend on what the language was in the contract. The production company, which isn't him, should be repsonsible for hiring the armorers.
  20. I assume it would be a domed stadium and for the locals I bet it would be a welcome respite to have something to do in the summer. My understanding is they avoid the strip and Fremont St like the plague. I would consider retiring there if not for what I think will end up as a water crisis.
  21. Smith didn't obtain Pena. Smith was fired in April 2002, Pena was obtained that summer in the Weaver trade. The value Avila left were pretty much gifts to him via the draft.
  22. yep. It meant "listen to this person, they are legit" Now it means "this person's a fraud who is to be ignored"
  23. I could see sueing him in his capacity as a producer on the film, as in theory he's then shares some responsibility for the staff, unless his contract explicitly says he's not. But as an actor I don't see it. I know they have the ability to check and are trained and all that.... but ultimately you have people for that. An actor isn't responsible for equipment. If a car's brakes failed do you hold them liable for not checking the brakes? Or that a glass of water or piece of food wasn't poisoned before giving it to another actor in the scene?
