  1. it's his lucky machine.... I've been to Vegas 8 times, 6 of those for work conventions. Stumble back to the hotel at 1:30 am, leave it at 7:30 am.... the same people at the machines and tables in the morning.
  2. Even if both sides suck I will lean more on the side that doesn't use rape as a weapon of war and cut off babies heads or burn them alive in their cribs and executes people in front of their children. Israel is always expected to turn the other cheek because many on the left condescend to the palestinians that they just don't know any better.
  3. If someone cannot see a moral difference between IDF's actions during warfare and Hamas then they are lost and not worth arguing with. If Israel truly wanted a palestinian genocide then they would have done it already. It's pure antisemitism. Brainwashed masses. We have nazis among us today and are reliving WWII. A large segment of these protesters don't even think Oct 7 happened. They think Hamas are the good guys. The palestinian cause has morphed into Jan 6 election denialism. It's the same thing. Ignore truths that are inconvenient because of "sides".
  4. For running clothes I think the opposite is true. Women always have a phone pocket. Would it kill apparal companies to just throw in a zippered pocket on a pair of shorts or a jacket? When you run often times you drive somewhere so you want, at minimu, a spot for a key and a phone.
  5. I’ve ripped on Chris Ilitch plenty. The org always seems to play it safe. But then again I think signing Hinch and Harris and even the new announcer shows a willingness to improve things or at least try to improve. Hinch had baggage but did win. It would have been easy to just promote Lloyd of some other Gardenhire type guy. I’m not saying they will spend $30M on a guy. But I don’t know it’s impossible. If Chris wanted to just float along and pull in the cash these moves don’t reflect that.
  6. Here’s two scenarios to consider and how do you think they would play out: An IDF soldier is confronting a Hamas soldier one on one in warfare and suddenly the Hamas soldier pulls out a Palestinian child in front of him basically daring the IDF soldier to continue on shooting at him. What do you think the IDF soldier would do? Change that around now to an IDF soldier pulling out a Jewish child in front of him daring the Hamas fighter? What would the Hamas fighter do? It’s my strong belief the IDF soldier lets him go. The Hamas fighter would just blast away without giving it a nanosecond of a thought. He wouldn’t think it a tragedy or feel the slightest guilt.
  7. Sportswriters have lost their angles and access. Organizations are being run much tighter now. In the corporate model. The old boys network dwindled away. MLB and the teams have their corporate media. Leaks are almost always from agents with a motive.
  8. “Too many Mexicans” is a classic bit from the old days.
  9. to clarify on Fargo, are the seasons stand alone? I'd like to watch.
  10. I"m also curious to see what kind of totals Mauer gets. I always assumed he'd sail in but I see a lot of doubters. Too much time at 1B?
  11. And if we are being honest…. Turkey kind of sucks. I mean I eat it and everything. It’s not bad. It’s not offensive or anything. It’s just kind of blah.
  12. “Ummmm yeah… northern lights. Wink wink. Go with that”.
  13. That senator that wanted to fight the teamster guy complained on twitter that he paid over $4.50 a gallon, in Oklahoma, to fill up his F250 Diesel, blaming Biden. A check on gasbuddy shows diesel prices in Oklahoma to be about a buck cheaper per gallon.
  14. Bummer about Willie Hernandez.
  15. When I would visit our family in TN, we got off 75 in Kentucky just past Lexington and took the "back roads" to head southwest. They've become less Back Roadish over the years but there's one stretch I really like. I enjoy seeing how the local people live. Old barns surrounded by grown up brush. You pass the local HS and can see the pride they have. Some parts of Kentucky are a potential retirement destination for me.
  16. I thought the OH turnpike and the NY toll roads were well maintained. In NY they are building new plazas and do a good job telling you how far away the next one was and what they had. I'm a stopper. I don't like to drive more than an hour without it. I like toll roads and turnpikes because traffic is lighter and they have those. I can get out, use the rest room, fill up my water, get a snack or coffee if needed and get just enough of a stretch by that walk to and from. It only takes a few minutes and since they are right there you don't lose much time.
  17. I don’t know…. I think this makes him less attractive of a signing.
  18. I was going to specify what it was but a bunch of people are waxing poetic about Gods beauty and him knowing what she needed to see. No need to trample on that.
  19. An old HS classmate lives in Monroe county on the water and was going on about what a gift God gave her with some beautiful lights from the north after a rough day. I didn’t have the heart to tell her that pink glow we see due west of us in the Detroit area is lamps from a weed greenhouse in Canada. It’s been there a few years now. On a clear night take a look. It’s a pink cloud. Most visible just after dusk. https://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/local/michigan/2019/11/26/far-reaching-greenhouse-lights-color-sky-leave-some-seeing-red/4248414002/
  20. Coming back from Cooperstown we were on the toll roads in NY, they have the plazas. I had about 70 miles left after the last plaza on the turnpike before getting into PA. Passed by the exit we stayed the night in but decided to carry on. Then it's desolate. Finally with under 20 left there's an exit. Only gas station within miles. Erie area was too far away. They charged like it too.
  21. My wife went to Toronto with a friend who was going for a work conference so... hey, free trip to Toronto. I had to drop her off at the friend's house in LaSalle, which is just about 5 miles from the Bridge. I made the trip there and back twice, on Thursday to drop her off and yesterday to pick her up. So yes, my peeve here is the border agents. I know they are doing their job but it's on myself. No matter what I pick the line with the agent who has to ask everything. It's just my luck I guess. yesterday going in I started to time him. 3-4 minutes per car. The lane next to us was getting 2-3 cars in during our 1 car. I idled for 45 minutes while waiting so that probably cut into the gas savings I got from the duty free pump. And the US agents are still assholes.
  22. It’s lost 90 plus million already. Wonder how long it will be there.
  23. I would think the players would look at how the Tigers publicly handled his thing last year in a positive light. They would want the same courtesy. I see that as a different thing from his contract situation and the same with Spencer. That’s just business and they assume all orgs are like that. They can distinguish between how they treat you professionally and personally.
  24. I don’t expect a GM to bad mouth or talk down about any player on the active roster. They will say the nice things until he’s not a member of the ball club. I don’t think the way Eduardo or Turnbull were treated will have any impact on players coming here. Nothing wrong with not giving a player a new contract when they already have one. He opted out Tigers didn’t do anything wrong there. Why negotiate against yourself?
  25. Spoiler alert. They didn’t.
