There is a big of unintended consequences though in the voting rights enforcement mechanism. I don’t know if that’s what happened here but in general by having to create specifically “black” districts that are guaranteed you inadvertently create whiter districts nearby.

You have to answer the question of what purpose does the sports media serve today? Analysis? Nope. We can get better analysis here and on the internet in general. You have to weed through it obviously. Insight and background information? Maybe but the leagues all have their own media and the athletes are don't talk about that kind of stuff anymore. There's no meeting up at the hotel lobby bar or Lindell AC to bitch about the GM. Players are walking corporations. Their interviews are done with the official team podcast sponsored by a law firm that's hosted by organization employees.

Carpenters HR was as epic as any I saw from my seats from Prince or Victor or any visiting player. I legit lost it in the air as it went up right in front of me.

I feel like given that if you are a playoff team then you have "good" players, the differentiator is a good bullpen and good defense. So if the idea is to build a playoff team you make you are as good as you can be in those areas. If you get into the playoffs then you probably already have 2 good starters, at least. And you probably have a good offense. But when runs are scarce and every at bat is critical over a 3-5-7 game series those are the elements that prevent that single in the hole that scores the runner from 2nd. ANd the bullpen shuts down the late rally.

and throw in a 2 of 3 series for the first round....

It's not as bad as it was a few years ago, when you could smell and see it. You look up at the trees and it looked everybody was having a bonfire in their backyard. I don't smell it this year but it makes the blue sky disappear so it looks overcast. And in the evening the moon is orange and it does make nice sunsets but not for a good reason obviously. We get so many overcast days here from January to April so it is aggravating that we miss out on these beautiful blue sky days like this.

What did he say last year? This org earned the benefit of the doubt and Carlos and lost legacy media don’t have the knowledge to speak intelligently n these matters

Rochester Hills. Family moved when he was 2. Dad was in finance and moved around a lot.

No because we went to the nice part but I did have to stop in Red State Ohio and saw some meth heads around gas stations. By the way... nice job Ohio. Every freaking Rest Area going south, and all but but one going north, are closed for construction.

regarding cities.... I got back from San Diego last week and immediately drove to a wedding in Louisville. MAGA family's first question about our trip was "Did you see a lot of homeless people". It's like they get off on it. Yes we did see some. It's a beach in the best climate in the country, not too hot, not too cold. Why wouldn't a person without a home be there? Did they bother me? No. Not once were we solicited. They were just sitting or laying there like everybody else around who presumably had a place to go when finished.

That could be. I remember when the opposite happened when people on the left said people on the right were upset over Starbucks "getting rid of" Christmas cups. They didn't. And like one 'influencer' made a stink about it, then it blew up.

I think the outrage over that ad is dumb and one reason why dems struggle. Not the democratic party per se and the politicians, but they get lumped in with the people who complain about stuff like that. It's just an ad and a play on words. That's it. There's no conspiracy. When I was in high school I had to listen to the religious people tell me about hidden messages in Bugle Boy Jeans and Proctor and Gamble logos, etc. This is the same thing. Quit making things out to be bigger than they are.

difficult to deal with could mean a lot of things.

You can’t trust entertainment accounting. They can make it come out any way they want for their narrative.

You don’t build a team for the playoffs. They have a huge division lead. Don’t sacrifice to build on that. If you can’t win the division this year with what you have won to this point then that itself is a reason going “all in” would be a mistake. One player doesn’t prevent a massive slump. This org and players have been at the highest performance over the last calendar year. They have earned the benefit of the doubt. I have no beef with today. People get caught upon the adrenaline and breaking news and psychologically feel left out and assume something is wrong. I like that the org isn’t holding to some idea of a “window” like they did 10 years ago because we had a dying Ilitch and Cabrera and Verlanders careers to worry about. We don’t have to win now because of Skubal. Give us a system that contends every year and let the pieces fall where they do.

This is his third deadline day as the guy in charge.
-
Just because it’s Black Friday or Prime Day doesn’t mean you have to go shopping.
-
Only if the teams with players you want value those guys to the point they give up what you value. Teams aren’t required to consummate a trade just because the pieces “even out” on paper
-
Remember last year when the Tigers gave up and Harris blew it at the deadline? They are 98-65 since then. Relax people.

My wife and mother in law were in the parking lot of the Machus Red Fox that day. Her parents were divorced and that was the exchange point when she'd visit her dad. He lived in Pontiac and she was in Dearborn.

We will know it when Colbert goes to another entity.

He's not scared. I guarantee he's not scared.

If Trump wasn't on "a list" then it would have been produced by now.

In a weird way he cost us Robbie Ray. I know that sounds funny because that's who we traded Fister for. But the fans really were against the trade and when DD sent Ray away I feel like he was responding to pressure which I've never thought before.
