  1. 60 is the new 50 though.... Obama and Clinton skewed things. Post WWII, here are the ages of Presidents at the start of their term. 62, 43, 55, 56, 61, 52, 69, 64, 46, 54, 47, 70, 78. and to me, Nixon and Bush 43 were "old"... meaning they were culturally older than they were. Someone said in 1960 election said Nixon was an old person's view of what young people should be.
  2. I'm sure each team has protocols in terms of what they say.... "Mine" or "I go I go" are ones I've heard at the games. But generally the CF takes priority on everything and it's up to the corners to yield. Everyone knows this. Even the players know it. But ff course on some plays it all happens so fast and adrenaline takes over that sometimes they mess it up. It happens. But it's not for lack of knowledge on what you are supposed to do. One reason you'd keep going after it after the CF calls it is in case they suddenly lose it. The issue there isn't Perez knowing or not knowing... just execution. That's sports.
  3. I hate Tlaib (She's my rep) because she doesn't have any courage. There's some things that are easy to condemn and she refused to do it. I will never vote for her. If every other vote was counted and it was my vote that would determine the control of the US House I still wouldnt do it.
  4. The “usual” suspects will be protesting… something about arms for Israel.
  5. Walz sounds like a foreigner name….. is he after one of those black jobs?
  6. I only check mine out of curiosity but I don’t act on anything day to day. I pay them to do that. I’m not interested in more stress so that my portfolio might be 2% higher in 10 years.
  7. I remember that too. And I kept thinking of trying to come up with a similar thing for men to be tax free and couldn’t. There was ans maybe still is a push to make them tax free.
  8. I remember the right wing saying amazon was violating free speech too... and apple. They think free speech means you are entitled to an audience and to customers.
  9. if someone close to the campaign says it, then I think tampons wil become a useful prop. So far it just seems like a twitter thing. As usual on that site whenever I see something is trending, I click on it, and its just a bunch of tweets talking about the fact its trending but I don't see the sources. So I guess I can't get on them... yet. But it certainly sounds like something that side says.
  10. When I watched the video I posted earlier where he signed the law and was with the girls, I had the suspicion that he had daughters. Why? Because of how he interacted with them. I read a thing a few years ago about how we as adults, especially men, need to be careful about things like hugging and picking up girls, even family members. Don't just assume they want to. We need to teach them that physical touch of any kind is not expected behavior from them and they can say no, even if it's an innocent hug from a man you know. If they reach out to hug you, then go ahead. I remember relatives who would practically beg for hugs or someone to 'sit on their lap'. Most of the time it was innocent but it can send a subliminal message to them for later that they don't have total agency on physical touch.
  11. Yeah, he looks like 60 year olds looked when I was a kid. Now that I'm 50, 60 looks like Brad Pitt.
  12. so back on the subject... This will do a lot to get rid of the 'weird' talk, won't it?
  13. You don't make VP campagin videos... but this could be an exception. That is not a transactional law. His joy is because all kids can eat. Like.... who can be against that? (We know who)
  14. Like a lot of communities around here, our garbage contract was under GFL, who got bought out by Priority Waste. It's been kind of a **** show. But that's not my problem. My problem is the compaints. Get over it. I don't care if my can sits out there another day. These workers are doing their best. It's been hot as balls and it's not a glamorous job. I'm sure it's hard to find employees. I just wish that worrying about the garbage pickup was the biggest concern of my day. Life must be great if that's on your mind.
  15. I've seen this contrasted with Gov Suckabee Handers who had kids around her when she signed a law allowing them to work longer.... they looked like they were sold into slavery.
  16. I lean towards Walz too
  17. No it’s not true.
  18. The thing with POC was all the evangelicals going to see it in groups and repeated viewings. And that’s kind of strange because Mel is a unique kind of Catholic and this story isn’t one I recall being celebrated in the evangelical community.
  19. I’m sharing this with y’all right now. I’m in Jeckyll island Georgia for a cousins trip. Recently one of my wife’s cousins was diagnosed with ALS. That prompted them all to plan a trip here for her. There’s 22 of us here. She’s progressed to the point where she’s wheelchair bound. Today we convinced her to let us get her into the pool at the resort. I was one that happened to be thwarted to hang on to her as she got in and to carry her around. She started giggling. I asked if she was ok and she said yes, she’s loving it. I will never ever forget that for the rest of my life and feel honored to be fortunate enough to have been able to give her that joy. Live your live and cherish it every moment.
  20. Rich Eisen has a pretty damn awesome show. I come across so many clips of his that are worth watching. I love long interviews with people.
