  1. He got his Meltons mixed up lol
  2. Correct. When Al gets 11 years like Randy Smith, we'll talk then.
  3. I don't mind the strategy with Fulmer or even Chafin, because they are on more short term deals, but trading Alex Lange or even someone like Will Vest for a lottery ticket seems unwise from where I'm sitting. Theoretically, they are all available, but the price for guys that are controllable longer term should be higher.
  4. On this score, Biden's problem is that he's old. That's it. And questions about whether we want a President who approaches 85-86 years old in his theoretical second term are fair. But people can age and have less stamina without having dementia. And it's crazy offensive when people spend so much time trivializing that condition all for political point scoring. Especially for those who have to deal with the condition within their family. And when they conflate aging with dementia, which is also wildly offensive and ageist.
  5. Greene has played 27 games, and in that time Greene currently has a better wRC+ than what Tram or Lou finished with in their first year, plus, comparable OPS's. So it's fair to say that, with a full season of ABs (which he won't get this season because of his injury), he would have a chance to hold up his end of the bargain. I'm not saying that Tram and Lou weren't a better combo in their first year, obviously they were, I just think comparing Riley Greene to either Gabe Kapler or Robert Fick is kinda ridiculous at this point. And that he's probably more comparable to Tram or Lou than he's being given credit for with MCS' framing.
  6. Tork? Sure But Greene currently has a better OPS than Tram in his first full season and about the same as Whitaker in his. It's ridiculous to call him Gabe Kapler or Robert Fick based on what we've seen thus far.
  7. "But surely there's an exception for this though"
  8. The bullpen can probably hold their own without Fulmer and/or Soto/Chafin, but the starting pitching concern is real. It would be nice to know if Manning/Wentz were anywhere near being available, as that would help in the whole keeping things afloat bit.
  9. I agree with all of this. The resiliency of their pitching with all of the injuries is actually a great story, but for obvious reasons, that's overshadowed by the historically bad nature of the offensive production. Which is ultimately the reason they find themselves 18 games under .500. I would also clarify that, yes, as bad as the injuries have been, this does reflect on Avila and his ability to build the ballclub.
  10. C'mon man. Lou and Alan weren't Lou and Alan at that juncture of their careers either.
  11. I've said it before and I'll say it again: it's never enough to dislike Joe Biden on policy grounds. People have to get personal and nasty, and people have to trivialize a problem that impacts countless numbers of American families. I wasn't and still am not a big fan of speculating about Trump's mental health or whatever problems he may have, and I find it equally appalling (and hypocritical) that people do the same stuff with Biden.
  12. I'm late to this, but Biden has done the "gesturing toward the chair" motion thousands of times in his political life. Including during the last campaign we just lived through. The video is pretty standard. I don't know if he'll run, and even i'm questioning whether the Democratic Party could do better in a couple of years with someone else, but Crowley is just exhibiting some Biden Derangement Syndrome with this one.
  13. She's downright Orwellian. What a ghoul
  14. Hope they are thinking along those lines in Rounds 4-5 today.
  15. When three people die and many more are injured, you're correct in that it is a "little detail".
  16. His swing is great and mechanically very sound but for the most part he hasn't shown much ability to deviate from that swing in order to put bat-on-ball in key situations. The bloop, go ahead hit he had against the Texas Rangers in the finale of that series was one of the rare times we saw him doing anything of the sort... Maybe some time away will help, we'll see. Mentally, he still seems confident, but that confidence may be part of the problem at this point if it's inhibiting his ability to make adjustments.
  17. Also wonder if the first two picks are a reflection somewhat of their new hires...
  18. Really can't complain about either pick... surprised Graham fell so much
  19. So, does Jace Jung get assigned to Lakeland or West Michigan?
  20. Yep, it frees up one of the bats to fall to 12. Now go watch them pick Brock Porter lol
  21. The Rangers are such an interesting org
  22. Can they take a kneel down to end the half?
  23. Herschel Walker gets all the attention, but Oz is low key running as bad a campaign... he's incapable of not playing into the framing of a carpetbagger opportunist. It almost seems like performance art. But in 2022, he still has a chance unfortunately
