  1. I understand. His value is higher with control over a full season than it would be at the trade deadline when he's only a rental. And the Tigers may not trade him at the deadline if we're contending. The fans would scream bloody murder and for good reason. No, the only way the Tigers can move him is this winter. Or keep him, sign some other talent and make a run for a title? That would be my choice.
  2. Maybe theyll sign some good players after Miggy's contract comes off the books.....oh wait, that ship has sailed. 😅😅
  3. I don't have a problem with Skubal asking for $40 million per but 10 years? 6 years maybe.
  4. I read an interesting stat in today's Free Press. I'm not sure if it's accurate or not but it makes a good argument for signing him; With Skubal, the Tigers have advanced to the playoffs in back-to-back seasons. To get there, the Tigers went 42-20 in the 62 games started by Skubal - and were 131-131 in games not started by Skubal.
  5. Technically, Toronto and Seattle are playing for the American League Pennant. Divisional races are just one step towards a pennant.
  6. I bet the Tigers payroll is about to explode. Scott Harris tried to get by cheap the last couple of years with free agent pitchers but that money is off the books, Maeda and Cobb. Spend that money, and more, on a #2 and #5 type SP. Add it a couple bullpen arms, which is a crapshoot and then go after a RH 3rd base power hitter....Suarez?
  7. Both games tonight are upsets. Buffalo losing to Atlanta and Washington losing to Chicago. Da Bears helping the Lions. Hopefully they can beat Green Bay for us.
  8. Washington's uniforms tonight look like my DeWalt drill.
  9. October of 2022 was the last time the Lions lost 2 in a row. I mistakenly posted it was 2023. It's been 3 years, amazing.
  10. I would have lost that bet if I were a gambler. But...baseball...
  11. The Lions haven't lost 2 in a row since 2023? That's gonna be tested next week against Tampa . They're playing really good.
  12. I thought everyone knew the Tigers had an offer out to Bregman. He signed with Boston. Either Harris was given a chance to match Bostons offer or Boras just used the Tigers offer to get a better deal. Thus...Harris was either played or he was the victim of a very unethical agent. Either way, he should have given Boras a deadline to accept so he could move on to finding another 3rd baseman. But I get it, some people are happy with Harris. I'm just looking at it without rose colored glasses. Harris is flawed.
  13. So...what part of history do you prefer? Scott Harris made outstanding trades that turned us into a playoff team? Or he made screwd free agents signing that got us over the top? Whatever, he didn't do enough, obviously.
  14. I saw an article in Wired magazine a few years ago that gave reasons why officials give home teams calls, not unfairly but subconsciously. It feels good to them having people cheering for them. Just...human nature.
  15. That's on St Brown. It was very catchable.
  16. Reality....this Lions team is really, really good. No matter the outcome of any given game.
  17. I agree but it was a chance to help KC. We can put that dog to bed.
  18. Hutch is a freakin' beast. Strip sack machine
  19. OK...officials didn't call Harper for PI. Prolly could have.
  20. True. But then we need to look at what he did last off-season with a playoff team. Other than Torres falling into our lap, in a position that wasn't a glaring need, he did very little. Got played by Boras in the Bregman deal, using our offer to shop him around. Not a good sign if he wants to sign future Boras agents.
  21. All kinds of people want to defend Scott Harris. And I say the Tigers could have gone deeper in the playoffs, last year and this year, with a few tweaks at the trade deadline. Forget the 15 million dollars he wasted on Cobb, but also look at the major players on this team. With the exception of McKinstry and Torres, who did Scott acquire? Most of these guys are Avila's guys. He hung onto many prospects that he promised "would help this season." It was more his inability to get any deals done, other than for guys who helped us lose several games.
  22. They said it wasn't reviewed. Officials just had a meeting.
  23. Wasn't reviewed. Officials got together...
