It's been a couple of days. I've been mostly out of pocket.

NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — A man was charged Friday with selling a stolen gun to Mohamed Bailor Jalloh, a former member of the Army National Guard who used it to kill one person and wound two others at Old Dominion University, federal authorities said.

The charges come a day after the attack by Jalloh, who had previously spent eight years in prison for attempting to aid the Islamic State group. Authorities say Jalloh yelled "Allahu akbar" before opening fire in a classroom at the Virginia school and being killed by ROTC students.

The shooting happened in a class attended by active duty servicemembers and ROTC students, according to court papers. Jalloh twice asked those in the room to confirm that it was an ROTC event before he began to shoot, the document says. Jalloh was taking online classes at the university at the time of the shooting.

The man charged Friday, Kenya Chapman, told federal agents in an interview that he stole the gun from a car in Newport News, Virginia, about a year before the shooting and recently sold it to Jalloh, according to an affidavit filed in court. Chapman said he met Jalloh at work and that Jalloh told him he needed the gun for protection as a delivery driver, the affidavit says.

Chapman said he knew Jalloh had spent some time behind bars but denied knowing he had a previous felony conviction, which made it illegal for Jalloh to possess a firearm. He told agents he had no idea Jalloh would commit the attack, the affidavit says.

Chapman is charged with making a false statement during a firearm purchase and engaging in the business of firearms dealing without a license. Chapman's attorneys declined to comment Friday.

"Chapman allegedly stole a firearm and illegally sold it to a convicted terrorist, who murdered a decorated American veteran, and he will finally face the full weight of justice," U.S. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said in a social media post.

Do you even try to be factual and educated on something before you post or do you just see something that fits the criteria for what you want to believe is true and go with it?  If you actually care about the facts, these two dudes were in a confrontation with each other and the older dude fell and hit his head.  The other guy called 911 and remained at the scene.  Calling this a murder is just incredibly asinine.

That mall is sad. I live near it. Have been there once in about 10 years, other than stopping at the xfinity store that you enter from the outside.  I can’t believe it’s still operating.  I wish they would knock it down and turn it back into a swamp it was ecologically meant to be.

It put Ogdenville, Brockway and North Haverbrook on the map.

Whenever I am playing Sim City I put a monorail in the middle of that bitch every damn time.  People should be forced to ride em.

apropos of that, I met a gentleman recently about my age volunteering at the same place I do that grew up in northeast Detroit. One his adult neighbors with he was a youngster was Al Taubman - before he had made any money.

I think the collapse of Mall Shopping has to be an interesting business study. I suppose the bottom line is they were expensive to operate and the tenants couldn't compete on price and then online killed whatever upside was left, but they were fabulous places for a time. When Northland first opened with all the gardens and Calder sculpture there was no place nicer to be on a summer day working on something from Sanders. When Briarwood opened in A^2 with the big central waterworks structure  that you could sit around, that was pretty nice also.

We go to twelve oaks regularly and it seems as good as ever. Went to somerset a few years ago, even went to the “rich” side. I don’t know how they are doing financially but they are busy and seem kind of full rent wise.  You just don’t need 5 of them within a 30 minute drive.  I like going just to walk in the winter months and to see other people.  Then we grab dinner.

the business model with anchors being the food (Cheesecake Factory, Brazilian Steakhouse, yada yada) is a better survival plan.  I am annoyed that the ****'s in our area went back to the Malls (probably because they discounted the rents).

I don’t understand the Cheesecake Factory at all.

It’s a noisy place to eat with a giant menu and cheesecake.
