The voice of the woman on Ghorman doing the radio broadcast could have been Radio Warsaw in 1939, 1942 and 1944 or  Budapest in 1956 or Prague in 1968.  Hard hitting.  

The series supplies the layers of context that watching Alderan destroyed and it giving Alec Guiness heartburn (not to dismiss his acting like that he was a genius) did not.
