I really thought the Wings played through 25 games, almost 1/3 of a season, was more sustainable. They were getting depth scoring, had a strong goal differential, winning games in regulation. Sure, the Larkin injury was dirty, the Compher injury at same time was less than ideal timing, and then you add the Perron suspension and a bunch of games crammed into a tight timeline. Some early season success, we all get excited that they are turning a corner, and then Poof, it's all gone in a 2 week span. And we'll try again next year...
