kdog
They also won't need a 5th starter until 7/23. But that's with Jack Flaherty still around.
Sports_Freak
Article in the paper tells a story...Tigers are 0-8 in Maeda's last 8 starts. And they've lost 11 of his 16 starts. Yeah, IMO, Manning could do better.
Tenacious D
Bring up Jobe late July. Dude is probably our 3rd best pitcher, behind Skubal and Flaherty. He needs innings, why not under the supervision of our best pitching coaches?
CaliforniaDreaming
So...Maeda is available in the bullpen on Saturday and Saturday is a bullpen day. Does he start? 🤔

AlaskanTigersFan
Time clock. A lot of teams that are calling up these young prospects are very competitive (barring Pitsburg with Skenes). But a lot of the other prospects help their team win now and will push for playoffs. Tigers aren't close to being competitive but they need their position players to get their feet wet, ala Malloy, and Keith.... No need to start Jobes clock.
kdog
Jobe is a pitcher...the clock on his arm is already started.

I think the Tigers want to have a clearer vision of when they expect to contend before they get the clock ticking on the kid. That’s probably going to be next year.
