There is a train of thought that the reason a baby cries when being born is because they realize they are forgetting everything and everyone they knew in their previous life.  Kind of haunting....

Personally I like the meme that says "Screw that, I'm not going thru all of this again."

Seriously... I'm gonna have to sit through more school days if reincarnation is a thing?

Remember listening to the first Black Sabbath album in the fall of 1970 when I was a freshman at Purdue. It was a room filled with black light posters, and we put wet towels under the door, so whatever smoke we produced no one would know, and it couldn’t waft into the hallway.

The first season of their TV show was really great, spontaneous, hilarious. The second season was less spontaneous because now they knew what they had been doing, and they minded their P’s and Q’s and it was nowhere near as much fun.

His wife was clearly the genius behind the whole thing. My favorite quote from the first year of the series was when his wife suggested doing a light show filled with bubbles on stage, and he said “I am Ozzy Osbourne, the Prince of <blanking> darkness, and I do not do bubbles!“ Well the long and the short of it is that they did do bubbles and it was amazing.

At least he got his one last performance.

Can’t believe he’s dead just a few weeks after the final show.

Crazy, but that’s how it goes.

I called that the day after the show.  Knew this was coming.    That just really felt like a real farewell.   Probably took absolutely everything out of him just to do that.    Good for him.  Went out rockin' .    Not even really a fan of his, but that's how you exit a stage.

Until Ozzy and the band split, I was a huge fan of Black Sabbath. I will always be a fan of the original band.
I managed to see the original band four times:

March 6, 1972  Dorton Arena Raleigh, NC   Opening bands: Wild Turkey & Sweathog

December 7, 1975 Coliseum Greensboro, NC Opening bands: Savoy Brown & Journey

January 21, 1977 Memorial Coliseum Jacksonville, Fla Opening bands: The Outlaws & Mike Pinera (Iron Butterfly)

September 1, 1978 Hampton Roads Coliseum Hampton, Virginia Opening band: Van Halen (First US Tour)

These guys were just everyday guys that made it. I read Geezer’s book, Into the Void. I never read Ozzie’s or Toni’s.
Geezer’s book was 👍 hilarious stuff. Ozzy was one of a kind.

RIP Ozzy.

I have been a pro wrestling fan for as far back as I can remember. WWF/WWE, WCW, ECW, TNA, ROH, AEW, New Japan. Watching pro wrestling has gotten me through a lot of my life and helped me traverse some of my toughest moments. I was a Hulkamaniac through and through as a kid. I was an nWo-ite after a period of time when Hulk Hogan turned bad and became Hollywood Hogan. I know that man isn't perfect. I know he was a piece of **** in a lot of ways. He was flawed, imperfect, and yes, a racist. But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't devastated by this news. I'd be lying if I said Hulk Hogan wasn't a gigantic part of my childhood. I'd be lying if I said wrestling and everything didn't help me get through a lot of rough days as a kid. RIP Hulk Hogan.

Another one from the music of my life

RIP Chuck Mangione

he had a nice little run with 'Feel so Good' and "Bellavia". Went to see him live once back in the day - probably at Meadowbrook. Nice show as I remember.

Only 3 participants of the first 10 Wrestlemania main events are still alive.  Ted DiBiase, Sgt Slaughter, and Bret Hart.  (I'm not counting Mr. T as he wasn't a 'rassler' so to speak)
