This bill is a travesty, and specifically will cause waaaaay more issues for women voters than men. Intentionally. I've become a woman of fewer words the past couple of years. And today, my words chosen to reflect my feelings concerning today’s passage of the Save Act are these few…. scaredy-cat “men” taking creepy Steven Milller and disgusting Steve Bannon’s instructions on how to negate huge numbers of married women’s votes when they have to provide any/all official government documents to prove that if they changed their name from their original voter registration, they can “prove” who they are now. Yeah. That will be a royal pain in the ass. And what new procedures have been established to provide voter ID’s to folks that don’t drive. Or those that had sex changes. Bottom line, my message to those who passed the bill in it’s present form is this - **** you , and the horse you rode in on. I don’t really have a lot of life left to live, but I’m kind of convinced now that I’m going to have to do things that will make other people‘s lives miserable whenever I can. I will strive for that. I’ve never lived in my life that way, but I don’t really have a choice anymore. So be it. 1 Quote
oblong Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Part of me wishes it plays out in one election just to see the reaction by the "Trad Wives" who did the godly thing and took their husband's names and can't vote and those liberal feminists who kept their name can vote. My attorney's son in law took his daughter's name. I know this because his grandson went to school with my son and he told us the name was the same b/c of that. But it's a cool Italian name and i said "I would have done that too". In reality I think it was good for business for her to keep her name. Quote
Edman85 Posted February 12 Posted February 12 No way that gets through the Senate as long as the filibuster is around. Quote

CMRivdogs Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Reading some of the requirements to register to or to actually vote in this Poll Tax Bill. This hits a lot of people... If you don't have a valid passport or don't know where your birth certificate is. (Or your adopted and your birth records were sealed) It's gonna cost you $$$ and a of headaches, Only 5 states have Enhanced Drivers License, which is proof you are a citizen. Real ID's without EDL is is not considered actual proof. What if you or a loved one was adopted and their records have been sealed...$$$$$$$$ What if the adoptee was adopted overseas? More hoops to jump thru, more paperwork costs. It's not preventing voting fraud, its picking and choosing winners. In doing so we all lose Quote
Edman85 Posted February 12 Posted February 12 24th Amendment doesn't leave much interpretation, even for this SCOTUS. Quote

Stanley70 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago There is a rumor that Alito will retire very soon. They want to get out in front of the house going blue and possibly the senate as well. I'm sure they will nominate an early 40 something to get 20 plus years out of them. 1 Quote

oblong Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago The House doesn't matter for a SC nominee but I'm sure this Senate will ram it through. I can't see 4 GOP holding back. 1 Quote
