Is this even a real person? The account has a suspiciously vague Twitter bio within which their only credentials are "Wife and mom" and "Politically conservative", and yet the account has more than 300,000 followers while, inexplicably, following some 95,000 other accounts? Does this make sense?

Also, the Joe's Place X website the account purportedly links to? Probably not even a website.

I would place the odds of it being an accident as 20 to 1 against.

When Jack Morris apologized to Shohei Ohtani, he called him Jose Ohtani, before correcting himself.  I think that was an accident.  However, I think you are right that this was no accident.  He most likely said it for the racist base, although he will surely say later that it was an accident.

Don’t think it matters if it’s a real person or not. It’s still posting threats against a former Vice President and has a lot of followers.

The fact that actual citizens are continually having their lives impacted in the most underreported part of this whole action by the administration.

Every single one of these instances is *unacceptable*

Does the general public even know who Jose Padilla is?

This is one of those instances where JV thinks he's being hilarious and ironic but, instead, outs himself as a weirdo who has had his brain baked by Twitter.

Leo's first appointment since becoming Pope.... which should tell us something about where the church is going and how it's probably going to end up crossways with this administration at some point.

To 60% of us, anyway.

TBH, I think even there are at least some people that would answer a poll saying that they "approve" of JV that think he's a weirdo who has had his brain baked by Twitter.

Three prediction, probably low hangers:

  • Trump will seek to overturn Miranda rights, claiming it hinders the police’s ability to protect the public.
  • Trump will decree habeas corpus to be indefinitely suspended, citing that we are in a “national emergency”.
  • Trump will decree that civilians and media may not photograph or take video of immigration cops in action, claiming doing so constitutes harassment.

I'm not clear on how they would enforce this rule given that almost everyone in America has the ability to take video in their pocket or holstered to their body.

And no, I don't think arresting people for taking videos is going to stop people from taking videos. If anything, it will probably further encourage it.

If I have mysterious masked men chasing me and trying to throw me into an unmarked van, that’s kidnapping. And I’m sure as hell going to fight for my life to get away.

Trump repeats the "Iran is 2 weeks away from building a nuclear bomb" line

also Trump, I am giving myself 2 weeks to decide what to do in hopes it just resolves itself while I golf

because he is held to no standard, and because Americans for the most part lack any critical thinking skills,

he gets away with this stupidity again and again

Jen Pasaki had a great 5 minute group of clips from Trump’s first term, and this one, where he ALWAYS cites “2 weeks” as a time line for questions where he’s on the spot to answer the question “when”.

He also uses that to deflect, knowing they’ll be other stories that will take the previous story’s place.

however, I can’t really think of a previous time where the threat of bombing another nation or nuclear incident was the story that he’s answering the question with “I’ll give you an answer in two weeks”.

He’s a bloody disaster. In so far over his head because now he has absolutely no competent cabinet members or advisors, nor would he listen to them if he did. He’s going to get your unfortunate sons (& daughters) killed.

So he's basically the renovator from the movie The Money Pit? That seems oddly appropriate.....

Doesn't mean he won't declare an edict against it.

But if people start getting arrested and roughed up and jailed for taking video and end up getting their phones confiscated for good, I'm guessing it might work for a short while, and then it would eventually backfire. But as much as Stephen Miller would like to see immigration cop cruelty against by-standing civilians on camera, Trump definitely does not, because he doesn't want to lose quivering red hats and their votes on the margins.

He's a bloody disaster, all right, but he's also reorienting how this stuff gets talked about, and that part is probably going to survive him.
