I've heard many variations of this-but this is already a long post. Let's just say there's a reason a lot of middle-aged and older women encourage girls to be serious about their educations. 

It all seems like nonsense to me-even though I know that it was a different time.

I don't know whether you have HBO (or MAX or HBO MAX or whatever the heck it is), but I have just started watching the Ms. Magazine doc, and it's pretty good.

A lot never paid attention to all the crap he pulled back with the casinos and bankrupting Trump Tower. If they knew him at all it was because of the Apprentice. Where they fixed up his dump of an office and made him seem bigger than life.

As PT Barnum once said "A sucker is born every minute" or something like that...

I’ve had passive s*******l ideations, off and on, for decades. Typically they come maybe 2-3 times a year, and subside after a day or two.

Now they’re here for a big chunk of the day, every day. Still passive, which in some ways makes it worse because I can’t even imagine doing  anything to relieve the misery.

I know we’re supposed to think of ourselves as responsible for our own mental health, but I’m 100% blaming Pig-King and the ghouls backing him for my current state. I just am.

One thing noticed the past couple of nights is that local news (WGN) has gone long on unhinged clips from Trump/Leavitt the past couple of nights. I don't know if it means anything, but as an editorial decision, it's been a lot different than how they've generally covered Trump since returning to office.

Just take it day by day, man. My hopes are that this is the bottom, and this ****storm will swing the pendulum back to better in a few years. Just need to fight and hang in there.

I think it's important to remind ourselves that we are not only alone and that, despite him winning in November, the majority of people largely don't approve of this ****. And that success in a political sense needs to be measured; there's never going to be a moment where the scales just magically fall from people's eyes, that's not how our politics has ever been wired... even Bush in 2008 still retained around 30%. But that every little bit does count.

As much flak as they got from various elites in social media, that's one of the values that No Kings brought in that it got people out and socializing with others who feel the same way. 

Probably the most discouraging thing, believe it or not, isn't the American public as a whole and how they have responded since January, it's the elites, particularly in media, who have shown themselves to have zero backbone or scruples. We all knew this was the case, but watching how the Paramount shakedown has played out, how really no price in the negotiation ever seems to be high enough for Trump, and how Shari Redstone keeps saying "thank you sir, may I have another" has been a real blackpill. Bill Paley and Ed Murrow would be rolling in their graves.

Why does it feel like Colbert being cancelled is like the Czar and their family being killed by the Bolsheviks?  Its confirmation that the system is no longer one where free speech is protected.

It's a sign that the people running Paramount don't have any balls or scruples. And we shouldn't be surprised if their business suffers for it in the long run. (see: law firms who settled with Trump vs. those who didn't)
